It had been a fine and dandy morning, at least in Verdandi’s eyes, the ‘Spotty knight’ prancing around in a sort of glee that was unmistakable to anybody who knew what one seeking out some form of trouble looked like. Only Verdandi would have been able to be out looking for trouble and not be intending to wreck havoc.

No, while she was out looking for trouble, it wasn’t trouble in the traditional sense of the ‘horrible’ way.

She was a spotty knight, therefore her ‘quest’ was actually to go to find trouble in order to thwart the ‘evil plans’ of whomever her chosen victim would be. However, while she had currently found no adversity, she had spotted herself (no pun intended) some company.

A sandy colored leopard was standing out in the grass, staring up into a tree with a very tame and calm expression on his face, his tail wrapped around his paws. Verdandi, assuming that he would be welcoming company, had waltzed right over to take a spot at the male’s side.

He was less than thrilled. In fact, he got up right away and started to walk away about the time her butt had touched the ground. Wow, fast reaction was fast, actually.

Verdandi, however, frowned after his retreating figure and got right up to follow after him.

He liked this idea about as much as the idea of having a stranger sit with him, looking back over one shoulder at his stalker and frowning at her. In fact, he also seemed to seethe upon sigh of the less-sandy and more-richly colored Verdandi (though they were both still very brown). This, however, thrilled her.

“Good morning!”

She chimed it at him with a complete grin painted on her face, trying to be pleasant. He hissed at her.

Well!

Verdandi didn’t stop her pursuit at the ‘warding’ of the older male. Naturally, this caused him to hiss for several more steps while she tailed him, finally turning on her and shoving his face right up in hers.

“What is it that you want?”

His voice was cold and bitter, almost warn. Almost as though he’d lived through some sort of a horror that had worn away at his mind and his nerves to the point they were raw and he was grumpy.

Frankly, the inquiry caused Verdandi to pause and recoil back in surprise. She actually hadn’t been expecting him to do more than hiss and try to ignore her, so being proven wrong with an inquiry had actually silenced her for a time.

But not for a long time.

She perked right back up, soon enough, a sly grin crossing her maw to the discontentment of the leopard before she started to pace around him, eyeing him. Oh yes, her mother totally would have mistaken this very little prowl, the strange woman, but the Spotty knight was not checking the stranger out. She was assessing him. Good? Bad? Strong? Not st- Okay, that was a no. He was definitely a state of more capable than herself.

Which was a good observation to make early, as it told her to stay right beyond the reach of his paws.

“Mmm, Your name, why you’re acting suspicious.”

The leopard made a slight face at the ‘what she wanted’ listed, though it was only two items really.. but that didn’t make it any less suspicious to him. Why did she need to know so much about him?

“Nnn, state your own first.” He replied.

Verdandi frowned. Well damn, actually having to reply was a… horribly horrible conundrum, wasn’t it? If she did answer, she’d be handing authority of the situation over to him (well, he was older and stronger than her.. alas), but would it be the only condition under which he’d answer her question?

“… I asked you first!” Verdandi finally answered stubbornly.

The leopard frowned at her, before turning his back to keep walking. If she wouldn’t answer his question, he wasn’t going to answer hers.

But that did mean he’d have a tag along for a good amount of time, as whether it liked it or not, Verdandi was going to tag along right behind him.

Oh well..

He’d get rid of her eventually.
