AIM LOG: Manda & _ p a o cx

A cheetah femme quietly buried the carcass of her lunch, not wanting the vultures to start pecking away at what was left of it. While she knew she needed to eat to survive, it didn't mean that the life she took was less important than her own, and she didn't want to demean its spirit by allowing the vultures to take what isn't rightfully theirs. Or...at least, get yet another free meal thanks to her. Those things did nothing for themselves, so why should she help them? With a final pat on the little mound in front of her she smiled and stood from where she lay to have a look around. "Not a soul in sight.." she murmured. She missed having someone to talk to...

Ironically, another female cheetah was close by ... and thinking more or less the same thing. She'd been out on her own now for a long while ... searching for her lost cousin, and hoping... that the dream she'd had that had started this search was what it had seemed to be. A true dream, more or less. Something she knew, somewhere inside her, to be real. Sighing softly, she padded up over a little rise, and blinked. Another cheetah! Startled, she stared for a moment or two before starting to move again, just hoping the other was friendly.

As her eyes scanned the immediate area around her, she noticed something coming her way. She would've jumped for joy, even if the other wasn't friendly company (though if it was trying to stalk her it was doing a very poor job..). It meant that she wasn't alone, which was good enough for her. Naya squinted a bit so she could see more clearly, and almost did jump for joy when she noted that it was another cheetah. It'd been a while since she saw one of her own, and it made her a bit restless. So to calm down she took a deep breath and sat down, a smile on her maw as she waited for the other to get closer.

Eisheth could see that smile already and smiled in return - picking up her pace as she came closer. It really would be nice to have someone else to talk to for a bit. "Hello!" she called out after a moment or two.

"Hello to you too," she returned the greeting, tail swaying slowly behind her. Friendly company, and Naya was flushed with both relief and anxiousness. It really had been a while since she mingled with other cheetahs. It made her miss her family a bit, but not unbearably so, so it was still nice. "It's been a while since I last saw one of our kind. What brings you out here?" Her smile was welcoming enough, as she noticed the other picked up her pace a little bit.

Eisheth nodded. "Same for me," she said quietly, smiling slightly as she came closer and sat down across from the other. "I'm searching actually... I guess you could call it a bit of a quest. I'm looking for my cousin."

Naya tilted her head in curiosity, exhaling as a breeze swept past them. "A quest? Sounds like fun." Her smile widened a little. "Your cousin, so another cheetah, I take it?" Naya thought back to the last time she ran into another cheetah and frowned. "Well I did run into one other cheetah before...or...sort of. She wasn't exactly a cheetah, but...maybe?"

Eisheth blinked at that, then laughed softly. "Yes... she is another cheetah. She... was unfairly banished from our home years ago. Most think she's dead. But I ... I had a dream about her, and I know she's still alive," she said quietly - hoping the other would believe her about the dream. Some didn't. "Ah! I'm sorry. I'm Eisheth."

The femme smiled sheepishly at the other. "Well I've heard that some take in cubs that are in need, without considering the species." Naya cleared her throat, feeling a little dumb for asking such a question. Her new company though, renewed her inner spark at the idea of seeing someone who is thought to be dead in a dream. She'd never heard of such a thing before, and her natural curiosity got the best of her for a moment. "A dream? Wow! Did she talk to you? What'd she say? Do you get any more dreams about her?"

Eisheth nodded at that, smiling. "Yes... I've heard of that as well. I hope that may have happened to her. She was very small when ... it happened." She sighed softly, and then was distracted by that next question. "Ah... not... really. It wasn't that clear. More like... just flashes of seeing her as I knew her. Then older...but I knew it was still her. And I knew it meant she was still out there, somewhere."

Naya flushed with embarassment, and murmured an apology almost inaudibly when she caught herself asking so many questions and ignoring her introduction. "I'm sorry, didn't mean to go off like that. Just...stuff like that intrigues me. Um...I'm Naya, nice to meet you." Her thoughts then immediately jumped to the answers to her questions, and she rolled them around a bit in her mind. "Flashes? So...like, visions of her and an older version of her?" She put on a thoughtful expression, though what she said next hardly reflected it. "Interesting...."

Eisheth smiled gently, and bobbed her head a bit. "It's all right. A pleasure to meet you, Naya. And... trust me, it's better than not being believed at all. I get that too." She tilted head at the next words, and then nodded. "Yes, exactly. I also saw a little of the sort of landscape reflected in her eyes... but it wasn't very remarkable," she admitted with a little shake of her head. In other words, not much help.

She frowned a little when Eisheth shook her head, not wanting to think that her search might not turn out so well. Naya, after all, was always one to look on the bright side, so she smiled encouragingly. "Have you gotten any more visions of her recently? Maybe the closer you get the more frequent your visions, and the farther you get the less frequent they come?" Yes, she had a bit of an imgination, and she knew it was a long shot. But it was still worth trying, right? "I really hope you find your cousin.." she finished, with a small smile.

"I haven't yet... but ... I think maybe it might mean that I'm on the right track, still," she said slowly. She just got that feeling, for some reason. "I think ... that if I went really wrong, I might dream about her again." She smiled at the other, recognizing the attempt to encourage, and being grateful for it. "Thank you."

Naya's smile widened just a bit as she stood up, feeling restlessness in her legs. After lunch she was always used to moving around a lot, so sitting still for a conversation, no matter how interesting or how pleasant it was, felt strange. "I'm sorry," she said as she stretched a little bit. "I get a little restless if I sit still after a big meal," and she pointed to the little mound of dirt nearby. "I uh...buried it so the vultures can't have their time of day." The femme shrugged, the smile still lingering. "I think I'm gonna go for a walk, care to join me?"

"That's a good idea," Eisheth replied at that, nodding. Something she hadn't really thought of herself... but she might try it sometime. "A walk sounds nice, though," She agreed, getting up to join the other cheetah.
