Gingisune sat near the lake where she'd once seen Severin. Their two boys, who were literally never apart, splashed playfully beneath a sparkling waterfall. She sighed softly, smiling as she watched her sons. She loved her children, but she was growing increasingly restless and unhappy with her life. She had six children from several different parents, and at least six more faekats were running amok with her DNA. She didn't really mind sharing her DNA through the Faetasia Freak Labs, but she wished she could meet those sharing her genes. She missed her own children as well; most of her kids had grown up and moved out without missing a beat. She'd given herself to so many males in hopes of starting a real family, but none of them stuck around after she presented them with children. It was incredibly disheartening. Even Kusanagi, who had once said he loved her, was no longer speaking to her. It had been a long time since she'd saw him and had accepted their last meeting as a final goodbye. She'd been trying to put him out of her mind. She was spending more time with her twin boys, beginning to truly appreciate that they were still so young. It seemed that as soon as they grew up, her babies left her, and she fully intended to keep these little ones around as long as she could.

Severin was loathing this time of year knowing how joyous the faes were acting with their miserable holiday spirit they spread. They never went near the water around this occasion so Severin was miserable without any prey to hunt. He had lasted long enough so far on fish and other nasty things just to sate his appetite. As far as children were concerned Severin had never had any true children rather the two were DNA experiments. The newest, Asherah which was his cloned self practically had swam off on her own leaving the Kelpie male to be miserable.
He thought back on his memories of a certain female that at least caught his attention swimming toward the shoreline. She was quite annoying and yet the male grew fond of her. That is till she took more liking to a beast freak over the watery nature of the kelpie. As he swam along he thought of things letting his mind wander as usual till he spotted movement on the bank of the lake. His eyes had to be deceiving him as he neared closer, because all the other fae were in celebration right now.
No. It was a female and two children that he could tell from where he was. Then it hit him as he swam closer to the shoreline. It was Ginisune or Gingi as he liked to call her. Taro and Morven were playing not too far from her side. Severin was disbelieving those kids still hadn't grown as of yet. Whatever she was there within his reach as his tail pushed him closer to the shoreline.
Moving to the land he changed his appearance being respectable before he spoke, "Well bein' this holiday season I thought ye be spending it in a much nicer place lassie." he commented as he stood there dripping the last few drops of water from his already changed fur. She'd probably chew him out as always, he rather expected it now.

Gingisune jumped, startled as the male approached her so suddenly. She hadn't noticed him in the water. As much as his frightening her annoyed her, she couldn't bring herself to reprimand him for it. She was feeling much too miserable to muster anything but a sad smile as she settled back down and turned her sparkling amythest eyes on him. She quietly looked him over, noting a scar or two she didn't remember from before -- but that was a long time ago, anyway. He hadn't changed much. Granted, neither had she, so there was no reason to expect to see any changes.
"Nicer place? I think all three of us are enjoying this particular spot. It seems the boys are having more fun than they were indoors." She glanced over her shoulders to see the twins building an igloo out of fresh, fluffy snow.
Gingi returned her attention to Severin, studying him. She drew her long, slender legs up and rested her head on her knees. She was wondering to herself whether he shared her feeling of lonely unrest. Idly she dipped a finger into the water and began drawing shapes on its surface with a fingertip.
"How have you been? It's... been a long time since I last saw you. I brought the boys out to play, and thought they might like to see their father as well." The boys? Gingisune sighed inwardly. She'd also come out to this particular spot in hopes of seeing Severin. After all, it HAD been a long time.

The kelpie narrowed his eyes for a moment as he advanced closer to where she was seated. He still kept himself glazed upon those two boys that basically were quite "attached" to one another. He returned his gaze back to the little Pixie remembering how pretty she was when she scolded him. But, strangely she wasn't hollering or being cruel. Severin was used to this sort of environment because he always found some way to irritate his Goddess in some way.
"Well most of those folk are off celebratin'. Only right you should be as all the others are right? But if this be what ye want I won't tell ye different lassie." he commented as his forelock soaked with endless water started hanging over his right eye. Severin resembled a normal faehorse when he was on land though he did leave his tail present because she had seen him before.
So what now the male wondered. She was unusually calm around him which was an oddity to the male. What should he say or do he wondered. She was company kept until she stretched off to be with that land walking male. The only female he ever really did raise his gaze to and now he wondered why that hairy mongrel wasn't in her company. Still it was none of his business so he didn't take the time to be his insulting self.
"Been in hell lassie. Goddess been sore as banshee at me these days" he chuckled responding to her, "Other then that been keeping alive and tryin' to hunt as always. They be lookin' the same way I saw them before... hmm". He looked away from her to the depths and sighed to himself. Being alone was the story of his life from being what he was born as.

