Bankakyou & Sialeeds
Sialeeds:
The sun always set too early. It probibly wouldn't have been -so- bad if the crickets didn't take it upon themselves to humm the -moment- that the sun had vanished beyond the mountains in the distance. Evenings always had the lioness in a bitter mood- one that would make a raging rhino seem pleasent. No matter what her sister- or any four-legged beast said, there was no such thing as too much sleep.
She groaned out a series of slurred curses as her paws shifted under her and brought the lioness to a slumping stand. The fur along her head, neck, and back stood up in every direction as a result of a restless day of napping. She also hated the wet season. The humidity left her fur sticky and unmanagable.
"Ugh." Was the only comment in regard to her appearence. She didn't need a puddle or a watering hole to know that she was an absolute nightmare. The fur standing along her forearm where she had drooled- yes drooled - was enough.
Taking a quick look around, Sialeeds ducked herself lower to the ground- just below the grass level- to make her way to the nearby watering hole. If she had any luck- which she normally did not- it would be unoccupied. She wasn't fit to be seen by even prey beasts.
Bankakyou:
Unfortunately, the gods had dediced to only bless the over-napped and yet underslept lioness partially, on this warm and soggy night. She had been fortune enough not to be seen yet, the grasses and topography of the area conceeling her a little too well - even with her light pelt and all. The unfortune part, although, was the watering hole that she was occupying was not barren.
In fact, it was bustling with life, or that's what the darker pelted cat believed, as he watched the water through the dimming light, lounging quietly against the base of a very rare, but very appreciated tree that had found solace and a water source near the even rarer watering hole. He had, actually, been there for awhile, but hadn't seen any sense on getting up and doing any kind of exercise that day - it had been hot, and muggy, and mugginess always did terrible things to his wonderful coat - let's not start on the heat.
It was actually luck that he even heard the sounds of the lioness as she made her way to the watering hole, his large ears swivelling at the sudden sounds in his quiet little temporary home. Lifting his head, he wondered who had the -pleasure- of walking in to his domain, long tail thumping on the ground as he struggled with himself as to if he really cared to find out.
The curious part of himself won, and with a large yawn, he lifted himself to full height - a well rounded Leopard male, he believed, his mother raised him right she did, and gave out a loud call to whomever. "Good evening! I hear you, but I can not see you~ I don't think I like this very much, I think we should meet~." He called out, smooth voice travelling through the grasses, investigating who may just as well hear it.
Sialeeds:
She could see it! The edge of the watering hole. Unoccupied- maybe, just maybe, just -once- the gods, spirits, or whatever other 'all seeing' figure had a shread of humanity left for her.
Then the voice.
She stopped, frozen in her tracks with her eyes locked longingly on the water's edge. A male! She turned her head just slightly, ears rolling up over her head as she took a few quiet sniffs. Damn her luck twice- he was down wind.
A curse masked under a thick hiss sounded from between her fangs. Frantically, she began licking over her forearms, down to her paws- which then proceded to wipe and comb over her head and her neck. Unfortunately, her poor back was left unattended.
"Hm." She smirked lightly, then sat upright. Whomever it was didn't -need- to see her back to meet. Did they? She brought her head up, gracefully as ever, to stand above the grass line.
Bankakyou:
The ever-growing sound of bustling only rose the interest that the leopard had in whatever was hiding within the grassy hill that opened up into the small watering hole - the grasses waving too and fro from the reaction and movements of whatever it was that they were conceeling.
Taking up residence outside the perimeter of the little knoll, he waited patiently for whatever was in there to make itself known - he didn't want to spoil the surprise it may have had in store for him, and he was definitively an easy going guy. He'd wait for awhile, that is. With a slow thump of his tail, he watched gracefully with purple eyes. Just enough sound to remind whoever it was that he was around.
It was about then that she rose, and Bakakyou believed that his evening was getting much better.
"Good morning sunshine." he graced her with, a wide and yet cool smile, only to reflect her graceful smirk with her entrance. She was much prettier and less dangerous than what he was expecting - to be honest - and it made him realx just a little more (if that was possible.) "What honour do I have tonight for your grand arrival into this litte humble abode, you don't seem like a local." He purred out, officially interested in the new face.
