Why on Earth she was out in this weather was beyond Stasia. She let out a breath, watching the vapor twist and turn its way towards the sky. The kids wanted to come and play in the snow, and, not one to deny her kids something like that. So, that's how she ended up here, huddled in a coat on a park bench, ears feeling like they were about to fall off.
Ginger grinned, sitting at the top of her "castle", which in reality was the slide. "I princess ac-bat!" she said, giggling and looking down to her brother, waving. She then jumped, landing on the slide and slipping the rest of the way down. "Whee!" she said, giggling happily as she ran back around to the ladder.
Zemel opened his mouth to protest, but his sister was already jumping down the slide in some new made-up game of hers. He sighed, shaking his head as he went back to building a small snowman, if you could even call it that. He didn't see why she had to run around so much; staying in one spot and building was fun!
Nataya sat on the swings, yawning. She'd been feeling tired lately, but luckily, hadn't had one of her involuntary naps in a while. But the lethargy....that was odd. She began swinging slowly, doing something to keep her awake and alert.

Joshua and Vinny were dragging Vate by the hand to the park. "Come on, come on Uncle Vate!" The two boys called, "Let's have a snowball fight!" Vate sighed, and shook his head.
"You boys go on, I'll sit here." He said, sitting on the opposite end of the bench Stasia was on. The children looked disapointed for a moment, and then started forming balls in the snow.
Vinny threw one in Joshua's direction, but the young boy didn't have very good aim. It soared towards Zemel. Joshua threw one at Vinny, and hit his tail.

Zemel blinked, making a surprised sound as the snowball pegged him in the side of the head. He looked up, seeing Josh and another boy. He frowned, standing up. Why'd they throw it at him? He hadn't done anything! Obviously, someone had never had the joy of being in a snowball fight.
"Hey!" Ginger's voice carried over the space as, the way she saw it, her brother was viciously attacked. Picking up a hand full of snow, she threw it at the offender. She didn't think Josh would do such a thing, but the other boy...hmm...
Nataya blinked, watching the younger kids throw snow at each other. She tilted her head to the side, watching curiously; what on earth were they doing?
Stasia glanced at Vate, then at Josh. She knew Ben, and she knew Thali, so who was this guy? She'd heard "Uncle" in there, so she let it drop, turning back to keep an eye on the kids. She chuckled, watching them join in on their first snowball fight.

Josh and Vinny both laughed as the snowball hit Zemel. "Come on Zem!" Joshua said, smiling. "We'll show you how to play! Maybe we'll get Uncle Vate and your Mommy to play too!" Then he watched as Ginger attacked Vinny.
Vinny was hit on the side. "Hey!" He called back. He made another snowball, and threw it at her. It missed, and hit Vate in the face. "Sorry Uncle Vate!" He called.
But Vate was standing up. To the boys' surprise, he was smiling. "You'll pay for that!" He said.

Zemel blinked. Play...? It was a game? He picked up a handful of snow, and without packing it, threw it. It went about two feet and landed on the ground, not hitting anyone. He went forward, picking up the lump again, along with more snow, throwing it again.
Ginger laughed at the boy's aim, unable to hold it back. She grinned, picking up another handful of snow. Now that she knew this was a game, she was determined to win. She threw the snow at Vinny again, laughing cheerfully. This was fun!
Nataya got off of the swings, flitting over to her mother. "Momma, what are they doing?" she as stopped by the adult's side, curious. It looked like fun! Though, she wasn't sure if it was an actual game or not.
Stasia smiled at her daughter. "They're having a snowball fight, honey." she explained, picking up a handful of snow to demonstrate, shaping it before throwing it harmlessly at a tree.

Joshua smiled and Zemel and threw a snowball at him. "Come on!" He said, "We can build forts and have a snow battle! You can be on my team Zemel, you too Uncle Vate!"
Vate was not pleased with this arrangement. Not only was he an easy target because of his size, he was also one because his skin color made it hard for people to miss him. He wanted to talk to the beautiful lady that had been sitting at the bench. Maybe he could take her to dinner, if he was lucky.
Vinny heard Josh. "Hey, want to be on my team?" He asked Ginger. Maybe her Mommy and sister would want to play too.

Zemel ducked, barely dodging the snowball. "Okay!" he said, smiling at the thought. Building...he liked to do that! "I build." he said, nodding once and starting on the fort before anyone could tell him no. Besides, building was a nice, non-violent position, anyways. Hopefully, he wouldn't be a target for the snowy projectiles.
Ginger grinned, nodding. "I play, too!" she said, running over to him, scooping up a handful of snow. She looked over to her brother, Josh, and Vate, choosing her target. She let out a loud, happy cheer as she pegged her brother smack-dab in the center of the forehead. Now this was her kind of game!
Nataya smiled, walking cautiously towards the snowy battlegrounds. "May I join in?" she asked, polite as ever. After all, it would be rude to just jump in, wouldn't it? And she definately didn't want to be rude.

