Story- The travelling nomads of the Fers desert have always kept to them selves. The only time they enter towns is to trade there goods or replenish there supplies but other than that there was no communication with townsfolk. So it was very strange when one of there leaders took in a baby she found in a city. But no one questioned her because of her power and so she raised the baby. She named him Erezet or ?Desert Land?. The boy quickly grew into a young boy of the age 14. He had made friends with every one of the camp and he is loved by all. But the priest speaks of a coming doom and that there is one who can save them all. No one believes it until one day they come across a destroyed village. Now the nomads are exploring the village to see what has happened.
Story Setting- The characters are currently in the dessert of Fers. It is a kingdom on the island of Gerques. There are two kingdoms on the island. The Dessert Kingdom of Fers and the rich and powerful city kingdom of Averessie. If one were to use a ship to cross the sea the only way one would head is north as there in no land any other way. You would eventually arrive at the continent of Musafar. The continent has four kingdoms; they are the desert kingdom of Erlror, the forest kingdom of Elvesern, home to the elves. The mountain kingdom of Graystone, the dwarf lands and the city kingdom of Heressen, home land of the humans.
Current Setting- The current setting is the destroyed village. The streets are littered with bodies and debris. The buildings are mostly destroyed or damaged. The fires that were burning have been put out. It stincks of blood and decaying corpses.

I'm new to the Cross Our Swords guild and feel really uninvolved. I hope this is up to the standards of the guild. It's a samurai based RP. The year is 1550 when the Japanese government is disintegrating from the Onin war and when the arts of Zen are still popular after over 200 years. At this time, firearms are introduced but not yet used do to moral beliefs(therefore not used in this thread). Christianity is just influenced and has little effect though this doesn't mean it doesn't exist. In 18 years, this era will cease to exist but before it does, a dark serpent is tightening its grip on the country. Rogue warriors such as samurai, ninjas, warrior monks, and even a variety of unclassified warriors come out of the shadows to stop this oppressive serpent. The major intents of this evil are to strip the minds of the Japanese people to denounce themselves as pawns to leave behind tradition and start throwing their lives away to expand around the world. *Main point of bad guys is to recruit and kill any against not changing. *Anyone can be a bad guy or good guy or change somewhere throughout the RP. Also needed is the main bad guy in charge but they can go unknown if no one takes it. *This is completely mortal, magic isn't allowed. When someone dies, they don't come back so don't kill unless the victim agrees. *If you want to use a firearm, you have to take it up with a mod. Other than that, it's forbidden from this. Talking about it in the RP is alright though. *Magic isn't allowed but any type of illusion trick is, just have a way to explain it. ~Hoping to draw people in! Tell me what you think.~ Profile Name: Age: Appearance: Occupation: (samurai, ninja, warlord, monk, etc.) Weapons: Loyalty: (certain warlords, rogue, etc...also put whether your for or against the change) Short Bio (optional): Unknown Facts: Characters: Name: Takashi Nagakura Age: 26 Appearance: Nagakura is a man of average height, standing at 5'6" with a lithe, but strong build. His clothes were also gray, including the alomst skin-tight tunic beneath the dobok top. On his forearms were wooden bead necklaces, one on each arm. They criss-crossed over themselves. The chain of beads on his left arm were painted black with the japanese symbol for yin on it in white. The necklace on his right consisted of beads painted white with the japanese symbol for yang in black. He is bald, as is an expected thing for the monks from his temple. His eyes are dark brown. Occupation: Zen Warrior Monk Weapons: His fists Loyalty: None as of current. Introduction and Rules Steel and Sorcery takes place in a land of villans that are larger then life and heroes of epic proportions. The land is a dangerous one with villans and bandits above ground and ruthless monsters that dwell below in ruins of an ancient people of powerful magic and terrible, powerful secrets. It is a world mostly submerged, so be ready for magnificent adventure, intrigue and battle on both the high seas and open land! Arcelenon, who is currently this games Master, will be playing all of the NPCs and monsters. That fact, as well as the one that people complain about game masters treating their character to unfair advantages, has lead Arcelenon to decide that he will have no character of his own. While you play the game, you will abide by all guild rules, the rules spelled out by the moderators in Barton Town and the Gaia terms of service. You should know what they are; if you don't, then get the hell out of my RP before I kick you out. Before killing another character, you must have permission from that player and from me. If you die, you may remake your character. You will keep within the boundries of the world I have created as it is explained below. Everything that I have not just forbidden is assumed to be allowed. In a world covered by endless water... People are forced to work out their living on the small patches of land that exist above the water. The fledgeling civilisation that has emerged depends on a single source of energy to power their magic - Mana Crystals, which are found inside of the ancient ruins found on the islands and even the open sea. Those that are brave enough to go into the ruins and find these Mana Crystals are known as Diggers. Originally, the digger's only purpose was to find the Mana Crystals, but legends and rumors began to grow and turn into truth... Monsters have always existed deep inside the ruins, but over the past few years, some have begun to come to the upper levels of the Ruins, and there have even been reports of monsters on the surface. It is the secondary duty of the Diggers to combat and destroy these monsters. What has driven the monsters above ground is not clear, but one thing is; the legend of a prophesy that foretold their coming is true. This leads many to believe that another part of the legend may come to fruition as well. The stories tell of mystical orbs of power that hold sway over the elements themselves. These orbs are rare, and each contains power beyond human imagination. They are, according to the legend, only able to be held by a select few from a bloodline of ancient heroes, and their rising would come at the time when monsters threatened to overrun the world to become its saviors. That time has come in accordance with the legends, and the world awaits the awakening of its heroes. This is your path. What you do with it is your choise... Profiles and Statistics This game has a very simple stat system. Given that, I pray that you read this whole thing before deciding that this RP isn't worth your time because it does, in fact, hold a statistics system. It is a very simple one, and there is no actual math involved in the game. The statistics are only two: Power and Skill. Power represents the powerful aspect of your character. For instance, power in a swordsman will represent physical strength. However, power in a magician will represent the raw magical power he commands. Skill represents the skillful aspect of the character. For a swordsman, this means that he is able to use more powerful sword techniques. A magical character learns more powerful spells as he increases his skill. These are a guideline to help you to determine how your character will stack up with others, as well as certain enemies. Therefore, rather then a number, each statistic has a rating ranging from F to SA. SA- Total efficiency and perfection. S- Masterful, but not perfect yet. A- Outstanding, among the best. B- Very good. C- Respectable. D- Noticable. E- Novice. F- Pathetic. Statistics that 1) I don't want you to know or 2) are so high that they exceed mortal imagination are marked by a rating of X. For instance, a fully grown red dragon will have a power and skill rating of X, indicating that they are too powerful and experienced for any lone mortal to best in combat. Most people will start with a rating of E in both skill and power, but will increase as RP goes on. When you PM me your profile, it should look a little something like this. User: Your Gaian name. Character: Your character's name. Age: Your character's age. I'd prefer it was kept in the late teens or early twenties at the beginning. Race: All LIVING, HUMANOID AND LAND-BASED fantasy races are acceptable. That means Elves, Dwarves, Halflings(Or hobbits, if you prefer), Half-Elves, etc. exist. However, there will please be no vampires, lycans, dragons, etc. Orcs are assumed to be monsters, but Half-Orcs are fine Appearance: Immages and descriptions are acceptable; avatars are not. Biography: We're all literate here; coming up with a background shouldn't be that hard. This field is, therefore, manditory. Please keep in mind that everybody will be assumed to be a digger. Combat Style: What is your favored weapon? Only two as a maximum, please, and magic is included as a weapon.
