A small note started to play in the arena, the crown looking down the barrell, knowing who was comming from the titontron. It was the newly crowned Tag Team Champion, CM Punk.
Love your hate, your faith lost You are now one of us Love your hate, your faith lost You are now one of us
Still no one came out and crowd started to wonder if something had happened to the one man wrecking crew as he was labelled on FFA.com. The article had mentioned some minor injuries that Punk had sustained, but nothing major.
Nothing from nowhere, I'm no one at all Radiate, recognize one silent call As we all form one dark flame... Incinerate
A Spotlight came on now at the top of the ramp and they saw someone step out, wearing a black hoodie and yellow shorts. A small glimps could be seen of the man's arms, which appeared to be heavily taped. The man was also holding a microphone. Both Tag Team titles were around his waist. He looked up, bringing his hands below his chin in a cross black "X"s on the back of his hands.
Nothing from nowhere, I'm no one at all Radiate, recognize one silent call As we all form one dark flame As we all form one dark flame As we all...
Punk lstarted to walk down to the ring now with a purpose, the fans outstretched their hands to clap his, but his hands were at his side, a confident grimace accross his face. He walked to the steps and got in the ring, looking around at the audience as he waited for his theme to die down before addressing the capacity crowd.
Love your hate, your faith lost You are now one of us Love your hate, your faith lost You are now one, one of us
Now that silence had filled the arena, or at least as much silence as can be hoped to achieve in front of fifteen thousand strong, Punk brouhgt the mic to his lips to begin speeking. "Let me explain something to you people. Two weeks ago at Proving Grounds, you witnessed history. Maybe you couldn't afford to go to the show in Seattle, or even pay for it on television, but with the internet or bootleg copies, you all saw the unthinkable. I beat two men to become the sole holder of the FFA Tag Team Titles. A feet that had never bene done before, and I daresay will never be replicated, but that's the kind of person that I am. I didn't slow my reflexes at the bar the previous night lik my opponents did, I wasn't spotted comming out of a so called Gentlemen's Establishment at 3 in the morning blazed out of my mind and several hundred dollars out of my pocket. You know where I was at 3 in the morning the night before Proving Grounds? That's right, in my hotel room sleeping. I was resting for what I knew would be a battle. Granted, it would have been more of a challenge if my opponents had been prepared, but the outcome would have remained the same. You see, as great as it would be to defend these titles, Mr. CEO himself had given me some time off to recouperate and celebrate my victory. I tried to tell him that I was cleared to compete, but he was very adament on his decission and to be honest, it meant I could stay home in the great state of Chicago and watch some other promotions at work. One that caught my eye was featuring a very talented young man, but wasn't featuring him to the fullest. I took the initiative and contacted this man and found out something very interesting. It turns out, he wasn't happy with his current situation and foolishly he was under an open contract. I asked him if he would like to come over here in FFA and he was thrilled at the opportunity. So I called up my good buddy Mr. CEO and a few days later, my new tag partner was signed to quite a good deal if I do say so myself. Unfortunatly, he has some prior engagemnets overseas that needed to be fulfilled, but I have it under goos authority that next week he will be cleared of said obligations and he may just stop by to say hi and accept my second belt. That takes me to this week. My scheduale has been quite light since winning these belts and I'd like that to be rectified, so if I'm issueing an open challenge against anyone in the back to come out here and try and beat me in a one on one match. Do I have any takers?" Punk looked down the ramp, taking off his black hoodie.

OH YEAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!WOOOO!! . . I CAN SLAP A TORNADO!! . . . . I CAN DRY UP THE SEA, YEAH . . . . WHEN I LIVE FOR THE MOMENT!! . . . . THERE AIN'T 'AIN'T NO' WITH ME!! . . ======= v1 The fans roared as Monster Magnet's Live for the Moment played out across the arena's speakers, and it was that song that became well-known as the anthem for this Hardy brother. Moving out into view of the audience, Hardy bounced on his feet energetically before stepping forward and throwing up the 'v1' sign high overhead! Matt had established this great following from the fans, not just from his Tag Team career, but now from his singles career as well. With his hair tied back, Hardy sported a black tank, along with those intricately designed self-promoting pants. He too was decked out for action tonight, but before meeting Punk in the ring, Matt decided that it was in his best interests to address the Straight Edge's comments. Hardy took up the microphone in his hand as the music began to fade .. v1
" Now Punk, I'm not gonna sell your achievements short. What you secured at Proving Grounds was an amazing accomplishment not seen done by many. It takes skill, endurance, and the ability to take full advantage of an opportunity, and you did just that. Congratulations on becoming the sole holder of the World Tag Team Championships. And you attribute your win toward your Straight Edge lifestyle, meaning you've got no addictions .. no vices .. anything like that. That's also very admirable when you're living 300 days outta the year, on the road, away from loved ones and family.
But it doesn't give you an excuse to be an a*****e about it.
See, Punk, while you claim not to have any sort of addictions to different substances, you seem to have this one undeniable fixation with stroking your own ego and throwing it into the faces of these fans. And like a child starving for attention, you take every little accomplishment and immediately run over to the nearest fan you can find, wave it in their face, and essentially tell them that you're better than them for it. When it comes to matters like that, that's where you and I are very different. We may have the same drive for competition, and when it comes down to the wire, neither of us will say die. But not one man can do what they do out here all by themselves. These fans are what keep me going in the toughest situations, in the ring, out of the ring, they're a large part of what I've got.
As for your challenge .. you're on. "

