((This rp takes place on the Firekin-Simo Pridal borders, as Ra'd is outside of the lands though Kai resides within them))
Kai and her brother had already made an impression here. They had both been accepted into these lands into their quarantine, they had spoken with Kidondo, and told him their story, and she felt relieved to know that Kidondo knew where they came from, knew of their blood and their seer abilities, and knew she would not be kicked out of these lands for what she never asked for. It was good news, and it made her smile.
Flicking her tail she was making her way from the interior of the pride, heading towards the borders to tell Ra'd that Kidondo knew of their mother, how she was a goddess, and they were still allowed here.
Kai also wanted to tell him of the slates she and her brother had found, that one day he would see them, and perhaps one day his form would be incised into the rock as well. Kai also wanted to see how he was doing, and how Ryujin was, she just wanted to see him, and know how he was.

It hadn't been long since the group split in two. With Kessek's help he and Ryujin had found a safe place to stay, thankfully. It was also an ideal place for the two to spar, or...basically for Ra to whip his companion into shape. Ryujin was doing alright as far as training goes, but Ra knew he had a lot more potential. He just needed time, which luckily for him was what they plenty of for the time being.
Ryujin, though, was now happily conked out at their temporary home, a bit beat up from the day's work but otherwise fine. Kessek was resting as well, so Ra took the chance to sneak away to the borders. It was where he did his thinking now, as opposed to the watering hole back in the Pridelands.
Also..well, sometimes he'd sneak away on the off-chance that Kai would come along. Sometimes.

Where was he? Darn it, she should have sent for Kessek or something, Flicking her til crimson hues scanned the horizon, "Where are you," Kai said openly, letting her tongue sip out of her mouth slightly. She would roar out to him, but then again, she didn't want to stir up trouble of Ra'd coming too close and Kai inviting him in.
Flicking her tail she spotted several boulders that were clustered together upon a sand dune where a lone brittle cicada tree was broken and dry in several places. Lack of water let it burn in the sun's rays.
Climbing her way to the top of the boulders she peered around, she was surprised she had not seen it before but she guessed it had been covered by sand. "Ra'd!" she called out towards the wind, hoping her voice would be carried to his ears.

The adolescent was pacing, thoughts running into and out of his mind, each one a bit more mundane than the last. There was only so much he could think about after a full day's worth of training, and it was a miracle that he had enough strength to pace as fast as he was...well, pacing. His ears twitched, though, as a faint sound of that familiar voice reached them. Ra looked around, almost frantically, for the source. When he saw nothing, he furrowed his brows, determined to find where the voice had come from.
The golden-marked male ran toward where he thought the voice had come from, hoping he wouldn't accidentally step past the pridal borders. He wasn't allowed in, and if he so much as slipped up even once he knew it'd hurt his chances of being allowed into the pride in the future. That wasn't something he'd be able to handle..
He skid to a stop, breathing heavily as he tried to catch his breath. Gold eyes scanned the area in front of him, squinting now and again in hopes of seeing something. Nothing, and he stomped the ground with a paw.
"Damnit.." he muttered, frustrated. "Kai!" he called back, hoping someone would come forward.

Hearing his voice call back to her, suddenly she felt a smile cross her face and she turned and darted for where it had come from. Paws diving into sand as they beat like a war drum hell-bent on getting where her heart was telling her to race to. Crimson eyes searching, almost frantically in hope and wonder she finally spotted the dark black and gold marked male she had come t know and grow so fond of. She smiled and as she felt herself pass on the edge of the firekin simo lands, she skid to a halt, almost tackling him, but she resisted the glorious temptation.
"There you are!" she said with an exhausted sigh of relief, heart pounding in her chest, "I was wondering where you were, I got worried darn you!" she noticed that Ra'd was alone, adn figured Ryujin had to be resting somewhere, or wanted to have Ra'd come alone, Ryujin understood Kai and Ra'd's bond, which she was grateful for.
"I missed you..."

Ra grinned when he caught sight of the fast-approaching female. He was, of course, happy to see her, and happy to know that he wasn't going crazy after all. He smiled apologetically when she said that he'd worried her, but his grin came back soon afterward. "Sorry.." he said with a sigh, then leaned forward and touched his nose to hers. It was a fun habit he managed to get into, and it gave him an excuse to get as close to her as he was when he did it.
"I missed you too, Kai."
At that he leaned back and took a look around, glad to see that she'd come alone as well. Sometimes Ka would tag along, and at those times it was a little uncomfortable for him.

