Mysterious Shadowy Figure

The cloaked figure stood in the void beyond the door, watching it, waiting for the one he knew would pass through it. When Leander stepped beyond its frame, the cloaked figure twitched one finger, and it slammed shut.
Flames rushed around the cloaked figure, who seemed enormously tall here, towering over the Ice King as he leaned over almost unnaturally, like a shadow bent against a wall. "Leander... I trust you remember me."

Leander stared up into the eyes of the figure that now stood over him. The door seemed to be a million miles away and right behind him all at once. "How could I forget," he murmured, losing himself in the figure's black eyes. In those eyes, he could see into the cosmos, down into their galaxy, to their solar system, to their world, to their country, to the mansion on the hill outside of castle town...
He shook himself. "It was you! You are the one who ruined me... you gave me this, this abomination, you made me use it!" he cried out, holding the apocalyptic book out before the figure. "You... who are you, truly!?" He pointed one finger up at the figure's face, stepping back slowly, hoping he could press his back against the door. He couldn't. It wasn't there.

The cloaked figure laughed, suddenly assuming normal shape, or at least an image of a normal shape, and a sinister grin spread across his face. "Who am I? I am the god you so empowered long ago, my dear Ice King... the god you have now failed." His face twisted as he moved forward, hissing, "The power of unadulterated chaos was given to you, and you failed to smoke her out! You failed to create even enough chaos to keep them from planning a PARTY!"
His last word was a roar that sent Leander sailing through the air, sprawled on his back. The book flew out of his hands, and the cloaked figure caught it. "You really wish to know my name?" He smirked.
"I am Loki, God of Chaos. You served me well so long ago, Leander... your actions weakened the other gods, and I stole their power... it belongs to me now, all of it! But... they left passages in other worlds, to bring other gods... gods who could stand against me!" He clenched the book tight and hissed, "She is somewhere in my land! And you failed to bring her out of hiding!"
The air burst into flames all around them, lightning crackling through the air, but Loki paused to compose himself, his rage simmering to a low growl. "I had such wonderful plans for you, Leander... but you can no longer be trusted with my power. Such a shame... such a shame, indeed..." The book suddenly burst into flame, and that flame swept upward and was siphoned away into Loki's eyes.

Leander's eyes widened-- the God of Chaos!? He opened his mouth to speak, but it was taken up by a scream as suddenly his power drained away with the book! The power Loki had given him was being taken back, as punishment for his failure, and his pale face suddenly regained natural color, the blue veins retreated as he writhed in pain on what for lack of a better word one must call the ground.
He lay panting there, his power sapped from him, nearly unconscious as the door was opened again.
"Begone from my sight," he heard, and then he felt himself thrown through the air...

From the darkness came another figure. It clicked as it walked, and walked rather jerkily. A quiet voice came from it.
"Congratulations, dear master! I'm terribly sorry he failed you so... Is there something you need of me now? Perhaps to try to fix what he began? Yes... Indeed you must need me now that he has failed you. Pity isn't it? You still want me to find her?"

Loki spun, turning his gaze on the odd mannequin. "I take it you still have not found that morph, nor your granddaughter?" He stalked toward her, reaching out lightly to cup her chin. "Margarette... my most faithful servant... remember that you, too, failed to locate Ashera... Madriana failed me, your granddaughter escaped with a morph made from my own quintessence..."
He yanked her into the air suddenly, squeezing her wooden head in a vice-like grip. "Margarette, you try my patience! I was gracious enough to save you, to place your soul in this doll when you allowed yourself to be killed by those pathetic weaklings!" He threw her away from himself, and her wooden body crashed against a wall that manifested itself while she was in mid-flight. Around them, her old cottage appeared.
"I thought you would have brought them back to me by now, Margarette," growled Loki, making his way to where a desk suddenly was, sitting where a chair suddenly rested behind it. "You will not be given a real body until I have been compensated for your failed plan. Bring me back my quintessence, Margarette."
His eyes narrowed to slits. "Bring me back Synra."
