Quick Over View
Name: Communion
Key God(s): Un, a genderless being usually depicted as pure light or a glowly sphere (not the sun/a disk, a sphere/globe of light). The people refer to Un as an "it", or "the One" as well.
Place(s) of Worship: Temples that are usually as elabortatly as the community in which they serve will allow. Stone is preferable, but woodern stuctures aren't uncommon. The buildings themselves tend to be very bland on the out side, usually tall rectangular things in muted colours. Inside is more often then not brightly lit (by electric lighting and chemical concoctions, not candles), draped in tapsties and indications of wealth and science.
Holy Text(s): The Collaboration
Origins: Communion is based around a fusion of Christianity and science. The texts from which it was created were scraps of books and computer data from The Old World. These bits and pieces were compiled by a group of early New World survivors (or so the story goes) who sort a saviour from the strange and deadly new world.

Communion - the Common Religion
The religion followed by the majority of Common (both nations) is Communion, and worship a genderless god (it is a major trespass to designate a gender to the god) known as Un. Communion is essentially a combination of a variety of Christian beliefs infused with an element of science based enlightenment. The focus is to purify, unite and educate the people in the hopes of creating a world free of conflict and suffering.
The basis of Communion comes from a number of texts salvaged found in the remaining ruins of the Old World. Because of the wealth of information used to create the structure of Communion, it is often considered ‘open to interpretation’, but, each nation has an ‘official’ interpretation of the values its people should follow.
Kingdom’s current interpretation leans more towards its people reaching a state of peace within its self while supporting its fellow man. Previously, Kingdom held a stance of intolerance towards those who did not follow ‘the good path’, and a push towards converting nonbelivers. This change in ideas is very much due to the degradation of Kingdom’s moral due the war. Kingdom is also very lax with its inforcing of the commands. This had led to an increase in ‘immoral’ behaviour, but a growth in the nation’s over all happiness.
United Empire, on the other hand, has become strict in its enforcing of Communion. They focus greatly on the idea of enlightenment bringing happiness to its people. This has led to rapid technological improvements within the nation, but a slow collapse in the moral of Empire.
For those looking for some quick information on Communion: • The God has no Gender. Refer to it as an ‘It’. • It is called Un. Feel free to make up curses/ blessings based around this. You can still call it ‘God’ if you like though. It’s not uncommon for Un to be referred to as that. • The Communion equivalent to the bible is the ‘Collaboration’ • Executions of Heretics and others who commit crimes against Communion are still held. Empire enforces this more then Kingdom who tends to look the other way towards what it considered minor infringements (homosexuality, deviancy, adultery, not attending mass, opening businesses on a Monday) • Mass is held on Monday for 3 hours. It is technically compulsory to attend, but Kingdom does not enforce it. Empire does. Heavily (being court out of mass 3 times can mean facing a death penalty). • Communion churches are large, elaborate buildings.
If you want anymore information, please ask. I’m really not very good at explaining Communion :/
