... Atlantis.
I'm sure everyone's heard of it, but how many of you think about it? It really fascinates me... I remember watching the Disney cartoon of it, and that's where i really started to think about it... and (as everyone knows i'm a huge Stargate fan) they found "atlantis" in a different galaxy... but they linked it back to Antarctica.
But it's really made me wonder..... they've got the technology to reach the oceans floor (and are working on getting down that massive trench)... yet they still haven't found any traces of it.... But we know there is land under all the ice in Antarctica... (if you've read my other discussion Are we the only ones??, you know i believe in the idea of aliens already visiting earth) and space is soooo big...... but i don't quite agree with the TV series about it being in a different galaxy..... I think it really IS in Antarcica.. it would explain why we haven't found it yet. As for is sinking into the ocean... i'm neither for or against that... with all the ice covering the land (which would have been water) in a way that could be considered as being swallowed my the ocean.... so it may still be standing... just with tonnes of ice covering it. But because the ice is so think... its also possible that it did sink (sort of like a big crater)... just look at Venice... it's sinking. It's possible that Atlantis was built on top of a giant air pocket that eventually gave way.
(sorry im putting waaaaaay to much into this blaugh ) Please tell me your thoughts on Atlantis

Alantis huh? i think that it coul very well be one somewhere. but an underwater city? its just different. When could have men built a city? we have different time periods where the earth has lived, yet only certain things lived in those periods. There was also once where all 7 contantes were one. so could it possiably mean, that alantis was created soo long ago, that we cant find traces of it, and it floated to what is now Antartica, anc sunk?

Good point. We don't know how long ago 'Atlantis was built. Si it's possible maybe anything left from that time has been eroded to the point it simply isnt there anymore. But the idea of finding it still fascinates me. And i still favour the Antarctica theory. it's soooo big it would take lifetimes to explore it all. And if it is there i think we'll all be long gone before they find it sad

not nessessaryly. If the global climate change keeps happening, and melting the polar ice cap, we might be able to drill deep enough. The thing is, drilling something that deep is exspensive. If you seen Alien Vs Preditor, that equipment is not cheep. So there for, noone thinks its important enough to drill. Not only that, but it would take weeks if not months to drill that deep. Not to mention the fact that it would be extreamly cold down there.
but it may be possiable it was down there. However, depending on the time of age, and when everything happen, it might have been during ther ice age, everything froze, then sunk. that would be very interesting. BTW you bored with our roleplay?