Joshua smiled at Nattie. "Sure!" He said, tossing a snowball at her. "You be on Vinny's team!" Vinny waved at her. He didn't know her very well, but he was sure they would be friends.
Vate aimed a snowball at Stasia. "Hey!" He called, "Come on, the snow's fine!" Maybe if he got her into the game, he could ask her on a date before they left the park. He hoped so.

"Hey!" Zemel said, frowning and looking up to see who hit him. When he saw the culprit, he just stuck his tongue out at the girl, going back to building. Honestly, why would anyone want to hit him? He was just an innocent fort-builder...
Ginger grinned, looking to the grown-up she didn't know. Letting out a high, tinkling laugh, she let another glob of snow fly, heading towards the enemy encampment.
Nataya smiled as the snowball hit her leg. "Okay." she said, smiling brightly before making her way over the Vinny's team. She picked up a handful of snow, throwing it towards the other team without even aiming.
Stasia blinked as she was hit. Her eyes locked on the source of the snowball, and she grinned. "Alright." she said, her tone sounding ever so innocent as she made her way over towards her daughter's team. She knelt down, starting to make ammo.

Joshua threw a snowball in Ginger's direction. "Wait till Zemel's done building to attack!" He told her. He ducked as Nataya's snowball came zooming his way. He threw another in her direction.
Vate smiled as Stasia joined in. He sent a snowball zooming her way. "Hey, if you aren't busy tonight, want to go for dinner?" He called. Maybe asking after sending a snowball at her wasn't the best way to ask..

Ginger just laughed at Josh; as if she'd actually set around while the enemy built up their defenses! She picked up a handful of snow, lobbing it at Josh. "Neva!" she called, grinning from ear to ear.
Zemel frowned, trying to hurry. By the looks of things, he didn't have much time left to fortify the fort.
Nataya giggled, catching the snowball. It crumbles in her hands, but she just mushed the snow back together, throwing it back. Momma was right; this was just ever so much fun!
Stasia might have answered him, had he not thrown the snowball. But, he had, which flipped some switch in her head. A wicked grin spread across her face as she started letting the snowballs fly, aiming for anything that moved. Uh-oh...

Josh frowned, if his friend was going to be attacked, he might as well attack the enemy. He threw two snowballs towards Ginger, and one at Nataya. They wouldn't beat him.
Vinny threw a snowball at his brother, grinning. "Cold yet?" He asked, teasing when it hit his target. He threw a snowball at Vate, who dodged it.
Vate was slightly disheartened when Stasia didn't answer. But he would take it as a challenge. There was a new gleam in his eyes.

Ginger ducked to the ground, realizing that they didn't have a fort! One of the snowballs hit her in the back and, after rolling around dramatically, crying out "I'm hit!", she got back up, lobbing handfuls of snow at Josh. He'd pay for that!
Zemel finished, managing to duck behind the fort just as his sister sent a flurry of snowballs their way. He timidly threw one at the other team, barely getting it a foot away from the fort.
Nataya blinked as she got hit in the face. That was cold! She laughed lightly, lobbing a snowball back at Josh playfully.
Stasia was still sending a torrent of snowballs at them; it was a wonder there was any snow left on their side. She laughed, definitely having fun.

Joshua ducked as snowballs came zooming his way. He formed three and aimed them at Ginger. Forming more, he tossed two at his brother. "I'll show you cold!" He called back. He blinked as he was hit on the side of the head by a snowball. He looked for the villian, and caught sight of Nattie. He smiled, even if she was the sugar plum fairy, he wouldn't go easy on her.
Vinny was hit by one of Joshua's snowballs. He shook it off and tossed one at his uncle. The elf seemed distracted, he kept looking at Nattie's Mommy. He wondered why.
It was true. Vate was staring. He stared until he was hit in the face with one of Stasia's snowballs.

Ginger squealed as the three snowballs hit her. She stood up, scooping up as much snow as she could, packing it together and throwing it at Josh. That would show him; she won cause hers was bigger!
Zemel covered his head, trying to hide from the barrage of snowballs flying back and forth. This DEFINITELY was not his kind of game! Why on Gaia had he agreed to play? He got as close to the fort wall as he could, using it to his advantage.
Nataya smiled innocently, giggling. She picked up another handful of snow, purposely not packing it down so that when she threw it, it simply fell apart and spread a pretty cloud of snow falling to the ground.
Stasia grinned; she'd hit the target. "It's not polite to stare." she said, her tone nonchalant as she lobbed yet another snowball over at the other team.