"Goddess?" the pixie repeated curiously, quirking a brow as she gazed at Severin. Perhaps he meant the horse Goddess... Epona, I think her name is. It seemed fitting for him, but of course she waited for his response to her inquiry before making undue assumptions about whom he followed. She herself was a follower of Xevioso Goth, the trickster god, although admittedly she needed to visit his temple again. She hadn't been there in so long, and from what she'd heard her god had found himself a beautiful mate.
A mate? Gingisune sighed heavily. The thought of others finding love tore at her heart and reminded her exactly how lonely she was. She attempted to keep her mind off the painful subject and returned her attention to the Kelpie. She reached up to brush his dripping hair away from his eye, her fingertips lightly skimming his damp cheek.
Severin mentioned the twins, and she glanced over at them with a gentle smile. "I know. I can only figure that one of the gods has played a cruel trick on us as punishment for what... what happened that night." Her cheeks pinkened at the thought. Idly she tugged at a wrinkle in her glimmering dress, avoiding his gaze.
She'd thought about that night often since their departure. She couldn't remember most of it, and vaguely wondered what it had been like. And all of this... because of a little drinking? Since then she hadn't touched a drop of firewater. But had there been more between them that night than personal interest? A part of her hoped so.

The mere thought of Epona hanging him out to dry was humiliating and the image was quite scary. There was nothing more in the world that frightened the kelpie then his Goddess. She was a kind loving soul but when the balance was tripped the waves of punishment were more severe then anything he liked to fathom. So as he stood here conversing with the pixie he pondered her influence on the way he had been thinking lately. Mainly he couldn't stop thinking about her. First he cursed her getting drunk with him and yet he idealized her company that night. He often still wondered if a beauty such as this female had finally tamed a vile monster's heart.
The child he kidnapped had been merciful to let him live in the trial. Perhaps that is why the young Goddess' name was Compassion. Something of the sort Severin had yet to comprehend to say the least. He never really cared about the feelings of others or their ideals. All he knew was luring his prey and feasting on their gullible attraction to such a fine looking beast such as himself.
What a joke!
Eventually the stallion brought his attention back to her shadowing away all the thoughts his deafening thoughts had cursed him with. Her simple touch in moving the lock of wilted hair was enticing with gentleness only she could carry.
"Well aye be thinkin' lassie the cruel Gods had a plan involved. But I'll also be sayin' that there may of been more. How is it possible that I'm not devourn' ye like I should be? Its a complicated mess even I can't get out of me head." For once the monster was being honest letting his reflection bubble and change before her to the horrible thing he was. If she shied away at the ugliness in his own persona then it was true there was no help for him. The odor that resonated from the beast was much like week old stale water with a hint of thick algae and putrid decomposition. He wasn't the most favorable thing to gaze upon, wondering if she too like others was truly repulsed by him.
"I don't know why lassie that you be intrigin' me like you do. But if you can tolerate what I truly am there might be some hope left" he commented grinning at her with rotten flesh sticking between his teeth from a previous meal. Kelpies really weren't one for brushing their teeth like other well mannered faes.
He paused then spoke once more, "So lassie what do you feel seeing this cursed soul before ye? Am I hopeless like others have been whisperin'behind me back?"
His goal was to see her real opinion of course and hope she could stomach just even looking at him for who he truly was.

Gingisune stared at Severin, her head spinning when she heard him speak. Devouring her? Was that the kind of faekat he was? She'd had no idea. But she noticed his teeth and realized that he wasn't trying to scare her. He was telling the truth. She'd never really been bothered by things like his "fishy" smell, but she'd always felt a sort of pull toward him because of the low self-esteem he seemed to have, feeling obligated to help him if she could.
"I feel," she said slowly, "like I need to get to know you better. I want to understand you. But I don't think you're hopeless, Severin." She smiled gently, hoping that he would understand her apprehension. She barely knew him, and apparently there was much more to her than she'd thought.

