After leading Zemel away from the various chatterings and giving of gifts, Lucien turned to face the boy eagerly. With a smile so bright that it could have lit up the entire room, Lucien extended his arms with poorly concealed excitement. Lucien had dragged Grace all over town to find the perfect "cooking with mommy" hat - at least in his opinion - and then insisted that she help him hand-sew and decorate a gingerbread man plushie for the very simple fact that Zemel reminded him of gingerbread. The two gifts were wrapped individually, both in sunshine yellow wrapping paper and orange ribbon, and both had a very messy "To: Zemal Zemel" scrawled across a plain white card.

Zemel took the packages, smiling brightly at Lucien. "Thank you!" he said, wondering what they were. Taking a seat on the floor, he opened his first present, eyes widening. "Thankyouthankyouthankyou!" he said, grinning brighter than a hundred-watt bulb as he put the chef-hat on. Oh yes, he'd be wearing that proudly for quite a while. He then ripped open the other one, holding the gingerbread man plushie. "Pretty!" he said, hugging the plushie tightly. He could describe these gifts in three words: best gifts ever! He hopped back up to his feet, still smiling at Lucien. "Thank you!" he said, for the third time in a rather small span of time.

Lucien grinned and clapped his hands together excitedly.
"The first present I knew you wanted, and so I searched all over town with mom for the perfect one and then we made the man we got it from em-em-, we made him 'broid your name on it so ever'one will know it's yours," he gestured to the name eagerly. "And then me and mom made the ginge'bread man because you kind'a remind me of ginge'bread," he paused for a moment to catch his breath, still buzzing with excitement. "I'm so glad you like them." he finished, laughing fondly at the now chef-hat-wearing boy infront of him.

Zemel reached up, fingers gently brushing over the embroidery; he didn't quite know his letters yet, so he'd have to take Lucien's word for it that it was his name. "You made it?" he asked, looking from the gingerbread plush to Lucien, looking uber impressed. He couldn't even draw this well, let alone sew. "Don't like them..." Zemel said, grinning. "Luvvum!" he said, laughing along with Lucien. "Best gifties! Thank you!"

Lucien grinned, if possible, even wider at Zemel's words. "Well, mommy helped a lot, because I can't sew that well. Plus it's dang'rous and I could sew my fingers together and then I couldn't sew anymore gifts!" He giggled and looked over his shoulder. "Should we go back to everyone now?" he asked, grabbing the various pieces of torn yellow paper at his feet and scrunching them up into a little ball to dispose of. "I think there are s'more people here now."

Zemel was surprised; he'd never known sewing could be dangerous! He smiled, nodding. "We go back." he said, smiling and nodding. "Thanks again." He looked back out into the gym; all the stranger-peoples made it rather intimidating, but he couldn't just stay by the wall the entire time. He picked up a piece of the wrapping paper and, deciding that it was pretty, stuffed it into his pocket.
