Thunder rumbled in the distance, and the smell of rain lingered heavily in the air. The blue furred god growled to himself for even wandering this far out, and now he didn't have enough time to get back. Kashiyoru shivered against the breeze.

It was a good time to start looking for a place to stay out of the--- Without warning a blanket of rain soaked him in mere seconds, followed by a loud crack of thunder. Kashi sighed and walked quietly along the path he'd been following and continued his fruitless search for a large tree or a cave of some sort.

Kyshi'in shut his eyes, leaning into the moisture soaked breeze that caressed his face and hair. Opening them icy blue met the muted blue of a darkening sky just before the rush of rain blurred his vision. Blinking the water away Kyshi'in shook his head, mane soaked and sticking to waterlogged fur.

Nose scrunching lightly, a gesture from Kau that had rubbed off on him over the centuries, he loosly knotted his tail. Satisfied it wouldnt drag through quickly muddening earth he moved forward with a speed and grace that did little to betray his age. The cold seeped through his body, working its way to the bones, leaving behind a dull ache.

Ears pinned back and eyes squinted at the pounding of rain against his body he continued on. Despite the rain near silence rang through Kyshi'in's ears without the company of his adopted daughter. Biting back a irritated sigh, Kyshi'in's mind wondered. Perhaps the other god/dess's prodding had some worth behind their words. It really was beyond time for him to take up a new mate, though he had met none that could keep his attentions for long.

Kashi sighed again. "This is useless." He shivered again and paused to look around. There weren't any trees that hadn't lost their leaves for winter, and there was no cave or ledge to take shelter under. It was all just open space, no matter what direction he looked in. He bolted feebly forward, hoping something would show up. Not watching where he was going, his paw landed itself into a rather deep puddle, dragging him down into the mud. Kashi slowly lowered his freezing body to the ground and wrapped himself in his tails for warmth. He stayed there shivering against the cold, and occasionally flinching at the thunder overhead.

Kyshi'in paused in his advance, head tilted and eyebrows raised at the sight just a ways to the left of him before snorting in amusement.
Not heisitating a beat Kyshi'in redirected his route, coming to stand directly before the shivering mass of tails. It had been... a while, even in Kyshi'in's standards, since he had seen the God of Trickery. Eyes roaved the twin blue flames and black mane just peeking out between tails. The other appeared much changed, at least, and the Time God had even heard whispered rumors that Aoi had even changed his name since.

"Aoi." Almost awkwardly the name fell from his mouth, unsure of how to address the younger god. Despite the rumors, Kyshi'in had never bothered pursueing any information on wether they were indeed more than just rumors.

Kashi slowly shifted and peered through a gap between two tails. "s**t." He mumbled to himself. This was the last position he wished to be caught in by the god he so idolized and admired. Slowly, Kashi rose to his feet and looked the god over. "Well Chronos, if you don't look lovely as usual." He mocked lightly, followed by a sneeze. "I think you've been misinformed." he mumbled. "The names Kashiyoru. Aoi Kurama wasn't bold enough for a god."

"Kyshi'in" the time god replied almost absentmindedly, keyholed eyes sweeping across the area. Even with no nearby shelter, he would not simply lie in the mud. Eyes flicked to the other a moment before turning back to his surroundings. Aoi - no, Kashiyoru - Kyshi'in corrected himself, had grown into his god status more then well. Turning completely from the other, to mask any emotion that could be betrayed by his eyes, Kyshi'in strode back in the direction he had previously been heading. Towards home, and towards Kau. "No need to force yourself, Kashiyoru, I will be on my way." lips quirked lightly "I had merely been interested to see who would consider this place 'shelter' ".

Kashi sneezed, then smirked. "So you've changed again, hm? Well, at least you still look the same." He lowered himself slowly back to the ground and flicked his flame tipped ears back. "What shelter?" He asked. "There's no place to take cover from the rain, so I improvised." He flicked a soaked tail. Despite being drenched from head to tail, his mane still stood on end, stubbornly.

Kashi turned his head to watch Kyshi as he walked away. "Where exactly are you headed?" He couldn't hold back the curiosity.

"Home." The word fell thickly from his mouth as he attempted to flick back heavy, water soaked hair. It was hardly such, with the young kit he had come to adore not currently residing in it. Left with one of the few Gods Kyshi'in could bring himself to trust. Giving the sky a withering glance, he supposed that at least they were having their fun.

