Name: "Gaunt" Age: 27 About: A simple human man. Nothing seems particularly special about him. He's still a university student - his dorm room is where he keeps the vase while he attends class.

The First Day
The Reaction had been going for a couple days, and it was difficult for Gaunt to get enough sleep because of the commotion coming from the vase. The dorm room wasn't very large, somewhere around 15'X10', so it was extremely difficult to get away from it to get a good nights' sleep. Gaunt got up at 5am in the morning in question. It was what he always did, really. Have some coffee, catch up with the news, maybe play a game for a few minutes before he went to get breakfast and start the rest of his day.
Gaunt wasn't there when the Nutcracker Prince finally climbed out of the vase. The vase was on top of a hip-high bookcase, so moving around was a little daunting for the poor fella. He perched himself on the edge of the bookcase and looked around. The walls were a boring shade of off-white. The bookcase he was on was tucked against the front-right corner. There were two beds in the room, one along the right wall, and the other along the back. Only the one on the right-side had bedding on it. The bed in the back had a mini-fridge and a microwave under it. The middle-front had a desk, that had all sorts of gadgets on it. A TV, computer, XBox 360. There was another desk in the room, this one toward the back-left. It had a coffee maker, an alarm clock, and a couple boxes of fruit-and-grain snacks. There was also another bookcase in the back-left, where there was also a window. That's where there were a bunch of games, a rice-cooker, a coffee-grinder, and a fountain. The middle-left of the room was two closets along with two sets of 2x3 drawers for clothes. The door was on the left-front.
The Prince chewed on his lips softly as he stared down at the three-foot drop from the top of the bookcase down to the floor. There were some drawers set into the desk, but the gap between the bookcase and the desk was a good 3 feet. Much too long for him, in his extremely small stature, could jump safely. So that meant the would just have to find a way to get down. He made his way over to the corner of the bookcase, turned around, and slipped himself down. He wrapped his thighs around the corner of the desk and let himself drop down a bit. Of course, the bookcases were divided in half, giving two interior places to put things along with the top surface. He hit this divider and squirmed himself onto it. After that, it was just a good foot-and-a-half drop, so he took his chances and jumped the rest of the way down.
First things first. There didn't seem to be a whole lot of fun things to play with around here. A lot of books, as lot of paper. Now that he was down, he could see under the first bed and see two baskets full of clothes. Dirty, probably. With nothing interesting to play with, what else was there to do? Ah! He could eat! When he was on the bookcase, he could see at the second desk that whoever this room belonged to kept snacks there. He made his way over to the closet-and-drawer combination and jumped up to grasp the metal handle of the bottom drawer. After pulling himself up, scaling it was just a matter of time. The gaps between the drawers and their metal handles made nice foot and hand holds. And it was just a small jump to get on the desk, where the treats were waiting for him.
He made his way over to the boxes that had the grain snacks in them. One of the boxes, proclaiming itself to be Blackberry-filled, was already open. He stepped up onto the box and reached inside, and with a little effort, managed to pull a bar out. Of course, the bar itself was wrapped. Foiled! He huffed softly as he stared down at the bar, then straddled it and started to wrestle with it. It took quite a bit of effort, but he was eventually managed to make a break in the foil wrapping, and it only took a little more effort before he got a hole big enough so he could reach in and tear a piece of the fruit-and-grain bar inside and sit back and munch on it.
Shortly after, on his second handful of fruit, he heard a noise from the door. He blinked a few times and he peered toward it, clutching his food against his chest and creating a bit of a mess of his top. The door then swung open and in walked Gaunt, with his book-bag over his shoulder. He blinked a few times at the small figure sitting on his desk and eating his desk. Then he broke out in a grin and walked over to the Prince and plucked him off his desk. "Why, hello there. You must be the Prince."
The Prince squeaked when he was picked up and blinked up at the large man. "Ah.. Who are you?"
Gaunt laughed softly and he shakes his head. "You can call me Gaunt. I'm staying in this room, for now. I hope we can be good friends!" He smiles as he reaches down and breaks off a bigger piece for his new friend, the Prince wrapping his arms around it and setting in to it. "Mmm! Keep feeding me this and I think we'll get along just fine!"
