Winter. Oh how the Elder disliked winter. The snow got in his fur and then melted, the wind was freezing, and tempers were always high when you had no place to stay to ward off the snow and chill. And the snow, the snow, the snow, the snow... Apollo hated the snow. He could take the chilling winds, and the overall temperature of the season, but it was the frozen water that always set him off in a foul mood. There wasn't really an explination as to why he disliked the white powder so intensely, it was just that he did, and to him... that was all that mattered.

Bounding over the snow in his trek to find a cave or a hollow tree to take shelter in, night was fast approaching yet still a few hours away, the Elder wanted to stake out a place before the temperature dropped even more. He had been wondering on his own for several days now, not that he was a stranger to solitary exploration, but he had been hesitant to split up from the Namir who he had been journeying with. Another Namir meant another body to curl up next to to keep out the cold... and another animal to talk to when you started to feel lonely. As is life, his partnering arrangements never seemed to work out, eventually they would have to split ways.

Slowing down to a walk, Apollo lifted his head toward the sky, watching the small clouds of breath disapait into nothing and their heat died away. It was odd, that such a small burst of combining air could relate to the fading away of souls from the grasp of this unfeeling season. Shaking his head with a quiet sense of awe, overlaid with exhaustion, he could only hope he wouldn't run into a Namir, especially if that Namir was in some kind of trouble. He needed the rest of his strength for finding a home for the night. Picking up a fast pace bound, the Elder continued on his important search.

Paderau was walking alone through the snow, in a direction she had never been before. She was begining to grow tired of all of the couples in her home and around the clearing, they just continued to rub their good fortune into her face like sandpaper on wood. And this aggrivated her, although showing it would have been absolutly unlady-like. This was the first time she had ever gone anywhere unknown alone, not that she was much into traveling that way, it just sort of happened as such.
A cold burt of wind sent her shivering, oh how she would have adored to have a blanket. She looked up at the grey winter sky warily, then back to the seemingly empty landscape all around her. Nobody was going to find her here.

Normally he could run for quite a while, making good ground per day, but the snow was more detrimental to run on than sand. The deeper it got the slower he had to go, and by now, he wasn't going very fast at all. "Damn. This. Snow." Matching his words with his footfall, Apollo trudged through the snow, leaving a compressed trail behind him. Usually a Namir who prided himself in stealth, he wasn't very happy about the gaping track that wound behind him. Hissing as a buried branch snapped under his weight and stung his paw, the Elder inspected his paw for cuts or splinters, either could spell fatal infection without healing plants. And the most convenient of which would already have frosted and died.

His paw wasn't hurt, but the shallow lines tracing through his pads indicated the first steps of cracking. Every winter, he suffered from cracked pads, just another reason to hate the wet snow. Sure, some say that callused pads were least likely to crack from the cold, but Apollo had to disagree. If they were too far to either side, then cracking was inevitable, but if your pads were just right... long exposures to snow and cold wouldn't effect them. "Damn." He'd have to get them warm and rub them with moss, letting them rest for the night and forcing him to rest every so often for the next few days. Replacing his paw in the snow, Apollo began his slow trek once more.

It wasn't long afterwards that a new scent hit his senses, distinctly Namir, it was an oddity so far out in the tree smattered tundra. Intrigued by the anomaly, the Elder switched his direction, leading him closer to the scent and away from his carefully considered course. He could always find his way back, his tracks in the snow would stay, unless it began to snow heavily and covered them from sight. Using his tail to keep balance as he leapt onto a fallen tree, Apollo seized the chance to clear his coat of snow, before leaping from the log into a tree. It wasn't the fastest way of travel, and he had to constantly drop out of the branches when the next tree yielded no low branches, but the height would give him an unique vantage point. Drawing closer to the source of the smell, Apollo adjusted his eyes as the white coat of the Namir blended with the white of the snow.

It was a female, that was for sure, but what was she doing on her own? Being a Namir of his years, Apollo grew up when women were escorted by another, whether it be female or a male. Oh well. So's the loss for the female, she didn't even have a dark coat that could help shield the cold when the sun appeared through the clouds. Leaping to a tree closer to the female, Apollo did nothing to try and hide the rustling, landing on a low branch not to far off. Crouching down so he could lay on the branch, the male let his tail drape over the edge while he studied the female with his yellow eyes. Making a high pitched noise, the closest thing to a whistle a normal Namir could make, Apollo twitched his tail and raised an eyebrow. "Well, well. I must be seeing things... another Namir so far into the wilderness as such? And on their own?"

Paderau's ears twitched as she heard some rustling in the trees. How strange was it, that there was something out here and close to her. She sniffed the air, it was another namir. How could there be another namir out here, she was sure that nobody had tailed her, although at this point she wouldn't have minded some confort by one of her aquatences from the clearing.
Her eyes quickly caught something, black and white and coming down from a tree. She looked up to where it seemed to come from, and she winced as she heard a whistle. Paderu listened to the other namir, what sounded like a male, talk. "It's not as if I would have chosen it to be as such, but you are correct. I suppose it's incredebly un-lady like for me to be here on my own, but there was nobody whom would have came with me. Besides, I had to get away before I let my temper disgrace me."

"Hmm." He smirked. "So, not an adventurer." Retracting his tail back into the tree, Apollo yawned, already starting to tire of the female. It was hard to keep his attention focused on a Namir, unless they immediately catch it in some way or another. Rising to his paws, the Elder balanced on the branch for a few moments before leaping from the tree, sinking into the snow to stick his landing. He could just leave the female here, all alone, and return to his original path... or he could see if she needed help. Either would expend energy, and one would be far more productive than the other, especially since she probably came from around the same direction that he had. It would loose him daylight, energy and time if she needed help getting back to where ever she was from...

Straightening up from his crouch, Apollo casually swiveled his ears back as he surveyed the female now that he was considerably closer and had an unobstructed view. She was white, but there was a kind of blue thatchwork on her tail and ears, something he hadn't observed when he first saw her. Grey stripes on her forelegs, but the thick snow hid anything below the middle. Sighing as he twitched his tail to rid it of excess snow, the Elder slowly made his way closer to the female, still trying to decide what exactly he should do, even though his warped conscience was grumbling to him about how it wasn't his business and he should leave her here. "Ahh... Family troubles. Bothersome things families are, arguing and the like." Stops a respectful distance away, even though he really didn't feel like being polite at the moment. "You really should have not wondered so far off from your home. Up here, the weather's pretty hostile, and Namir rarely wonder so far North. Your appearance was such... an anomaly, that it drew me from my path." Waves his paw in a vague northwestern direction before speaking again. "We don't normally get the er... homely type up here."

A small smirk twitched at the corner of his mouth. "Is it safe, to assume, that you are lost? Because if you aren't, then I shall be on my way. I need to find shelter before nightfall, the temperature dips below freezing at night... cold for even a hardened explorer."

"No... I'm not an adventurer..." She glanced down at the snow, this elder's presance was intimidating, and besides, it's rude to look straight into the eyes of someone whom you've just met. She glanced up to see him eyeing her, and her ears twitched slightly. "No, I haven't any family or the like, so how could I have troubles with them?" She looked back down. "I'm sorry to have caused you trouble... And although I'd like to say I am not lost, it would appear as such."