The World of Elrioth Elrioth is the name that is given to this world. It is believed that a very advanced civilisation once existed on its surface, but a catastrophic event flooded most of the known world with water, leaving only the few islands that exist today above the water. This event also blasted civilisation back into the technology of the Medieval European and Feudal Japanese eras. There are no true countries on the planet. Each island governs itself. The largest three islands in the land are Argion, Odium and Mirta. Argion resembles Medieval England, Odium is similar to ancient Sparta and Mirta is like Feudal Japan. Different islands have cultures that resemble any number of the real world civilisations from the advancement of the Aztec and Inca Native Americans to the barbaric and nomadic Saxons in Pre-Medieveal Germany. It is generally the greatest of fighters from the various islands that go off to become Diggers. The Diggers themselves lay claim to and govern a small island of their own, and it is that island that serves as host to the Digger's base of operations, meeting area and legislative body. It is simply known as the Digger's Island. The Digger's Island has dictated that every digger must hold an official badge of their office to prove their position. They have made three levels of these badges for the three different classes of Diggers(C, B and A.) Class C diggers are allowed only to go into simple ruins. Class B diggers are intermediates, and Class A diggers are the best of the best. Any Digger is allowed to combat the monsters that come to the surface, and island governments will often hire Diggers to do jobs that the local law enforcement cannot handle. All players are assumed to start with a Class C badge. To increase their badges, a Digger must take a test. For instance, a Digger with a class C lisence must take the Class B test in order to advance to Class B. This can be done either on the Digger's Island or on various Digger outposts that can be found on almost any Island. Orbs of Power are mysterious, and nothing is known about them. I will grant the effects of them to whosoever finds them in secret; they will have to figure out the full extent of the powers on their own. Naturally, just about everybody knows about boats and sailing, as the world is covered in water, and every island has some sort of naval force guarding its waters. Despite the strong fighting forces, war between intelligent creatures is practically non-existant. Player Profiles PM profiles to me when you're ready. Class C Digger User: Deidra_Godwin Character: Naida Mochrie Age: 18 Race: Elvian (related to elves they are shorter and have wings) Appearance: Naida has light blonde, almost silver, wavy, shoulder length hair. Her eyes are a clear blue, like the see. Standing straight, Naida is a mere five feet tall. Her wings proturde from her back near her shoulder blades, many have mistaken them for angel wings, from their shape. The feathers are a silver-blue colour, getting slightly darker towards the ends. Biography: Naida was almost born to be a digger, both her parents had, at one point in time, been diggers. Growing up, she had been an only child, and went with her parents almost everywhere. She had been taken to the Diggers Island once, at the age of 8. She had been so fascinated by their work, that since then she has wanted to be one. She peppered her parents with questions about diggers, and as soon as she was old enough, she began practicing with a variety of weapons. Though it was not normal on her Island for girls to be fighters, it was not unheard of, so there really was no fuss raised. She soon found which weapons she liked best, the broadsword and throwing ax. She did not know upon choosing these weapons that they had been her parents weapons of chioce when they were diggers, perhaps she had been born into this as well. Her parents coached her in the use of these weapons until she became quite adept at useing them. At the age of fifteen, she regesterd to be a digger. Shortly after her sixteenth birthday, she received a letter saying she was accepted in the ranks as there were no Diggers from her small Island at the moment, her parents being hte last recorded Diggers. She was to start her training a year from the date on the letter. Now, Naida is eighteen. She arrived on the Island just day's after turning eighteen, after a year of training, she is finnaly allowed to go to the ruins and gather the mana crystals. Combat Style: Sword and a small throwing axe. Both are attached to her belt at all times. Exception: attending formal functions. Power: E Skill: E Digger Class: C Class C Digger User: Trimley Character: Gadney Willoth Age: 22 Race: Human Appearance: Black boots sit on his feet, held tight by three straps on the outerside of each. Baggy pants are held up with a fat leather belt, two straps coming off to either side to hang down and loop back up to reconnect in the back. Hanging from each strap is a sword sheath. The pants are black, with red designs running up the sides. A near skin-tight black tunic was hidden beneath a baggy doublet, also black. On the back was the Digger insignia, and on the front was his own personal insignia, designed by himself. The sleeves are wide and hang down to his knuckles. His hair is white-blonde, a stark contrast to his outfit. His eyes are a dark brown, and carry an ever intense look. Biography: Gadney is a seemingly ordinary man beyond the clothes. That too is false. It is hard to judge him. His attitude and actions make him seem ordinary and simple, yet his clothes seem to show a man that is decisive and more than he seems to show. Gadney was born to an ordinary family, blacksmith father, and a stay-at-home mother, watching four children; Three boys and one girl. Luckily, the girl was the oldest and had dealt with the others easily enough. His parents were still alive, in fact, which was amazing with how little medicines they had. His parents are both 47 now, and as healthy as can be. He became a Digger after his fourth attempt, and has been working at becoming a Class A ever since. It's the childhood dream that never died. Unfortunately, he isn't much of a skilled fighter, and has had to run away from fights on more than one occasion. Combat Style: He is a defensive and couter-active fighter, using his two short swords to block anything that comes his way, then retaliate with a swift blow of his own. However, he cannot deal with making the first attack. He fumbles and and is quite sloppy. Power: E Skill: E Digger Class: C

Plot:Once, a powerful wizard that went by the name, Lasuto, ruled over most of the world. Those foolish enough to try and rebel were put to death. There was, however, a small island that was filled with powerful warriors, who were able to evade death by Lasuto's hand for almost four years. When Lasuto finally did manage to overwhelm most of those residing on the island, the rest of the warriors surrendered to him, in fear of their lives. Lasuto had finally conquered the world, he rejoiced, and his word was law. After roughly around twenty years of being ruled with an iron fist, sorcerers throughout the world, decided it was time to try and stop him. In secret, the sorcerers gathered around Lasuto one night, as he slept. They opened a portal around him, and he was sucked into it, waking up just in time to see who cast him into his prison. He was banished to a parallel dimension, a dark dimension, almost void of life, and filled with the undead. After nearly thirty years of peace, Lasuto somehow managed to open a portal on a remote island, the Isle of Lasuto. Lasuto brought forth legions of undead, and demons, through a newly formed dimensional gate, which he kept open using his powers. The gate was nicknamed the Gate of Oblivion, for that was what it brought forth into this world. Lasuto tracked down and murdered everyone who knew how to use magic, and destroyed the village they lived in. With his demons, and powers of his own, he was close to conquering the world once again. One of the sorcerers whom trapped him in the parallel dimension, managed to escape death, and once again, with legions of warriors on his side, prepared to slaughter the demons and undead, approached Lasuto, and in fact did slay his army. Sacrificing his own life, to try and trap Lasuto for good, the sorcerer sent Lasuto back into the dimension in which he was previously sent, and closed the Gate of Oblivion. It was said that Lasuto would gather more demons, more then he previously had, reopen the Gate of Oblivion, and rule this world once more. It was shaken off as nothing more than paranoia. It has been well over one hundred years since Lasuto was banished from this world, and none think that Lasuto will ever return, but they stayed on guard. The Gate of Oblivion has been opened once more, and slowly, demons and undead begin to come through, building settlements and cities on the Isle of Lasuto. It is known what is happening, and many warriors have decided to go to the island, to stomp out any and all life on it. All who have tried so far have not returned, and every day more demons come through. They have begun to land in coastal cities, close to the island, but have so far been killed with every attempt they make. It is feared that after enough demons come through, that Lasuto himself shall emerge from the Gate of Oblivion, and kill them all. Many warriors have taken it upon themselves to kill all demons on the Isle of Lasuto, breach the Gate of Oblivion, and destroy Lasuto once and for all, on their own. They will need your help, will you help kill Lasuto and close the gate of Oblivion? Characters: Gaian Name: Zedrein Character Name: Adhir Age: 21 Race: Human Weapon(s): Two long swords, made out of diamond. Appearance: Standing at only 5'9", he has brown hair, that can be described simply as a mop top, along with a beard. His eyes are hazel, his body lean, with a bit of muscle. He has no sheaths, but carries his swords in his hands whenever he needs to travel. A scar runs diagonal, from his right eye, down to his left cheek. History: Born into a rather wealthy family, Adhir was trained to be a warrior by his parents, for they feared that Lasuto would indeed reopen the Gate of Oblivion, and try to conquer the world. He married at the age of 18, but his wife died in child birth, the child dying as well, when Adhir was only 19. He suddenly spent all of his time only practicing with his swords, becoming better then any other in his town. When word came that the Gate of Oblivion had been reopened, he smiled at the chance to murder the demons, and put his training to the test. He arrived on the Isle of Lasuto a few days ago, but has not yet run into any demons. ~~~ Gaia Username:Collun Name: Leithir Kyuristhen (Leith) (it means 'One Sky, One Destiny) Age: 20 Gender: Male Appearance: He's about six foot three. He has a blue tattoo on his lower arm in the shape of a blade. This marks him as a high-ranking officer. Weapon: Tereth and Kyuno. They are twin-blades, approximately four feet in length. He keeps them in crossed sheaths across his back. The blades themselves are pure steel, and are sharper than a midwinter gale. (the army of his home country) His brother was taken from the family at three, and no one knows what became of him. He was brought up to be the new general, and by the age of sixteen -making him the youngest ever- he had progressed to become a sixth stage captain. His boots are made of thick leather and look a little roughed up. His pants, which are black and baggy, come down over his boots. Over his torso, he wears a short-sleeved tunic and a cape held about his neck by a brooch in the shape of a sword crossing over a shield vertically, point down. The tunic and cape are also black. His eyes are gray with no pupils, the sign of the Vargent. His hair is dark brown and hangs loosely down over his eyes. History: His mother was Vargent and his father a strong human wizard. During the second-coming of Lasuto, they were both heavily injured and only made it back home near death. The reason they had lived so long was because of their magic. They both appeared to be about forty, but were much older by comparison. They passed away together at the ages of 148 and 142 respectively, his mother being older. Upon such occasion, Trimley was placed in the care of their closest friend and raised to be strong with the abilities of a Vargent. With his parents' death as his drive, he quickly became the strongest of his kind, his father's wizarding powers greatly assisting his Vargent Power. That was at the age of 16. At age 17, his guardian passed away and recently, Trimley's mind has been meddled with and his thoughts twisted. He has come to believe that Lasuto is the one that can help him achieve greater heights of power and save the people. He has since come to the island and is serving alongside the demons. He commands a small troop and they respect him deeply, despite his age and lack of experience. They trust and serve him loyally and any one of them would gladly die for him. ~~~ Gaian Name: Takasunii Character Name: Illiyana Volkov Age: 19 Race: Half-Demon (Doppleganger-like) Weapon(s): Voice (singing can hypnotize but she rarely does it) & a hidden dagger she keeps with her at all times Appearance: ~I'm not good at descriptions...but if you don't want pictures up, I can change it~ History: Illiyana was born in a wealthy family but an epidemic killed her parents. Upon finding this out, her future husband left her at the alter. She then went off on her own. Despite the destruction the opening of the Gate of Oblivian will have, she's glad it happened and she's willing to die just as soon as everyone else in the world does. ~~~ Profile:Gaian Name: Character Name: Age: Race: Weapon(s): Appearance: History:

Freid Te-Resys, An ancient historian, writes in Myths of Ancient Times: "In myth, there is a thin barrier, beyond human calculations, between the land of the dead and the land of the living. So thin is this barrier that if an inhabitant of the land of the dead with commendable power were to attempt to break it, it would collapse easily and the dead would return once again."
