I have a black lab, he's four years old and I've raised him since he was 8 weeks. When he was about a year old he and a neighbors dog got into a fight, neither of the dogs even bit the other but there was a lot of growling. My neighbor KICKED MY BABY. Jackson was about 70 pounds at the time and the jerk kicked him hard enough that he GAGGED and almost FELL OVER. Even since then Jackson has been traumatized. He's afraid of strangers and has grabbed 5 peoples sleeves. Last night...My best friend was over. I was down stairs with him and I told her "If you come downstairs make sure you call me first. I have my cellphone or just yell down the stairs." She didn't listen. She just ran down the stairs and Jackson slipped out the office door without me seeing. He went at her and...broke skin. It wasn't a bad wound or anything, just scratches on her rear, but there is a 90% chance that this was the last straw. My mom has deemed him mentally unstable but he is THE SWEETEST dog you could EVER meet. He is 95 pounds of muscle but he is the gentlest dog we have. I love him with all of my heart but we're debating putting him to sleep. Please pray for him. I will do anything to help him get over his fear but if we have to let him go please pray that he will get to heaven. I just want him to be happy.