"You're welcome to come." The words slipped from his muzzle before his mind caught up with him, proding him, reminding him that inviting a God of Trickery into him home wasnt the finest of his ideas. Brushing the thought aside he threw a quick glance over his shoulder before continuing on.

Kashi watched Kyshi'in walk for a moment longer before raising to his feet again and following after. It took a lot of effort to move with his thick furred tails full of water. The last thing he wanted to do was drag them through the mud. He slipped up beside Kyshi'in and let his usual twisted grin set itself across his muzzle. "So you want to take me home, hm?" he chuckled playfully as he eyed to road ahead. "I don't see how anyone could live way out here..." he paused for a moment. "There nothing out here."

Kyshi'in rummbled, brushing the comment off. Giving the other a side long glance before focusing his eyes back to the path before them. "Oh? Then what is one such as yourself doing out here?"

The Time God found it didnt take long to reach the cliffs, the two moving exponentially faster then Kyshi'in ever had with Kau in tow. Eyes skimming the rocky surface he stopped before a small opening, just big enough to fit one of his size through. Not bothering to see if Kashiyoru was following he slipped through, flattening his ears against his head as earring scrapped across rock.
A few paces later and the mouth opened wider, revealing a small, but cosy, pocket in the cliffs side. It wasnt much, but it was dry.

A huff of air passed through Kysh'ins lungs as he let himself collapse, wearieness finally catching up to him. He had been away too long, he mused, noting to take a long break from his travels. Methodically he tugged at the leather bounding his tail, letting whispy strands splay about the cave to dry faster. Finally lifint his eyes to the opening the fleeting wonder if Kashiyorus multiple tails could even fit through passed his mind.

Kashiyoru opened hims mouth to reply, but couldn't really think of one. Why was he all the way out here? By the time he finally gave up Kyshi'in was making his was trough a small opening in the side of a cliff. Kashi waited a moment then attempted to make his way trough as well. After a long time of struggling, he stopped and let his tails braid themselves into one large tail and he made his way forward through the cramped opening. He breathed a sigh of relief as the opening widened to a small area.

Kashi took a moment to examine the area and let his tails down. No sooner did the thought cross his mind, did his tails react. They pulled apart in a quick snapping motion, they left a spray of water across the wall in their wake.

Kashi frowned at his tails, then admired the mark they left on either side of the opening behind him.

As Kashi turned back he noted that Kyshi'in was laying down and that his tail was sprawled out around him. Kashi made his way closer and lay himself next to the lounging god. After a few minutes of quiet grooming, he moved to Kyshi's fur in an attempt to help him dry a little more.

Kyshi'in looked blankly at walls, dark slashes disrupting the once cream colored stone. Bright colored eyes returned to watching the other god, silent as he considered the trickster before him. Ears flicked back, gold metal clinking delicatly together, as the ohers touch startled him from his thoughts. Claws scrapped at the stone beneath them, an almost awkward uneasyness creeping up his spine. Heisitating a moment Kyshi'in leaned forward, burrying muzzle in the fur below Kashiyorus' jaw and returning the gesture. Eyebrows knit together lightly, unused to the feel of anothers fur on his own aside from Kau and one other; a shadow of unrestrained emotion crossing his face at the far burried memory.

Kashi flinched slightly, uncertain as to what Kyshi was up to when he felt his muzzle touch Kashi's neck. His fur stood on end as Kyshi began to move slightly. Kashi let out a small breath of relief and tried to calm his racing heart, as he slowly continued to groom Kyshi and nibbled at the base of him ear.

"You're alone tonight." He whispered with a heavy breath. "Is something wrong?"
PostPosted: Mon Dec 22, 2008 7:00 pm

"No," Kyshi'in replied back lightly, pulling away from his ministrations to the other. "Kau is with another." Not elaborating on the subject the Time God stretched, joints popping from sitting still so long. He gave the other an odd look "I will leave to retreive her soon."

Kashi chuckled at Kyshi. "Getting old...er?" He quirked a brow at him and leaned forward. "Then we should relish in our time alone." He let the words roll off his tongue as his grin widened slightly. "It's been a long time since we last saw each other. A lot has changed." the trickster eyed the other. "I have missed you." he admitted quietly.