Here, myth becomes truth.
Here, confusion breaks out.
Is this the end? Is it our end?
Here, the spiritual world challenges you at the peak of your performance.
Here, natural selection controls the human race once again.
Can You Survive?
Rules:
Introductions are encouraged, but not needed. The less description used, the more that the story leaves to the imagination, which conforms around the contentment of each individual.
Each individual must begin at a state of spiritual discontentment, to be challenged and aggrandized throughout the story. At some point, the character will reach the peak of their spiritual journey, or enlightenment. This is to be interpreted in anyway possible, leaving the imagination clause into play.
The Story begins in an Inn, where the last "independents"(those deciding to travel in search of the explanation or destruction of these hideous 'zombies') are to be gathered. State your name, skills, preferred quality of living(food, shelter, sleeping arrangements, etc.)
I'm new at this, so if i'm doing something wrong, not doing something, or more rules should be added, tell me and I'll comply ASAP.

Prologue In the beggining there was.... nothing. The only thing that filled the empty void was the deepest black abbys. For what seemed like an eternity; time stood still, and nothing moved. Then as the darkness rippled, a bright light exploded in the abbys. Sherra was born; the Goddess of all Life; all Creation. With a sigh, she created the place known as home to all. And with her tears, her words, and her laughter, life was created. With time, other Gods came forth. One was recongized as a powerful being; Sherra called him Tor, God of the Sun and Skies. With time, Sherra gave birth to Tor's child, who became known as Chaos. Chaos was the living embodiement of all the Elements. At first, Chaos was a kind and selfless being, much like its mother. But power corrupted the being, and soon, Chaos's very existence threatened the world. Tor came from the heaven's, fury in his very eyes. Tor wouldn't let any being on in the universe destroy the world his beloved held so dear. With his sword created from the very abbys time had begun in, he battled Chaos. Many called it the Great Battle. Their feuding tore apart the lands, and seperated the people. Great volcanoes erupted in the two Gods fury; the land shook in fear; the oceans danced in a frenzied attempt to end it; and lighting rained down from the sky. But in the end, Tor was the victor, and Chaos's spirit soon became a magic used by many. Chaos's spirit is now with in mages who call themeselves Elementalists. They have honed the power of the six elements, and can even combine those powers to utilize different things. Air; The very source of that provides life for all. Heat; The power that is as tempermental as Tor himself. Cold; The one thing that can stop heat from destroying. Energy; This element allows lighting to dance in the night sky. Water; Like air, none can live with out it, yet it can take away life with such ease. Earth; A nurturing element with a temper.
At least... that is what Grandmother says. Grandmother speaks about many things such as this. But this time... I think I believe her. After all, I am on of these many people she speaks of. She has taught me how to use my surroundings to my own advantage, and I have learned well from the old story teller. Over the years of my short life, I've learned to combine the powers of the Elements to protect. But there are many who wish to do the very opposite of what I live for. Many wish bring Chaos forth once more. For what reasons, I know not, and I shudder to imagine what would happen if they succeeded. But enough about me. After all this isn't my story. This is ours. How it ends is up to you. By: Wind_Sister Topic Admids:

Welcome to//- Meridian -// The Time between Times ; the Place between Places Welcome! So you've managed to find our Meridian, have you? Come on in! What? You've never heard of the infamous Meridian? Inter-realm meeting place for Immortals, kobolds, daemons, Sidhe, cornipcons, faeries, Halflings, spirits, Travellers, Witches, Mages, un-dead and all inbetween? Then enter, and be warned; On this Time between Times, in this Place between places, good and evil do not exist. So be you Light folk, Dark, or betwixt and between, we as an inn, haven and pub have what you're looking for.
My character, Finnovaer Tamoar. <3
Content I. The Scoop II. The Layout III. Owners & Employees IV. Guidelines V. Updates/Extra
(( Please note, this is a fantasy roleplay, and while many dimensions meet up at the Meridian, the Earth time is often a matter of controversy. If you want, it can be modern, while if you prefer medieval, 1800's, whatever, that works, too. Just keep away from the future, please. ))
The Scoop
As mentioned before, Meridian is an inter-realm meeting place for creatures, magickal and elemental, light and dark, where people come to catch up on the latest gossip, ('Dreadful, just dreadful... And an extermination spell, of all things!') tell jokes, (Did you hear the one about the Hag, the cobalt and the prince?) or simply enojy the exellent food and drink (Pigs blood, warmed with a sprinkle of cloves, please.) Often, more important matters are also conducted here in the Conferance Room, but that will be explained in more detail later. This is a 'literate' Roleplay, not literacy as in the ability to read and write (hardy har har -_-'') but as in advanced Roleplaying. This too will be touched in one of my later posts. The Layout
Meridian, while looking quaint and somewhat battered on the outside, (And totally invisible to mortals) is actually very large inside. Consisting of 2 floors, two towers and a basement, the layout is as follows;
Basement- Not much is known about what goes on down here. The entire basement is built out of smooth, polished stone. The larger part belongs to Mrs. Palina LeBlanc, but there is also a incredibly large, walk in pantry closed off from the rest containing everything from baking supplies to frog livers. Yummy.
Main Floor- The main floor could probably be best described as 'a typical Irish pub'. The floors are wooden, the round wood tables matching the polished bar. The atmosphere is generally smoky, warm and a tad bit noisy due to the variety of languages spoken. Past the bar there is the large kitchen, and to one side the stairs leading up to the rooms and a large fireplace.
2nd Floor- 12 rooms of different styles and sizes to accomadate different needs and different budgets. The typical room has a double bed, dresser, chair and writing desk with a gas lamp. Plain, clean and simple.
Towers- One of the towers in the circular conferance room, within it is a large, round oak table with chairs around it, a large fireplace, and paned windows along the tall walls. The other is the home of the owners, Mr. and Mrs. LeBlanc.
The Grounds- The grounds consist of a few acres of land, a well-kept stable, a koi-pond sheltered by a willow tree, a large, beautiful decorative garden, and Palina's provtae herb garden that Amy helps her tend. Owners & EmployeesOwnersJean LeBlanc- owns the Meridian, after inheriting it from a close friend. With his sandy blonde hair tied back into a ponytail, large blue eyes, french accent and winning smile, this 25 year old loup-garou dazzles female customers and plays the part of Host. He is opinionated, terribly stubborn, a bit of a tease, not quite grown up, and deeply in love with his wife.
Palina LeBlanc- Co-owns the Meridian with her husband, Jean. Gracious, kind, a talented earth Mage, and intelligent, she helps her husband with the 'buisness aspect' and is admired by many. With her long, dark plait falling down her back, long lashes framing honey colored eyes and her jewel-colored saris, she seems to float around the kitchen, helping the workers when able.

This is the world of Jaxids where chaos and untamed magic rule over all. 1000 years past a rift was open to another world that brought strange and powerful magic and mythical beings. These beings brought chaos to the world of Jaxids and turned it to waste. The creatures of Jaxids repeled the beings and closed the rift with the magic obtained from the creatures that came to Jaxids. 100 years later the world itself came into conflict with itself. Friends turned on friends and family against family, this led to great disorder. A great and powerful magic of unkown origins spread across the land reducing the powers of people.
900 years has passed since then and magic is now a simple task. Although magic was simple, powerful magic is chaotic and unpredictable. New orders have appeared around the world ready to take command. Many orders have taken land under the force of magic or brute force and have turned the land to waste as it once was. Untamed magic is uncontrolable but is very powerful, the simple spells like shooting fire or water can be controlled easily. Untamed magic is like summoning, transforming, or an omega spell. Who will you be? Will you be under the order of an order or lead one yourself? Will you bring chaos to the land or peace to the people? Will you be a rouge or a mercanary? It's your choice, choose wisely...
Choose where ever and how ever you want to start and you can not be the leader of the "rebirth" order but you can start your own order. Your posts must be long unless your interacting with another player.
