-Spire Mountains-
Consider to be colder than the Hadarack Desert at nights, the Spire Mountains has proven to be most dangerous place in all of Farthen-Dur. This mountain is always covered in snow from top to bottom year around. Trees liter the lower elevations of the Spire while the mountain peaks and tops are nothing more than rock and snow. A mist that can be seen through by the inhabitants of Carvahall at the mountains edge, gives off a weary threatening look at all that sees it.
The Spire, meaning Deaths Home, has killed thousands of people. Those that have made it back and alive from within the mountains tell of horrific stories and are sometimes permanently damage in their minds. All of Farthen-Dur fears the Spire, even the King when he reigned. The King would sacrifice hundreds to make the portion of the Toark River that runs through the mountains clear and passable. A full mile on either side of the river has been cleared and the ground killed to keep the Spire from growing back.
These mountains are considered to be a living deity. Constantly moving and shifting, sounds that imitate from it forest, despite where it is and the elevation the mountains are always colder than the desert. The Spire is also considered to be a humorous mountain, liking to toy with its prey that wanders in to its home. It is believed that even the elves and dwarves are granted kindness from The Spire.
A story that is passed around to this day speaks of a young Carvahall girl that would become to be called the Tamer of the Spire.
*Hiya: This girl’s story will be explained in more detail in the Carvahall thread.*

Relena soared into the air, dipping in and out of the cloud line as she did. Below her rested the Spire Mountains and all their glory. The peaceful and quiet look from them could have fool any unknowing traveler that enter the mountains line. The look also told the knowing that the Mountains was free of occupants currently.
Relena began to dive towards the spire, falling below the tree line as she flew through the forest. The Spire, recognizing her presence, move any obstacles in her way as she flew about before landing. Branches turned and boulders rolled away from her flying form that would have normally blocked it due to her large size. She landed on the ground, immediately lowing herself to the ground to allow Gwen to jump off her back safely. Once Gwen did she rose up to her full height. Popping and cracking noises marked her changing back into a human.
Relena took a moment to bow her head slightly. The bow, if looked upon, would have been seen as bowing to nothing but Relena was indeed bow to something. She was paying respects to Spire kindness. It something she merely did as the Spire did not demand such things from here.
She turned to Qwen and wave an arm around wide in the direction of a cave, "Welcome to my home away from home. Follow me." Relena walked pass Gwen, heading for the mouth of the cave.

Relena turned to Gwen and pointed to the stone in her hands, "Because of that egg you hold Gwen."
For moment, Relena slipped into a room off to the side of the one they were in. She back shortly after, holding a large worn out book in her hands. Clearing off a table in the room she set the book down and open it, flipping through the pages.

She looked at her questioningly, I found a dragon egg? I thought it was a stone, she thought looking at the egg in her hands, as Relena flipped through the book.

As if hearing Gwen thoughts, Relena looked up at Gwen as she turned to her, "You don't seem surprised enough. While it common knowledge of my existence and protection of the village to it inhabitants, anymore than that is unknown..." Relena walked up to Gwen, "Just how do know more?"

((Falls down...ack...that came out totally wrong!!!! I can save this...must ^^'))
Relena rubbed her nose for a moment, "I am curious as how you know more, than the common carvahall person, about dragons. I am not saying you have a vast amount knowledge of dragons, but the villagers of carvahall only know of my simple existence, what I am, and the fact that I protect them. That is all." Relena looked down at Gwen, "You appear to more than that. Mine telling why or how you do?"
It was true, while carvahall knew she was a dragon, there was no way for them to know anymore than that. They surely would not be able to tell what a dragon egg was even if she mention that the rock had been an egg. After all, she didn't mention what type of egg it was. Even so, the people of Carvahall were always startled around her, Gwen, however, never seem to be.
Perhaps it was the fact that Gwen could be a dragon rider or simple intunition. Either way, Relena was curious to see if Gwen knew more. If she did, it might make her up and coming job a bit easier to perform and do.

((It's fine.))
Gwen looked up from the egg at Relena. "I don't know. Instincts, I guess," she stated quite bluntly. "When you flew me here, it seemed natural for me to ride on a dragon's back. Like I was meant to be a rider."

Relena arched an eyebrow, "You believe in the those old stories that are fading away?"
Relena had long since believe that those old stories had faded away. Perhaps a few mother and fathers were still telling them at nights to scare their children.

"They're not fading away," she nearly shouted. "My father was a story teller, to me at least. He said that there were still riders in the world. And he didn't believe that for one moment, the King was finally dead. And something tells me he's not." Gwen straightened. She wondered how a rider thought that those stories the she had grown up with were fading away.

"Oh," started Relena with amused look that faded into a frown quickly after, "Then your father was, or is, one of the rare few that bothers to remember and tell them. ...that strives to keep them alive, when their world has long since die."
Relena extended her arm and lightly tap the egg in Gwen hands with her index finger nail. A hollow sound echo back in respond, "Then again, perhaps that world is trying to put up one more fight to flourish, however, it is only one egg. Whether or not, if you are its rider has yet been determine. It could also be a dead egg too." She gave it another tap, as if expecting a different respond than before for some particular reason. Relena word held defeat in them. Despite her strong and solid stature, it was act to keep this world around her calm and happy. She had long ago acepted death and welcome it to return her to those she love and remember. To the world she belong too. She didn't believe the egg would change a thing, even if it was not a dead one. Perhaps the king did have some sort of victory after all. It would have been nice to live once again...but it would never happen. Still it was nice to hear that one out there still believe and kept that world alive through words.
"Tell me, is your father still alive," questioned Relena, distantly. Despite being the protector of Carvahall, she didn't know the people that closely as she once did. Only Horst family did she know with an great extent of knowledge. Gwen's though she did not know. Relena was not one to socialize that much anymore. She did her duty and rarely venture into town except when doing a fly by check upon it. Spire had long since become her home. Even Carvahall was pulling away from her world. She expected that the next generation or the one after would forget she existed and leave her to fade away in the Spire as both of them die.

Gwen looked aside, a tear in the corner of her left eye. "Both my parents are dead," she said, sadly. After Relena tapped the egg a second time, she felt something stir within.

((Have go...seeya later))
Relena looked up at Gwen, "Forgive me for bring up painful memories. I know the feeling all to well. I too have lost my own family...many, many, many years ago." Relena straightened and pulled away from Gwen and the egg, returning to the book she had been previous looking at.
It had been such a long time, that even her own knowledge of the world she belong too was fading from her. She found herself, more offend than not, looking through old books of the past to recall things that long ago she remember with great ease.

((Ok, bye.))
Gwen whipped her eyes. "It's fine, you didn't mean to," she told her. She thought back to the time before her parents were murdered. She had been happy, carefree, and causing mischief about the town.