Sialeeds:
Sialeeds raised a slow eyebrow as she beheld the male in front of her. A leopard. A thick one at that... best not get on his bad side. At the complement she made a quiet 'tsk' sound and tipped her head to one side, eyes rolling upwards. A flattering male... still. Best keep on his good side.
"Well good afternoon yourself." She answered cooly, almost dully. "You owe a dry throat and a groggy head... and to what do I owe the unnessicary flattery?"
Bankakyou:
The dark cat attempted an innocent look when he was being once overed by the lionness - general nature reminding him that she was, indeed, a rather well filled lionness, and lionnesses were, infact, the hunters of their race. One aggressive move, and he knew that this was a do and dash situation, as all new acquaintances were - even if he didn't physically show it on his face.
When she made the small little sound and rolled her head, though, he hailed it as a good sign, and relaxed ever so slightly, basking in the comfort of a new soul in his little 'home'. A calm, but slightly dulled sounding voice met his ears, as she finally started a conversation with the slightly smaller feline.
"A fine afternoon it is, indeed." He started, before offering up a short shrug. "A calm attitude and a chance meeting is what I have owed to this, I would suggest a satiation drink, and maybe a good long stretch to dispell any uncomfortable feelings," he owned up, attempting to win a good side with her, seeing her distress due to oversleeping.
Sialeeds:
"Hm." She slowly rolled her head to her shoulder, giving the lioness a clear view of her...still very disorderly back. She couldn't be seen like this- not by a male. A female- sure, it might just drive the she-fleabags away to see her looking roughed up and wild. A male? Whether or not she had any intention on persuing them- even for fun - to be seen as anything less than a graceful, strong, and -well kept- female was simply not done.
"If you could give me a minute to straighten up." She glanced back to him dully, "Then I suppose we can share a drink."
A small chuckle rumbled in the pit of her chest. He didn't seem all that threatoning at least. Calm, lazy- or a combonation of both. Either way, he'd not sent one aggressive signal her way. There was no reason to act rude.
Bankakyou:
Taking the initiative to take a few steps back without looking rude, he gave her a curt nod, his soft smile never changing or leaving his maw, purple eyes dancing with amusement at the whole situation. Such a lady she was! It was very rare to find such a lass with high personal attentiveness.
"Take as much time as you like, my dear," he started, nodding softly and attempting to find interest in something else in the clearing. "This is basically home to me, so I'm not going to go anywhere very far in the future." He finished, before settling down and starting the polite wait.
Sialeeds:
Dear!? The word sent a shiver up her spine, which couldn't help her current prediciment at all. "Don't get too cuddly with me yet." She warned him in that dull, almost bored tone of hers, "You don't want to see me in a bad mood."
The lioness offered only a short glance before her head turned once more. Twisting herself about to such an extend that her right paw was lifted off the ground, Sialeeds set to work on ironing out the mess that had become of her pelt during the course of the day time.
Bankakyou:
"My apologies, my tongue sometimes oversteps my mind before it can keep it down." He stated, a sense of sincerity in his voice. So there was another side to this lioness, a more rough and tumble personality that the dulled tone in her voice was hiding. It made the leopard interested, but, he sat on those words, keeping in mind that in the department of strength, she had priority over him, tenfold.
Never turning back to regard her, he waited patiently for her to finish up with preening. AS if it had taken over his mind though, Bankakyou couldn't help but take a very dark brown paw and lick it, before cleaning his own face. May as well at least look presentable in the face of a lady.
Sialeeds:
"I'll say." Was her simple reply between licks. A charmer, she was sure, but it took one to know one. He meant well enough- or so it seemed for the moment. It wasn't safe to assume either way- but a little fun never hurt anyone. It was rare that fate presented an oppertunity for her to match her wit against another- especially a male.
She paused a moment. When...was the last time she'd had a chance to toy around with a male? When was the last time she'd even seen another male? After a moment or two, she decided it wasn't nearly as important as her present grooming.
Many long, quiet moments would pass before the lioness stepped smoothly from the long grass and gave the leopard a slow tip of her head towards the watering hole.