PM your profiles to me, don't post them. Gaia Name: RP Name: Age: Race: (You may choose any race you can think of) Appearance sad Pictures accepted) History: (Must be at least 5 sentences) Personality: Abilities: Inventory: Weaknesses sad must have weakness no matter who you are) Elemental Strength: (Optional only if you don't control a certian element) Spells: (for magic user only and have only one untamed spell that you can use) Order and Rank: (can create new orders, if there is less than max allowed, or join old ones)(check my 3rd post for details of max Orders and other orders) Other things: (any thing I didn't think of put here)

- The Rules - The Premise, Super Nutshell Version Fifteen year old Arinne has been having strange dreams as long as she can remember. Each night she dreams either of a glorious unified kingdom, ruled by peace and justice, or of a blighted land where corruption and disease run rampant and no ones life is safe. Each morning she recounts her dreams to her guardian, an Elven battlemage named Mai, who encourages her to keep a journal of each dream and try to piece them together into a story. Little does Arinne know that she is the lever that will tilt the balance of power in the world of Essamere, and that the stories she weaves out of the threads of dreams will be the future she will create. This teenaged girl is the possessor of a marvelous power that in the wrong hands could prove dangerous, and that is the power of Control. If she told a person to sell all of their earthly possessions and wander the earth in search of the meaning of life, that person would because it simply sounds right and reasonable to them. In a similar vein, if she told them to leap to their death off of a high cliff, they would because in their mind there is no other option. The only person who is impervious to this power is Mai. Who knows that Arinne has this power? Everyone except for her, and this puts Arinne in grave danger as she nears her sixteenth birthday when her abilities will appear in full strength. She is pursued by an elite cartel of assassins and thieves known as Fates Hand, the Temple of Amanna, and the five Noble Houses of Essamere, each who desires the power of Control for their own use. Doubtless there are others who also want this power for themselves, and it is bound to keep the lives of Arinne and the mysterious Mai very interesting for a long time. After all, whoever controls the Controller will also control the fate of Essamere will one of these powerful players be the victor, or will the object of their search be destroyed in their fervor to possess her? Also....Events worth noting in the history of EssamereFounding of the Council of Five: two hundred years ago. Fall of Andalin (the Elven realm): sixteen years ago. Because of this, it is estimated that only a few hundred elves remain of the close to 500,000 that once populated Andalin, and these survivors are difficult to find as they live in fear of death at the hands of the troops who decimated their homeland. Factions Three major factions govern the world of Essamere: Fates Hand, the Temple of Amanna, and the Council of Five. Fates Hand An elite guild of assassins and thieves, headed by legendary mercenary Elin Mandos, and they desire to capture Arinne for their own and use her powers to bring the world under their control. If Arinne will not cooperate, then the Hand will simply dispose of her as it sees fit. The Temple of Amanna The goddess Amanna is the primary focus of worship for the citizenry of Essamere, and the Temple is seen as her hand on the physical plane. Every layer of life has been permeated by the Temple, be it through providing free arbitration and mediation services for the lower classes or by favoring its richer patrons with influential places in society and government. Leading the Temple is the High Priestess Liana, and it is her aim to further the Temples goals with Arinne as a figurehead. The Temples mission is Compassion, Edification, Unification, expressing in three simple words the Temples tasking of showing mercy to all who deserve it, educating the people in the truths of Amanna, and bringing the world together in single worship of the goddess by any means and at any cost. It also possesses its own army, numbering somewhere close to a hundred thousand highly trained and completely loyal soldiers who have been trained in various forms of combat and defensive magic. Council of Five A loose alliance of Essameres five major noble houses, which was formed two hundred years ago when the leaders tired of fighting. While its motive may have been pure at its forming, the individual prejudices and priorities of the five houses have resurfaced over the years, and what once had been a harmonious union has now turned into a subtle dance of vendettas and power plays. The Council meets once every sixty days (or more frequently if necessary) and the meeting places rotate between the capital cities of each Houses territory. Each house wants Arinne and her abilities for their own mysterious purposes. - House Mandos - (pronounced MAN-dose) Capitol: Tellan, located in the northern part of the House territory. Allied (albeit not overtly) with Fates Hand, as Elin is the second son of Mandos elderly leader. Mandos occupies the western seacoast of Essamere. -House Ysmare -(pronounced IS-mahr-ee) Capitol: Garai, on the largest island of the Ysmare chain. Renowned for its skilled mages, Ysmare holds as its own the massive island chain that lies off the western coast of Essamere. - House Ulthior - (pronounced ul-thee-or) Capitol: Dariel, on the shores of a lake with the same name, located in the south of the territory. Talented in diplomacy and political maneuvering. This House has the most centrally located territory, noted for plentiful lakes and rivers. - House Janaan -(pronounced ja-NAHN) Capital: The stronghold of Mhergat, not far from the now-nonexistent border with ruined Andalin. The most warlike house of the five, Janaan occupies the arctic wasteland north of Ulthior and east of Mandos. - House Senayd - (pronounced sin-aid) Capitol: The forest town of Bedelek. Home to skilled craftsmen; rich in natural and material resources. Senayd occupies the mountains, forests, and coastline east of Ulthior and uses them to provide the materials for their products. Note: It is worth knowing that the realm of Andalin once occupied the northwestern part of Essamere and upon its defeat was split up evenly between Mandos and Janaan. Its capitol was called Ilerial. The Word on the Streets: Another Faction? There is also rumor of an organization being formed to topple Fates Hand and kill its leader, formed of the survivors of Andalin (as well as any others who desire vengeance against Elin Mandos and his organization) and led by a heavily scarred elf male who goes by the name of Kal Fearstriker. ((Made it this far? Congratulations! Still interested? Even better. Now we get to the good stuff...)) Premade Characters *assigned on a first come, first serve basis* *only after these characters are filled will made-ups be accepted, sorry* Arinne (temporarily played by myself as well, until we get someone else): Fifteen year old girl, possessor of the power of Control. Lives with Mai in the city of Dariel (capitol of Ulthior), and at the outset does not know that her life is in danger. It is only when she and Mai narrowly escape encounters with agents of the Hand, the Temple, and the Houses that she notices something is really wrong. FYI: When Arinne does achieve her full level of power, she can only Control NPC's... this cuts down on potential godmoding. ((Thanks to MythicalYoko for this suggestion!)) Mai Firewalker ((played by me; sorry folks, but I love playing screwed-up elves... I also want her done a certain way sweatdrop ))High Priestess Liana (Benten_Water): An icy beauty anywhere from her twenties to her thirties in age (at player discretion). She is a firm believer in the power of the Temple to shape the world, but her worship of Amanna is only a front to cover her own personal schemes. Elin Mandos: Even though Elin is only in his late twenties, his reputation as a skilled mercenary is well-known throughout Essamere. In his teens, he assumed control of Fates Hand and forged the alliance with Houses Mandos and Janaan to topple the Elven realm of Andalin. At first he only viewed Mai as a war trophy and not worthy of true consideration, but after she nearly killed him and then escaped, he has put out a warrant for her retrieval so that he can punish her accordingly for being disobedient. (( eek Just realized how dirty that could sound, but this aspect of Elin is up to player discretion as well.)) Though not remarkably attractive in appearance, the leader of Fates Hand carries himself with the cruel elegance of a top-tier predator. Kal Fearstriker (Bigfoot TI): One of the few survivors of the fall of Andalin, Kal is heavily scarred by the wounds he suffered during the battles. He is an excellent tactician and has organized a movement to destroy Fates Hand once and for all. ((bio on page 7))Rosette Christopher; Chrono (Benten_Water): Agents of Fates Hand, assigned to find Arinne and kidnap her, or kill her if she refuses to cooperate. (( Bios further down this page.)) Khnui Hksan (Khnui): Templier of Amanna, also assigned to find Arinne and detain her to be turned over to the Temple. ((bio on page 8 ))also needed: Members of the Council of Five, one per house. These can be male or female as the player chooses, but please keep in mind the descriptions of the members House when developing them. Other Characters (by agreement only; please PM me if you have one that you really, really want to use) Homik Lunn (Trimley): Naturalist, general in Kal Fearstriker's organization ((bio on page 2))((And now.... the end of the admin stuff! *wipes sweat off of forehead* I'll bet you're just as glad as I am to get to this part.... and if you're still conscious after my rambling, I salute your stamina! xd )) No RP would be complete without...