[Hopeless. There was a word he dismissed yet it clung to him like the plague others seen him as. Even his Goddess had shown it in her eyes yet she never once called him such a name personally. His knowledge was not vast like those other races that served his Goddess. His only memories and thoughts lied around trapping and killing prey. To hear this female state there was "hope" well that was quite fascinating indeed really.
"Need to be knowin' me better aye? I'm not sure you could be fond of me killin' and trappin' poor defenseless creatures. But I be wonderin' why my own thoughts always be trailin' back to you lassie. Even when I was out huntin' ye always been on me mind. I thought ye would have been staying with that land animal so why the change? Can't resist an kelpie like myself?"
He was being a bit sheepish if not playful letting his form shift back to the more tolerable version he had once hand before shown himself as. True he could never step from the water's edge but if she leaned to swim or be tolerable of water there was definite possibility.
"I be thinkin' lassie there's a lot more of ye I don't know either. Might ye be telling me about yourself a little? Might be the saying of how beauty can tame the beast so to speak."
He was much more jovial in her presence though his humor needed a little more work. Still he was trying in any case.

Gingisune laughed as he passively called her beautiful. She shook her head at the mentioned of the "land animal".
"Kusanagi... 'cannot be tamed' as he said to me. I need someone who will be there for me when I need them, and help me raise a family. All he seems to be interested in is finding more females to breed with."
She watched Severin carefully, warming up to him as he playfully joked around. She enjoyed being around him when he was in a good mood and hoped to keep him in one for both of their sakes.
"About myself? Hm, well, let's see. I can't say there's much to tell. I don't know my parents. I have six children, including Taro and Morven. I raised two daughters but both have left me long ago, and the two sons were raised by their fathers.
"Your turn." She smiled playfully at him, excited to finally learn more about him.

Love was unheard to the massive horseflesh of a beast reeking of carnage and ill will. Yet she stood so very close within his striking distance without fleeing. Letting his mind wander he pondered destroying her, extinguishing her life force right then and there. Such precious life that fluttered with blood and heart it was nearly too satiable to pass by. Yet he let he near him with no remorse or treachery. Dare the kelpie mutter words forbidden to his kind that he could love like other creatures he hunted and devoured.
Her story was a sad one indeed for so many children and no potential mate was more so quite depressing. Before this point in time he would of scowled on the subject of being around any soul lest he go insane.
"I see lassie.... ye been through the mire and back haven't ye? Thoughtless lads only looking fer one thing anyway. It be those I'd rather sink my razor fangs into. Ye deserve better then that lassie... so much more that I can be seein'."
His fingers were a little sticky from the drying water as he rained them to touch upon her face feeling life and essence mirrored in those beautiful eyes.
"My tale lassie is more like a nightmare to ye. I was born because the Goddess herself wantin' balance in her herds. A monster....a nessie of sorts with the power to be killin' and taking what I wanted. I be the evil lake monster feared by all, a fairytale created into a nightmare. I knew nothing like ye lassie. No love, life, hope, nor anything you know well had ever crossed me mind".
He chuckled to himself though it was more of a curse for stealing a minor Goddess to spite another. Stupid move on his part that nearly caused his Goddess to fully kill him outright.
"I've done some nasty things Gingi... things that I won't repeat. I just be hopin' that little Goddess will always keep a good head on her savin' my life like she did."
He flicked an ear as his fish like tail splashed the water giving his body solace from the thought of drying out again.
"Till that festival night when we both shared that drink.... I don't think or rather can't remember what went on with me life. Other than that creature born of my lifeblood that is more deadly then myself. Trust me lassie.... she's not one to meet up with even if she is my flesh and blood. A little nessie with an intent to kill is what she be. I hope ye never come near her waters Gingi".
The thought of that creature, a freak like himself was more of a threat then anything. He was a father to her and yet she'd kill him in a heartbeat. My how life was so misunderstood till there was purpose within it.
"Now what be your take on my pathetic life Gingisune?" he still was miffed by this girl and yet her words and opinions were what mattered most to him.