Punk didn't look impressed when Matt came out from the back, pandering to the fans in the arena. "Matt Hardy" was all Punk said as his opening statement. "You of all people should realize how hard it is to hold these tag team titles, or any tag team titles, and now you come out here and say that I'm not better than these people? I would have thought that it went without saying. As for you, I haven't seen you hold a title in ages, and you think you can come out here and beat me? We're not in Cameron Matt, and you don't have your brother by your side, or one of your many failed relationships to cheer you on. This is just one on one, are you ready for it?"

" Let me put it this way .. I -- "
v1 The thud of the microphone was heard as he suddenly dropped the microphone to the stage. The crowd began to fire up as Matt Hardy began making his way down the ramp toward the ring to get this match started! A referee would also scramble down to the ring to signal for the bell once Hardy entered the ring. Matt would roll in underneath the ropes while the referee put himself between the two competitors, only ringing the bell when the two parties appeared set and ready! v1

Punk had taken off his titles, leaving one in two seperate corners for some reason, and tossed his hoodie over the ropes to the floor, but not close enough for a fan to grab it. He had his hands together, rolling his wrists in preperation for the contest. He had alot to prove against Hardy, and he was ready.

-DINGDINGDING!-
v1 The bell signaled and Matt took off that black tank from over his torso. Shaking his hands out and wriggling his fingers, Hardy stepped out of his corner, bouncing on his feet a bit. Eyeing Punk, he began circling with the Tag Team Champion cautiously. His circling would only come to a stop so that he could move forward, attempting to initiate the collar and elbow tie-up with Punk. v1

Punk also started circling around the ring, opposite Matt. "Let's go kid" Punk said over at Hardy as he closed the gap and accepted the collar and elbow tie-up. Punk would try to quickly escape the tie up however, looking to get Hardy in a hammerlock to start the match out.

v1 Hobbling a step or so, Matt furrowed his brows and pursed his lips from the pressure applied on that hammerlock. Planting his feet firmly, Hardy looked back over his shoulder at Punk to check his position. Knowing he couldn't stay here too long, he attempted to duck backward and slip behind Punk, attempting to reverse that hammerlock with a hammerlock of his own. v1

Punk had a conifident smirk on his face while he had Hardy in the hammelock, torquing his elbow. Then Matt ducked behind and successfully countered the hammerlock into one of his own. Punk had a grimcae on his face now as his arm had a surge of pain go up it. Punk tried to wrap his leg behind Hardy's and drop down, hoping to slip out of Hardy's grip and catch him offguard with a drop toe hold. If he was successful, CM would then try and float over for a side headlock.

v1 Hardy couldn't keep that hammerlock on Punk for too long as Punk managed to trip Matt forward to the canvas. Wincing on impact with the canvas, Hardy soon found the arm of Punk wrapping around the circumference of his skull and quickly tightening with that side headlock. Matt, however, managed to sneak his right hand up near his own forehead. With that, Hardy looked to suddenly slip out backward and float over behind a grounded CM Punk, attempting to cinch in that hammerlock once again! v1

Once again Punk was conifident as he held Hardy in the side headlock. He moved his arm to adjust his grip when Matt slipped out of the back, as if waiting for Punk to move. Before CM knew what was going on, Matt had his arm once again in a hammerlock. Punk hit the mat once out of frusteration. Punk quickly went for a back elbow with his free arm towards Hardy.

v1 The back elbow had served to relieve Punk of the strain on the hammerlock as Matt rolled aside with a wince, shaking his head a bit. But even without the arm submission locked in, Hardy held onto Punk's arm. Returning back to a stand with the arm, he would try to lead Punk back to his feet, only to attempt a deliberately slow arm wrench, really trying to torque that joint. v1

Punk was relieved once the hammerlock was released, but was annoyed that Hardy held onto his arm. When Punk was brought up, Matt began to slowly wrench his arm, casing him some pain. After the wrench had gone full circle, Punk quickly attemtoed to grab Hardy's wrist and reverse the wrench, going for a much more sped up verson of it to Hardy.

v1 The sudden reversal by Punk left Hardy to think about his next move once more. And perhaps maybe his next couple of moves, at that. Leaning forward just a bit because of the strain put behind that arm wrench, Matt extended his free arm outward, trying to wrap it around the front of Punk's face, looking to cinch in an inverted facelock on the opposition. If successful, Matt would then try to turn the Tag Champ around completely into a front facelock, looking to control him from there. v1

Punk was put in the front facelock and was getting frusterated that Hardy was keeping up with his chain wrestling. Punk was desperate to reverse the facelock. He started to struggle looking for a way out of the hold.