The Rules Pretty simple, and you should probably have some of these memorized by now. =P - Follow the Gaia TOS. - Keep this within guild RP guidelines (duh) - If you do swear, I dont mind, but please do it in character. (And not too often.) - Any kind of romance is all right with me, if you can work it into the storyline, just as always keep it PG-13 or less. If you must take it beyond that, pleeeease dont make us watch. - Also: have fun and be active! I made this scenario up for you all, and it wont be fun if you dont participate. - I have no problem with guys playing female characters or vice versa. - Lastly, if you have any questions, please dont hesitate to ask and Ill do my best to clarify. Im also open to suggestions if you have an idea that you think might make this better! Now that we're all set, this RP is open for your entertainment. Enjoy! ~ Jan

Introduction: First off, the world your character is currently on what is called a Plane-- one out of the sixteen. Planes have their own star systems, planets, races, history, and civilizations. The next major point is the Web: the single most important symbol you will ever encounter in the game. It is much like a spider's web, but it is slightly different in structure. The sixteen support threads represent one of the Planes, and four perfect circles unite them altogether-- representing the four ages. Three of which have already passed. As a Traveler, you will be able to cross between worlds and time by going to the Glass Tower, the very center of every Plane and the holding place for the Web. Within each tower is one divine entity. They differ from plane to plane. Again, one entity for each Plane, who watch the world and maintain the balance within-- known as Weavers since they use the Web as a reference. Balance between good and evil means everything in this RP. As soon as one Plane begins to fall under, the Thread begins to break-- causing enough chaos to put that world in serious danger. Weavers may be strong, but they are unable to interact with the citizens themselves... so begins your part in the story. You have the ability to go from Plane to Plane, under the needs of the Weaver, and either correct trouble or create it-- whichever is needed to keep the balance. You will undoubtedly meet other Travelers on your quests, so expect to see them. However, knowledge of the Web and the Weavers is extremely rare, and not to be said too loudly in public-- Travelers must keep their identity hidden to those around them. Dictionary of Terms Balance: Acquired by leveling out forces between chaos and order-- which is an ongoing process. The only time intervention would be unnecessary is when there are no power-hungry beings, or those bent on destroying things-- but that basically suggests that everyone would have to be perfect... Chronicles of Ages: The Book of Time. Everything that occurs in a Plane, and everyone living within it, has a written account made by the Weavers. The Weavers never let this book out of their sight, and even if you could somehow get ahold of it, their language is far too complex for any mortal to understand. Planes: These are individual worlds with their own deities, monsters, classes, races, spells, and so forth. Anything you can think of can probably be found somewhere within one of the Planes if you simply inquire the Weaver about it. There are almost always imbalances in the Plane, so your job as a protector may never be finished. But according to Weavers, the Web will be perfect at the coming of the Fourth Age... Rifts: These are actual tears that form in the Web when the Thread begins to break. If you can imagine an actual spider web, you can hopefully see how strain on a single area causes that thread fall apart. Usually, you can avoid rifts before they happen by preventing a certain situation from happening-- but when rifts do occur, they create an opening to chaos, demons, and supernatural happens depending on its size.... needless to say, rifts are a lot harder to fix, and can easily destroy an entire Plane. The Glass Tower: You'll find this tower in the exact center of every Plane(it's appearance may differ for each though). It's the dwelling place of the Weaver, the Chronicles of Ages, the representation of the Web, and a transport to any other Plane in existance. In order to keep others out, the tower will not be open until a certain time of day or under certain conditions... but it is said that time will work out in a person's favor if the Weaver is expecting to see them... Travelers: Anyone who is working for the Weaver. Your job is to maintain balance between Planes and keep things constant. Often the Weaver is going to give you quests that may range from something basic to something dangerous, helping either good or evil to fill the Plane. A Weaver will usually pick certain people for certain quests, as they may require different methods of correction. Through for every successful quest, you will be rewarded for your effort-- but lack of action might be seen as an imbalance to the Web. (and you know what we do with those << ) Weavers: Since the beginning of time, Weavers have watched mankind develop into what it is now and throughout all these changes, they have managed to keep the world intact. At first, they were seen as bland, emotionless, and souless beings interested only in doing what needed to be done... However; over time, they have developed distinct personalities and even reflect the very Plane they protect-- Weavers will be patient with newcomers fortunately, as even the most elite Travelers have slipped up. The Web: The symbol of every living thing that is part of the Plane of Existance. Sixteen Threads symbolize the planes, and four circles unite them all together. You'll find the Web itself at the uppermost level of the Glass Tower, and it may be used to transport you to a different place and time. Riven Races: I have layed out many of the possible races you may choose from. If you have any suggestions for any races, please PM me and I'll either approve or disapprove, and I'll give my reasoning for either decision. You may be a hybrid of races, but please keep it to a limit. No one needs to know that you're 1/128 dwarf. --General Races--Human: This is the most versitile race. If you don't know what a human is, look in the mirror. Elf: Commonly thought of as the most beautiful of all humanoids. They are usually lithe and quick, but are also fragile. Elves often excel in magic and are usually tought minor magics in their childhood. Elves have keen hearing, and can usually sense the presence of traps or hidden doors. They live extremely long lives and as a result do not see any reason in rushing a situation. Dwarf: Usually short and stocky in stature. Their usual dwellings consist of mining caves and cities of stone. Dwarves are powerhouses and usually resort to might over mind. They have unusually good vision in dark enviorments, and are not easily overcome by substances foreign to their bodies (ale). Dwarves can live to be 500 years old on average. Halfling: Very mischievious creatures. Halflings are well-known for their ability to get into trouble. However, they are very proficient with the art of getting out of trouble also. Their short stature doesn't keep them from a few ales either. Halflings are usually very good at thinking on their feet.Halflings live only a little longer than humans. Gnome: Gnomes are extremely well know for their engineering skills. They are very knowledgable in the study of contraptions, and are usually quite good at marketing their products also. Gnomes are also another short race. Gnomes live about as long as a human. Rakshasa: A people of bipedial cats. They are very agile and usually very strong. Their opposable thumbs are not as stable as a humans and they may thereby have trouble with handheld weaponry and devices. They are not very well accepted in society, as their ancestors were demons of the Mournland. Rakshasa are usually more evil-aligned than Shifters. Atavians: Winged creatures that have no other advantages over other races other than that of flight. They are usually archers, using their wings to distance themselves from their enemies. They make civilizations in mountain tops and do not usually mingle with the other races unless the circumstances call for it. --Morph Races--Shifter: A controlled lycanthrope race. Shifters are half-lycanthropes that can control when they morph and the degree of their morphing. A shifter always shows a significant resemblence to the animal of their morph. From birth, they can only morph into one animal. Shifters are exceedingly stronger than humans in their morphs, but about the same strength as one without. Shifters are shunned from civilized gatherings. Changling: A disguised humanoid. A changling looks like a deformed human when it hasn't morphed, but it has the ability to change its physical features to look like any other humanoid it touches. Unfortunately, changlings usually use their abilities for commiting crimes and are also shunned from society. ((As the RP progresses, many new races will be found and will be added.)) --Riven Classes--Barbarian: A warrior that depends on his rage to pull him through battle. They hold inhuman strength, but usually are illiterate and a little below average in intelligence. They prefer battle axes and warhammers over rapiers and longswords. "Big Hammer smash orc!" Bard: A lyrical magi. A bard can make a simple instrument into a deadly weapon. Bards are gifted magi that have learned to summon their magic through music. Some bards prefer to sing instead of playing a cumbersome instrument. Priest: A combat-oriented healer. Priests are devoted followers of Pelor, God of the Sun. They draw only Good magic, allowing them to heal, smite, and many other priestly magics. Druid: Nature magi. Druids have the ability to call nature to help them. Plants and animals are their friends and power source. Druid can metamorph into any animal for short periods of time, usually only lasting 5 minutes when the druid is untrained. Fighter: A skilled soldier. Fighters use more finesse in their combat than Barbarians do. They are proficient with every weapon and armor, as they have been trained in them all. "Stick the pointy thing in the squishy thing that screams and bleeds. 'nuff said. Magi: A gifted individual. Magi have the ability to summon magic without spellbook or scroll. They need not prepare magic ahead of time because magic runs through their veins. Sometimes chaotic in nature, magi usually quest for power or knowledge. Monk: A devoted martial artist. Monks follow the principle of "Mind over Body". They draw from an energy source they refer to as Ki. This energy will empower their abilities and eventually be able to save them from deadly toxins, reduce the effects of aging, and allow them to tap into the life sources of others. Paladin: A devoted warrior of Pelor. Like clerics, paladins follow Pelor, God of the Sun. However, paladins draw closer to combat than to magic. Whereas, a cleric is stronger in magic than in combat. Psion: A telepathic class. Psions are not very well-off in combat besides their poweress in psychic powers. They can use their mind to summon greater power than that available in any kind of magic. However, they have to devote their whole mind and thought to reach such potential. Ranger: A nature-walker. Rangers are usually veterans from previous wars. They draw from nature to use magic, but are better at combat. A ranger prefers the use of traps and intelligent combat over the wreckless and courageous ways of a fighter or barbarian. Rogue: A greatly varying class. Rogues can range from petty theives to deadly assassins. Their skills consist of lock-picking, sleight of hand, and moving about unseen. The sneakiest of the classes. Wizard: A magic scholar. Wizards cast magic from spellbook and scrolls, but their magic knowledge is superior to that of any other class. If a wizard finds a magic, chances are he/she can cast it. --Magic and Psionics--There are two major differences between Magic and Psionics: 1. Where the power is summoned from. 2. The abilities of that power. There are two different forms of Magic that hold different characteristics. They are arcane magic and divine magic. -Magic-Arcane magic: Magic drawn from a mystic energy source that seems to show itself in strange ways. This energy can be tapped into two ways. It can be drawn from as a natural talent given to a person at birth (magi), it can be learned through laborous hours of study (wizard), or both (bards). Arcane spells are more likely to cast exuberant results than divine magic. Divine magic: Magic drawn from a divine source. Clerics and paladins gain this power from a diety or divine source. Druids and rangers draw this from the earth. Divine magic tends to cast more protective, healing and blessing abilities and are not as flashy or destructive as arcane spells. -Psionics-Psionics is the tapping into one's brain's potential. Learned magic is calling upon other powers by use of intellect. Psionics is using that intellect to directly influence the world and yourself. There are five forms of psionics, and a psion can only choose one form to study. ((eg. A shaper cannot cast psychokenetic powers)) Metacreativity: Those who use this type of power are often referred to as shapers. They have the ability to transform the energy of the psion's mind into a solid material, known as ectoplasm. This ectoplasm can be constructed to anything the manifester wishes, within their talents. A shaper with the right level of experience can create anything from armor to golems with the ectoplasm. Psychokenesis: Those psions that use this type of power are known as keneticists. Keneticists are masters of powers that manipulate and transform matter and energy. They produce devastating attacks of raw kenetic energy. Psychometabolism: Those who master in this type of psionics are called Egoists. Egoists can alter the psychobiology of themself or those around him/her. They can heal and transform themselves into great fighters. Psychoportation: Those that manipulate psychoportation are known as nomads. Nomads can wield powers that displace or propel objects in space and/or time. Psychoportation is usually used for short-term teleportation and restricting the movement of others. (RESTRICTED: With my permission only.)