I just recently watched the remake of the 1951 The Day the Earth Stood Still. I really liked how they used special effects. Totally realistic Gort version! Then afterwards, I watched the original version. I think I was supposed to watch it the other way around but, heck xd
The original version was a Michael Rennie version (he also starred in the 1952 Les Miserables). The remake version was released recently where Keanu Reeves starred as Klaatu (Neo in the Matrix Trilogy)
A friend of mine liked the original version better but some liked the remake. So I just wanted what you guys think. question

I liked the new version, the old one too.
Both movies are different to be honest but still good for different reason heart

I really haven't seen the first one or this new one so Take my opinion for what it's worth. sweatdrop
I have heard that the remake sucks; but then I had no real interest in it to begin with. After the Matrix Trilogy I lost interest in Keanu Reeves movies.

I adore the remake for several reasons (ex. it was the first time I thought Keanu Reeves was sexy). However, I haven't watched the original yet (though I'm planning to) so I'll wait and see which I prefer.

I haven;t seen it yet, but from what I've heard people said Keanu just sleptwalked through his role, and it was kind of bland.
but oh well. I really love watching the trailer though, mainly because of music, its so pretty

Keanu Reeves couldn't act his way out of a wet paper bag. That movie was awful and I sincerely wanted my money back. The only reason I didn't was because the graphics were pretty hot.
