Kenya woke up from his nap, carefully stepping over sleeping Mkia. He climbed up to the top of the nearest rock and reclined. It was just a usual day. Maybe he would find another lion corpse to gnaw on, but that was pretty unlikely. Lions didn't die that often. Sighing, he began scanning the horizon for some antelope or something. Anything to kill the hunger in his stomach. Woah woah. A cheetah? He noticed the athletic figure, obviously not a lion or leopard, in the distance. Hm. How do cheetah's taste?
Saiha walked tiredly, she had stayed up all night. She hadn't been able to sleep since she met Sellion. He was so odd, so creepy. In a way it haunted her, but. She had a feeling she was pregnant. With his crazy cubs. She couldn't imagine how these shitballs would come out to be like. And she didn't even like cubs! All these thoughts were stressing her out. What would she do? She looked off into the distance, staring straight at the green leopard. She couldn't make out what it was so she just shrugged it off and kept walking.
Kenya watched as the cheetah seemed to notice he was watching her. Feeling a bit flustered for being noticed, he jumped down from the rock and began to stalk her. Like she was his prey. He inched himself closer and closer to her, staying as low to the ground as possible. She would never see him coming! He was invisible!
Saiha's ears perked as she thought she heard something moving close by. She looked behind her, but didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. Hm. How weird. It wasn't until she got wind of a smelly young leopard that she knew that green thing was following her. "I can smell you." She stated. "I know you're there."
Kenya's eyes widened as she spoke out loud to him. No...no. She was bluffing there's no way she knew he was here. He continued to pad along behind her, and making sure to stop when she stopped. If only he could get close enough to her to pounce! Then he would have her and she wouldn't be able to get away!
This cheetah wasn't an idiot, she knew more than this little guy knew. Eventually she got fed up with his actions and turned around suddenly with a snarl. "Listen you little mongrel. You better get the ******** away from me unless you want your throat slit."
There. That should solve that problem. Oh hey...she could see him now. His ears were just barely visible over the edge of the grass. She had him...
The green leopard definitely wasn't expecting such a harsh reaction from the cheetah. Should he stop? Nah. Maybe he would ask the cheetah a few questions, it's not like she was a lion or anything annoying.
"Hey..." He said, peeking out from behind the grass. "See any...dead lions lately?"
It might be a weird question to ask someone you just met, but Kenya wasn't really thinking. He didn't really care. It was just a question after all. She shouldn't think of him as weird.
The cheetah raised an eyebrow. "What?" She asked. Was he really asking her about dead lions...was that it? How does she come across such strange personalities. You'd think there would be more normal creatures on the savanna. This was insane!
"No...no dead lions around here. Why were stalking me, runt?" She asked brashly.
"Oh...I was just. Wanting to ask you that. That's all." He said with a sly grin. "My name's Kenya. Not that you care, I can see it in your eyes. You just want me to get away from you."
The green leopard parked himself closer to her and sat down. "Do you think lions suck?"
"Why would I think that, kid? I mean lions are jerks and all, but I don't think they suck. I'm not really a big fan of leopards either really." Saiha said with a smirk. That outta get him going. At least the conversation would be interesting then. "Yeahh...leopards are pretty stupid." She added. "Yep."
She glared down at the young leopard. "So I suggest you go away. Kenya. Go back to your mommy."
Kenya nodded happily until she got to the leopard part of her statement. "HEY. Excuse me! I'm trying to make the world a better place. I guess we could be just as well off without cheetahs as well!" He said, his insides raging with hate. "You have no idea what I'm up to...and I suggest you keep your cubs close to you at night. And pray you don't wake up to find their insides half eaten and strewn aside in the grass around you."
The leopard gave her a nasty sounding growl and stomped off, back to the rock which he came from. The nerve of her!
The female couldn't help but smile at the little leopards threats. How could she take them seriously? He seemed so young and inexperienced at life.
"All right hon. Don't get your panties in a twist now." She said, breaking out into laughs.
Maybe life wouldn't be so bad after all.