--Stat System--The stat system was too confusing for some, so I'm redoing it to be less strict. There will be no math other than leveling up. You will still assign ability scores, but they will not directly rule over gameplay. See Stat Math for further details.Stat basics[ATTENTION ALL PLAYERS! THIS HAS TO BE UNDERSTOOD BEFORE GAMEPLAY!] You will begin as level 10. You're trained individuals and are one rank under that of a hero. Congrats. There are 5 stats; Atk, Mag atk, Spd, Def, and Mag Def. When you begin, you have 100 points to distribute to these stats. Atk: Determines how much damage you can do. Mag Atk: Determines how much damage you can do with magic. Spd: Determines who gets first attack. Def: Determines your ability to resist damage. Mag Def: Determines your ability to resist damage against magic. TADA! Isn't that easy? Weapons, armor, and other items can alter these stats as well. Stat math[Edit] You will judge how much damage you do, how much damage you take, and how much magic points your spell takes up. This has been put in place for those that found the system too confusing. Instead of adding up all the math through a battle, you'll just post your stats, the stats of your opponent, and then battle as if it were a storyline battle. If this gets out of hand, I'll have to put the stat system back in place. Experience gain: Take the level of your opponent, multiply by 5, and that's the ammount of experience you gain. Experience required: Take your level and slap a zero on the end. That's how much you need to level up. Stat gain: Each level you gain 10 stat points. Also, when you face an opponent and win, for every 10 levels they had, you gain a stat point. --Stat Battles vs. Storyline Battles-- Stat battles are just to show that you've earned the power that you have. Storyline battles are where you can RP with that power and not worry about the stats. However, you do not gain experience or stat points from storyline battles. --Spirit Warriors-- Each of you will have an heirloom. You can add any history you want to it. This is a very important item in your quest. It holds your spirit warrior. You are currently unable to unlock the spirit warrior, and your character is unaware of the warrior's existance. The Weaver will speak with you once you have reached level 20. If you feel ready, you can take upon yourself the task of finding your spirit warrior. If you do not feel ready, you can return to the Weaver any time you like to take on the task. The trial is as follows: The Weaver will send you into the depths of the Forging (to be explained in gameplay) and you will fight three beasts (All storyline battles). After you have defeated those beasts, you will fight your spirit warrior. If you succeed, it will submit to your will. If you fail, it only becomes harder to obtain the next time. --update-- Spirit warriors are different from all other forms of familiars, aeons, guardian forces, and summons. They are deceased beings that once you find them, have a direct link to your soul. They are a wildcard. When you are in tragic trouble, you may call a spirit warrior to help. They have no levels or stats, but instead act as an uber-'limit break' for your character and will grant you powers beyond that of your stats or abilities. They will fuse with your spirit to change your physical and mental self. However, spirit warriors have been known to backfire, causing major damage to anyone around, including yourself. When you fuse with a spirit warrior, you have access to their power, and drawing too much from their power may result in loss of control to the spirit warrior. Spirit warriors have been locked away in the Forging (Weaver will explain) and chaos reigns their mind. You will need to take small measures to train your spirit warrior back to their original state. Until they're completely recovered, there's no telling what they'll do. ((I'm letting you set up the layout of the continent. Feel free to let your creativity abound)) The web that has been weaved thus far... War has overtaken Riven. What was once a peaceful continent has now been turned upside-down. Disputes over boundaries and wealth now plague the nations. You were once heroes among the nations. Now there are none that look up to you, as they have been devoured by their own egos and exploits. By some chance, you have all become stranded upon an island some distance away from the shore of the continent. The remote island that you have fallen upon has all necessary materials to sustain life, and enough wildlife to train a hero back to his previous glory. ((Here is all that stands of the continent. From here, you create as you go.)) [Attention: Do not join unless you intend on staying] Character SignupsThis is your character sheet. Everyone can post their characters as soon as I open it for sign-ups. You'll keep this updated as you move along through your quests. Good luck everyone. The StoryThe Stone of Ryuujin has been the source of all magic and magical beings. It was once desired for its power, however now it has started to crack, needing to be fixed. If it manages to break, all dragons and mythical creatures in the world will vanish. The stone and its fragments, being the source of magic, are the only way to cast magic, and the effectiveness of the magic depends on the wielder's ability to connect with the raw power in the stone fragments. However, the Heimnell Monarchy and the evil king Narceis wants the stone destroyed. By spreading rumors of the stones destruction would benefit the world, the Monarchy plans on ridding the world of dragons and gaining full control over the land. Only the most powerful of all alchemists can fix the stone and return it to its true glory, in order to save the world and the dragons. However, he has been thrown in prison by Narceis, thus setting a series of events in motion. The CharactersRici Gaia Username: Rici Character Name: Slave Number 1462, named Seijun by Takara Age: 15 Race: Human Weapon: A shining, razor sharp katana in great-condition, despite its age. Abilities: He can tap into his inner energy to release powerful techniques and skills. Appearance: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v445/rici16/yoh_1.jpgHistory: He cannot remember his past very well, outside the fact he was captured at a young age to battle in the arena as a slave. He survived the brutal years, being hardened by the harsh reality of his predicament. As he grew older, he grew more and more powerful, yet withdrew from the world emotionally, only speaking when needed, and even less. When Takara started talking to him, he started to become more emotional and talkative. When they found out that he was talking to her, he was sentenced to a death sentence, and is forced to wait painfully for his last battle. Other: As a slave, brutal battles taught him anything is a weapon, regardless of convenience. He also enjoys tranquil moments for napping, something taboo in the arena. Trimley Gaia Username: Trimley Character Name: Krishk Shvishkta (Or rather, the Librarian to those he meets) Age: 15 (In appearance. He is in truth as old as the planet itself.) Race: DemiGod Weapon(s): N/A Power(s): Psychokinetic abilities and telepathy. Anything from moving objects to manipulating elements. Appearence: Though he may take any form, his favorite is that of a human youth with black attire. This consists of cotton boots encased in iron, baggy cotton trousers, a cotton shirt, and a baggy doublet with a wide, raised collar that sags. On the back of the doublet is a symbol in the Language of the Heavens that stands for 'Librarian'. On his forehead is the symbol for 'Knowledge', and on his left shoulder blade is a brand with the symbol of 'Servant', but none know of that except for his masters. His hair matches the attire, jet black, and his eyes are respectively the shade of coals, but appear soft and gentle. History: He was created at the beginning of the world and has served the Gods of Time and Knowledge ever since. What does he do? He traverses across the world and is there for every important event that shaped the world's history. Of course he couldn't be everywhere at once. There are four others of his kind around the world, patrolling their own areas and collecting information endlessly. Other: Because of his heavy reliance on his mind, he is very weak physically. If one were able to bypass his defenses, he would be as easy to kill as a newborn. MythicalYoko Gaia Username: MythicalYoko Character Name: Asukako Age: Eighteen Race: Unknown Weapon(s): Asukako carries two swords, each of them made of an extremely rare black metal. Appearance: Asukako has eerily pale white skin to the point that she looks like a ghost. She has waist long jet-black hair that?s incredibly strait, some of the hair goes over her eyes. One of her eyes is gray, the other one being a sharp bloody red. One the left side of her body from her wrist up to her cheeks are tattoos, all of them saying things such as ?death? and ?damnation?. She keeps her features hidden underneath make up and a cloth tied around her head and over her one red eye, or she?ll simply wear a smooth white mask that has slits cut in for eyes. Asukako also has large black wings that she can make ?disappear?. Clothing wise she has slightly baggy pants, wears traveling boots and soft gloves with leather sewn onto the bottom of them. Asukako also wears a coat that is kept together with straps that run down the center of her body and stops at her waist. From there the coat opens up and stops at her ankles, and all of her clothing is black. Height wise she stands at 5?8? and weighs below ninety pounds. The reason for her weight is because her bones are hallowed and the rest of her body seems to be made up of something that?s different from a normal body; though she cuts just as easily as anyone else. History: Asukako was created by the Stone of magic, found on the stone itself as a crying infant. When she was taken in her tattoos appeared along with the changing color of her skin from a healthy tan to snowy white. A day later one of her eyes turned red, and the elder of the town who had discovered her declared her to be a part of the god of pure evil and that she would lead them all into eternal damnation. So she was locked away into a cave hidden in the forest where she was forced to live for over seven years. When she turned eight her black wings appeared, making the villagers fear her even more. When she was nine she broke out of her prison and fled, living inside of a forest far away where she stayed for five years. After that she began to travel, searching for the reason she had been born and why she was this so called ?eternal damnation?. She has five light brown leather rings on her arms, three on the left arm and two on the right. Maria stands at the mere height of five feet and six inches, weighing in at a hundred and fifteen pounds. History: From her strange hair and eyes it can be told that Maria isnt that normal. Maria comes from the realm of the dead, sent to put the living world back in order. In the world of dead she is one of the few who guard the spirits who were exorcised and those of the most violent and terrible nature to make sure that they will never be able to spread havoc again. Despite this she seems to always be carefree and enjoys singing and dancing. Maria has lived for thousands of years, though she doesnt always seem it. When they came their home was on fire, their parents and brothers inside had all been murdered along with almost all of the servants, and the two brothers that had gone hunting were also killed. The two of them immediately fled, and were caught. Takara was able to escape, however during the escape her sister saved her from a flying arrow and died. From there Takara ran to a city where she became a servant for a battle arena. There she learned how to fight and met the slave ?1462? and named him Seijun. After finally being caught together talking the two was both punished, Seijun sentenced to death and her punishment receiving a brand burned into her shoulder and a whipping. Character Name: Aesyclies Allumahrie
Age: Unknown; appears to be 21
Race: Unknown, but he appears to be human, but his personality and strength tell differently.