"Don't worry, I left him behind this time," Kai said with a wink. The sky was beginning to become dark and soon the only light would be from the moon and stars. Ra'd was growing up, almost leaving her behind in the dust, his mane was coming in so nicely, almost full now, and soon it would become a full ring around his head and neck, full and soft, and she would play with it, that was certain.
Kai had so many question, wanted to know how Ryujin was, how they had been doing, but everything stopped when she couldn't figure out what words to voice first, and she was stuck, just looking at him, then blushing she let her eyes fall to the sand beneath her paws.
"I wish the moons would pass faster so that you and Ryujin could come back here and be welcomed in with open arms, your paws on the sand of the Simo, I can't wait Ra'd, because when we're apart like this, it...doesn't feel right..." she felt alone sometimes, but didn't tell Ka because he would worry, but sometimes, she worried too, of what it meant to her heart.

He let out a chuckle when she mentioned that she'd left her twin behind. It was amusing, even from afar, to watch her irritate her brother. Ka, though fairly independent, didn't like having his twin out of sight for too long. Even Ra knew that, so after he gathered himself he listened to what Kai had to say. A small frown crossed his maw, but he quickly dropped it and pulled on a rather neutral expression.
Ra knew that he had to show a stronger side of himself, especially now, and it wouldn't help if they were both depressed about their current situation. There wasn't anything either of them could do about it, so he knew he had to make the most of it. Painful as it was, he'd make the most of it.
"I know.." he answered, nudging her lightly. "Soon, I'm sure," he went on with a sad smile. "It'll be soon, so we just have to be patient. Besides, Ryujin needs all the time he can get for his training. We don't want him joining the pride as a complete wimp, after all." It was all he could to try and get her to smile. For now, it'd have to do.
"Ah, and I was gonna say so earlier, but Ka's gonna worry if you stay out too long.."

Kai laughed softly at the mention of her pure black pelted brother. True, he was not as strong, fast, or fierce as the rest of them were, but he would become the same with time, and with Ra'd's help. She knew that though their time apart might be harder for Ryujin, as he was eldest, and left behind, that whatever the experience that befell his paws, he would succeed from it all.
Kai flicked her tail, looked towards her and Ka's den, towards home, and back at Ra'd, "I know, he will worry when he realizes, but time keeps growing on us both, and I just want the moons to pass faster, though I cannot do it, though I wish I could," she swept a paw agianst the sand, and closed her eyes, thinking of how the once green grass below her paws was now sand, and how she liked the feel, liked the change.
"You'll have to come again, I don't know if I can go so long without seeing you," she said softly, gritting her jaw slightly, "Come back soon, here, again?" she asked, looking up at his eyes, "In a few nights time?"

He understood. Of course he did...it was just as painful for him when it came to them being separated the way they were. He kept tight control on his emotions though, for both their sakes, as well as Ryujin's. He, of the four of them, had the least resolve to join. It was hard to believe he'd lasted this long being apart from his younger siblings, and it was no doubt because Ra wasn't giving him any opportunities to show his weaker side.
"I know," the male said with a sigh. He let an almost awkward silence fall between them before finally agreeing to her request. "I will, in two nights' time we'll meet again. I promise...but right now I think it's best if we part ways for the night. Ryujin's completely defenseless when he's asleep, I can't be away for too long.."
Ra wasn't sure what else to say, actually. He was content enough to see her for now...and what he said was the truth. He couldn't leave their temporary home for too long else risk Ryujin's safety. The adolescent gave a lonely smile as he leaned forward and touched her nose to his once more. "Good night.."

Kai bit her lower lip in an almost pitiful frown, more like a child who had just gotten their favorite toy taken from them, but they were innocent from the troubles. She understood though, she didn't how how much Ryujin had improved in fighting since they parted, so it was best to not be away for too long, "Tell him, when he wakes again, that I miss him, that Ka and I miss him, please?" she asked softly.
As he touched his nose to hers, she closed her eyes, felt a tingle, and her ears fell back, "Good night," she pulled away and went to walk back home, but she stopped, looking back at Ra'd, and she bit her lower lip again.
One more thing...
She ran back to where he stood, and licked his cheek and darted back for home over the sand, her pawprints blow away with the wind.
Two nights..she'd only have to wait two more nights.

He watched her walk off, his frown slowly getting replaced by his usual serious expression. It was best, after all, to never get caught off guard in this place. Ra raised a brow, though, when she suddenly ran back. He almost said something, too.. and then she licked his cheek, and he somehow lost his words.
His resolve to end the night was almost all gone at that point, and as he watched Kai's figure disappear into the night he heaved a sigh. Ra forced himself to stay put as she left, brows furrowed in frustration at their predicament.
"Damnit all," he muttered as he finally stood and headed for their campsite. "How pathetic, to be held back by something like an imaginary line.."