Weapon: A massive Broadsword, the hilt of the blade is made from some unkown animal skin. The metal of the blade is sharper than any steel known, and is obviously not of the human world. When the swords power is tapped into, the middle of the blade glows yellow. The sword had actually chose Aescyclies as it's master, and will only let him weild it properly.
Abilities: An immense power over lightning, Aesyclies has never shown that power since he became a slave.
Appearance: Aesyclies has tanned skin, even though he recides in dark quarters most of the time. Yellow markings are on the sides of his eyes. He has a short cut top, and short cut pants to, both black. On his chest are more yellow markings. He's very well built, and his muscles expand his garments a little. His hair is black. It stand up short, slightly spiked. His broadsword has a small one peice leather sheath on his back where it hangs from.
History: Aesyclies is very clouded with mystery. He's been a slave for that fool since the day they were captured, and he's lived ever since then. He's killed many dragons, and by the people, has officilly been named "The angel of death". No one knows how exactly he can kill so many dragons without the use of magic, but his Dai-Katana is technically a magical sword. Aesyclies could easily escape from the supposed "hell", but he remains for the perfect opportunity for the Stone of Ryuujin to pop up.
Other: Wise, and almost always thinking of himself, Aesyclies rarely thinks of others feelings. He questions many things, and why things are the way they are, and usually finds himslef as looked at as a little weird. Sometimes he can be egotistical, but rarely. He often, however, questions why humans do the things they do. Aesyclies's speed is shockingly great, considering his size and the weight of his blade. He is faster than any normal human. Isarde Gaia Username: Isarde Character Name: Vanyel Lynnius Age: 25 Race: Human Weapon(s): His three books. Power(s): He is a mage, of sorts. He carries around three books, each one full of a different type of spells: anima, or the elements like Water, Fire, Earth, and Wind; light, healing and creating light, using it as an attack; and elder, or dark magic, with creating and dispelling darkness and draining life. The weakness to the books is that he needs to read the spell in order to use it and it has to be said a loud. You take away his books, and he cant do anything. Appearance: Short, but thin and lithe. The art of the mage helps keep him thin. Using the magical energies also has started to bleach his long, raven black hair white. His blue eyes dont show the magical bleaching, since they are so light colored. He wears a dark grey cloak with the schools crest on it in green, white, and black. Under that he wears a pair of lose fitting trousers with a belt holding his three books on it. He wears brown boots. He commonly wears the red shirt of a Journeyman Mage. History: Born into a servant family at a mage school. He would pick up after the master of the school and run errands. One day, he found one of the books open. He started to read it. Nothing happened. Disappointed, he came back the next day. He tried reading it again. He came back on a third day and said the spell. A ball of light was created in his hands. He ran to the master of the school and showed him. His parents were so proud. He spent the next fifteen years learning at the school and becoming a better mage. He learned history, math, languages, and the arcane. He does not know how to use any weapon other then the books he carries. With out them, he is unarmed. He has spent the last five years, learning and traveling as a "Journeyman" Mage. His stop has taken him to the Arena City, to see what all he can learn there. Other: Just thought I might explain the way the books work. They are written with a special ink. This ink is magical and will only allow certain people to use the spells. Its all very old magic. These people need to have a special something in them, know to the school as "Mage Gift". This "Gift" allows the person to use the books. Anyone with out the book just reads words. War of the Black crystal.
A young boy of seven years old sat on the floor, cross legged, facing an old woman of about ninety who sat in an oak rocking chair before a fireplace, the boy facing his grandmother intently. "But Gramma!" The boy whined "Tell me the rest of the story! I can stay up!" The old woman looked at her granchild affectionately. "Alright child," she said softly, looking at the boy "but don't make such a fuss." The boy smiled happily and looked at his grandmother, fists underneath his chin.
"It started many ages ago," she said slowly "when the world was three hundred or so years old." She paused and looked at the fire, flicking her left index finger at it. "Look into the fire child, and listen to my words." she said. The boy obediently turned around and watched the fire. The old woman continued "A man of the name Tobias Marthine found a beautiful black crystal, buried beneath the ground. The crystal was a devilish thing, full of malice and evil, but its beauty would enchant any man."
The boys jaw dropped open as the fire started to take the shape of a man, pulling something up from the ground. "Gra--" he said. "Huh child." his grandmother said sternly, cutting him off "And keep watching the fire." The boy obeyed and kept watching. "When others found out about this crystal," she continued "they crowned Tobias king of their country. But word of the crystal spread rapidly to other countries, and many other kings wanted it." The fire took shap of a man being crowned. "War broke out, and every race entered it, the elves, the dwarfs, the lycans, the humans. All of the races in that time wanted the crystal, for it contained godly power." The fire took the shape of many armed men dueling eachother, bodies falling by the second. "Soon, the war became so intense that Tobias killed himself." the woman said as the fire showed a man stabbing himself with a jeweled dagger "But he had ordered that the crystal be taken to lair of Pagarn, the rock giant who had stored many treasures for Tobias." The fire showed a giant, storing the crystal in it's belly. "But Tobias was foolish, thinking the giant could keep it, for soon after, a dragon stole it and took it to it's keep." A dragon soared from flame to flame, until it started getting closer to the boy. As soon as it was at the edge of the flame, it let out a burst of fire that almost touched the boy. The young boy let out a squeal and ran to his room, slamming the door behind him. "Four hundred years later," The woman continued "A new group of adventurers arived, who would seek out the black crystal."
Soon after that, the woman died, leaving behind a small, black, glittering crystal to be remembered.

Bio:Averath was born of an elven mother and a human father. Supposedly, his name was supposed to bring him good luck because he was named after his tribe, but all it brought him was malice. When he was a baby, his father was shunned from the Averesti village of Averoth, for creating an impure child. Of course, it was only Averaths mother who loved him, but one day she turned deathly ill. She died when he was only four, and he was sent into the hands of his uncle who was the ruler of Averoth. When he was two hundred and eight he was banished from Averoth because of him and his cousin giving their lives to eachother. For a whole year, he has been shunned by both human and elves for his impure blood. Now, A year later from when he was banished, Averath has heard of the black crystal, and is determined to find it to restore himself to the elves of Averoth. Played by:Shader-san Name: Rosette Age:16 Race: Human Weapon(s): http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d186/Akea/Sword.jpghttp://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d186/Akea/Staff.jpgShe also carries a sort of firearmthat resembles a pistol, but does not the constant reloading. Inn fact, i doesn't seem to run out that often, and shoots minor to powerful spells. (But it does run out, and almost always has bad timing for doing so.) Meele skills: Technique called the Spilt Rose, which can be used as defensive and offensive attack. That, or she just fires off her specially made firearm like a made man. Her fighting skills are somewhat mediocre, and she takes pride in her running, climbing, and jumping skills. She's pretty..."bouncy" for a human. Magic skills: Pretty much all of her skills corresponds to which ever elemnet she invokes. Here are some: Earth Magic: Wizard Mark - Sets an identifying mark on an object of the caster's property which cannot be removed short of dispel. Earthquake - Focusing upon the earth around itself, the caster shakes the ground powerfully, hitting all around him.(Tires her out very quickly.) Stone Skin - Increases defense by casting stone armor upon the target. Fits over armor already worn by the target.(She pretty much just cast this on her hand before punching someone. Ouch.) Web - Enables caster to snare those about him in a magical 'net' projected from the hand. Can be dispelled or opened at will. Once the duration of the spell has ended the net disappears and those ensnared are freed. Fire Magic: Blindness - The target creature is strike blind. It remains until dispelled or until the target suffers an intense pain. Can not be removed by light. (She almost never does this, since it tends to back fire and work on her. I never said she was a master at magic.) Instantaneous Immolation Caster can transform himself or another creature into a ball of flame. It can fly at great speed and cause damage to opponents simply by crashing into them. Can be damaged by cold-base attacks.(It's like be tackled by a flaming linebacker! Dounble-Ouch!) Fireball - Caster unleashed a fiery projectile that explodes upon all in the area of effect. Strength depends on skill.(Another rarely used skill.) Volcano - Targeted area of the earth bubbles up molten lava.(Her aim with this really bites.) Air magic: Flying Carpet - This is a flying carpet which Mages use like a witch uses a broom. It takes only directional orders in the caster's language, and doesn't accept orders from other people.(When in Agrabah, do like the locals do!) Prismatic Beam - Seven prismatic beam rays hit the same target at the same time.(Oh! Pretty lights...that hurt..) Whirlwind - Increases wind speed in the sky making flight difficult if not impossible for flying creatures. Only large creatures i.e. Dragons are unaffected by this spell. Storm - Creates a magical storm with all the effects of a normal storm and additional effects of reducing enemy morale and movement, and causing fear. Difficult to control and only as strong as the caster. When used at sea its power is doubled. Water Magic: Dementia - Causes the victim to forget who/where he/she is, and what he/she is doing until they are injured in some way.(Another skill that's useful, but tends to backfire. Icehold - Traps anyone within the targeted area in ice. Ice Storm - Targeted area is pummeled by ice blocks falling from the sky. Geyser - Creates a jet of steaming water that extends 60 yards in a straight line and is 5 yards wide, from the wizard's hand. All fires, normal and magical, will be extinguished. The heat will damage any creature caught in it. Golden Stars of Protection - This spell creates golden, shimmering, star-shaped plates of force which move around the wizard in a constant motion, deflecting any missile, hand, or weapon attacks directed at the wizard. Lasts for two rounds.(This is actually pretty cool...when it works.) Light magic: Mystical Missile - A sparking, blue ray of positive energy shoots from the cleric's hand. When it strikes a target it evolves into a vortex of electricity that surrounds the victim. Resurrection - Enables the caster to restore a fallen ally or foe to life at the cost of preventing further spells from being cast until the caster has had two full days of rest. Note that this spell can only be casted three times during a Clerics life, and will only work if it was casted right away after the person has died. Summon Celestial - This spell summons a celestial that will fight on Clerics side and automatically attack any undead in the area, including the Vampires Regenerative Restoration - Caster gives a touched creature ability to regenerate lost or drained energy at slow rate. Dark Magic: Bleeding Wounds - This spell makes all wounds in targeted area re-open and bleed again. Poison - Changes small amounts of food or drink to poison. Can not generate pure poison. Substances that are already poisoned can't be affected. Generally not used to directly poison an enemy as it is difficult to cast and not as effective. Reincarnation - Turns the bones or bodies of dead humanoids into undead monsters, skeletons, or zombies, which remain loyal to the caster and only obey simple verbal commands. Cannot be dispelled, only destroyed. (She's not good at this either. The best she can do it probably attack you with a dismembered hand or something along those lines. Real scary. It'll give you the undead finger.) Cursed Scroll - Placed on books or scrolls, if anyone besides the spellcaster opens the scroll or book, that person will be cursed with whichever spell the caster has chosen. This can only be cured at a temple or by the original caster. Cantrips: (useful everyday spells.) Wash - This spell removes dirt from all smooth surfaces in the area of effect. This includes skin, dishes, and stone walls, but not wood (unless highly polished), a dirt floor, etc. The caster sweeps her arm in a wide arc while muttering the arcane phrase. Sobriety - Casting this cantrip removes all effects of alcohol from the Mage or any one other person he touches. It also instantly cures hangovers. The material component is a fresh lemon, whose juice must be squeezed on the Mage's fingers before the casting. The duration of this cantrip is permanent, until the subject gets drunk again. Mages require great concentration to cast this cantrip on themselves.(I can't see her doing this to herself. When she's drunk, she REALLY drunk.) Mend - This spell rejoins parted fabric, whether it was torn, cut, ripped, or shredded. It does not affect leather, nor will it affect a tear that has been subsequently altered significantly (sewn to something else, or hemmed). The caster must touch the cloth pieces while muttering arcane words. Impersonation - This cantrip allows the caster to impersonate any speaker with nearly perfect ability. The caster can only speak in languages he knows, and must possess a small item recently in close proximity to the original speaker (for example, an article of clothing). The caster's audience will probably be greatly amused if they can see who is speaking, or completely fooled if not. The material component is a mirror, which is consumed in the casting. Appearence: http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d186/Akea/Rose.jpghttp://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d186/Akea/Rosette.jpgI know the above doesn't look to glamourous. Se wears blue pants, a blue vest, and a black shirt underneath. Sometimes black gloves if she's ready to fight. Personality: Quick-tempered, optimistic, bossy, cheerful, stubborn, determined, very protective of the people she cares about. Bio: Rosette has gone through many postions, most of them fitting into the "outlaw" column. Some of them include theif, illegal retreivals, and pirate captain. Actually, she is in fact a very good and intelligent person, she's just made some bad choices in life. Her main reason is for her younger brother, Joshua. He was unfortunate kidnap from her when they were very young, and ever since she joined forces with her mysterious purple-haired friend Chrono, they've been scouring the country for years for any information on him. Her parents died before her brothers kidnapping, so she was forved to try and mature very quickly. She doesn't take the legends of the black crystal to be true, she just knows of its immense power. With it, she wants to find her brother, cure his disease, and use it to punish those who took him. (The punish the bad guy part is something she tends to exclude. A lot. Okay, she never mentions it.) Played by: Shader-san Name: Chrono Age: unknown Race: Demon Weapon: http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d186/Akea/AngelSword.jpgClass: Jack-of-all-trades Meele skills: Despite the look of a child. Chrono battles like a seasoned fighter. Highly skilled with his sword, he prefer it use about most skills when allotted. His demonic nature grants him a few useful abilities in his more human form. Increased sense and strength, for example, are a few perks. Magic skills: When allowed to fully transform by Rosette, Chrono becomes an unbelievable powerful adversary. His ability to heal incredible fast makes it difficult to inflict any last damage on him. Another unique ability is to be able to produce weapons from his arms. There is also a long, sharp, almost spin-like tail that comes from the base of his neck. This can be his most underestimated and deadly weapon. Appearance: http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d186/Akea/LittleChrono.jpg(^Human form) http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d186/Akea/AAA.jpg(^Demon Form) Personality: Kind, caring and patient, though Rosettes antics sometimes make him lose his temper. He has very strong emotions, and can be very dangerous when he gets angry. Bio: Chronos past is something hed rather not discuss, not even with Rosette, because of the painful memories it contains. He used to be the stereotypical demon, a vicious, blood-thirsty monster. That was until he met and an unusual woman, a prophet with unusually pure powers. She changed Chrono for the better, turning his tainted mind into something good, and nearly as pure. Unfortunately this lead to Chrono abandoning his comrades who immediately stripped him of his great powers. In the end, he wasnt strong enough to prevent the death of the woman he loved. Chrono sealed himself away inside her tomb, until he was rediscovered fifty years later by a pair of lost siblings. Rosette and Joshua. His interaction with them nearly resulted in both their death. Something he was luckily able to prevent. But in the end, Joshua was cruelly taken from them, and Chrono was forced to make a kind of contract with her in order to survive. Played by: Trimley Name: Cedrik Sarurdo (Cedrik has all hard enunciations: Ked'rik, not Sed'rik.) Age: 41 Race: Valgo (Magically altered human) Weapon: Dual KatarsClass: Spellblade Meele skills: Ivine Slip: The poisonous Ivine is spread upon the blades of Cedrik's katars. Contact of any sort will spread the poison, but contact with an open wound will cause a quicker reaction. It causes paralysis that spreads from the point of contact throughout the rest of the body. A target's entire body will be fully paralyzed within twenty minutes, or ten if Ivine made contact with an open wound. The effects last roughly two hours, more or less depending on a body's ability to resist. If target is antidoted after full effects have been attained, regain will take approximately half an hour. If antidoted before, the time varies depending on how far it has spread. There is one antidote in existance (which Cedrik carries at all times). Magic skills: Ivine Blast: A potential user must first have Ivine in their possession. Secondly, they must understand the magic they are controlling in order for it to be brought to use. Mental concentration/control required. The Ivine that is wanted for use is magically displaced to the requested location and bursts, spreading fine-powdered Ivine in the air. Effects are the same as Ivine Slip, but twice as fast. "Minos Murta": Incantation that summons/dispels Cedrik's katars. Only usable by him. "Sestos Inbindi": Allows Cedrik to blend with the shadows. He is undetectable by sight, smell, or sound. Requires mental concentration and shows serious signs of wear upon Cedrik after two-hour use. Movement in such a state shows serious wear after half an hour. Appearence: Cedrik is 5'11" tall and 150 lbs. of lean muscle. He wears boots like any other traveller, dark, baggy leather pants, and a black tunic. Over this, black doublet, covered in its entirety by angled white lines of various thicknesses that created a very intricate design. On his hands, metal-backed leather gloves. A large black neckwarmer, used also as a mouth cover, hung around his neck. His bangs reach his eyebrows. His hair is a blend of colors: A brown patch on either side, hanging over his ears, a red stripe here, blonde streaks there, black, and a few flecks of white. His left eye is an obviously unnatural red-brown, the two colors constantly battling back and forth for majority of presence. In his right, blue, green, and yellow are splashed together. Personality: Cedrik has high moral standards, but often places himself beneath them to bring about the desired outcome in a situation. He doesn't like to talk because of his clumsy speech, and he can be very defensive about it. Aside from that, though, he is very calm and laid-back. He never worries and knows that there is always a simple (however well-disguised) solution to any problem that he faces. Bio: Shortly after birth, Cedrik was placed at a madman's doorstep. This madman, this Sorceror, studied reactions of the body to certain magicks. The outcome was Cedrik's high sense of morals, honor, and justice, poor speech and social abilities, his discolored hair and eyes, and the effects from impede physical aging that he suffers. Oh, and his uncanny ability to sneak around and persuade others to look the other way. Cedrik was kicked to the street at age 14 and quickly ran away, fearing the contemptuous looks of those that surrounded his daily life. He never managed to find a way to successfully hide his abnormal features, so he gave up and occasionally flaunted them when people stared. Mixed reactions were always available. When Cedrik first heard of the Black Crystal, he knew immediately what he had to do. First, find out more information, and second, stop anyone from obtaining it. You are here Intro Rules/Misc.
