The Long Track
An abra owned by the pokemon committee of Zatao that sponsers the race teleports your team to the Carona Coast. You can choose to travel by sea if you have a water pokemon or by land. There is a large road block in the form of a small mountain of rocks at the middle of the track caused by a large landslide from the Rinaul Mountains. It is possible for a pokemon to scale it, but it may take a while.
When you hit space 35 to space 45, every movement you make is cut by half (If you rolled a 12 sided dice for movement and got an 8, you can only move 4 spaces. Round up if decimal) unless you have a water pokemon and took the water route or flying pokemon and fly above it. This track is 55 spaces long.

Luna smiled as she watched Albireo splash around in the water as gleeful as ever. Even though the water was a bit warmer today - to Luna's delight - the dewgong still enjoyed playing in the sea immensely. "We got one of your favorite fields, huh Albireo?"
Albireo did a small flip under the water, resurfacing and spraying Luna in the face with more water. "Dew!"
Luna wiped away the water from her face with a towel that she had brought in handy after her past experiences in racing in the long track. Preperation was useful. In a random playful urge, Luna leaned down towards an open part of the sled, dipped her hand in the water, and splashed Albireo back. "Haha~this'll be fun~Let's do our best then~!"

The arcanine pranced impatiently. Llyri had gotten considerably better at mounting and dismounting since that first race, but he was still gripping the guide loops for dear life as she shook him about in her eagerness.

As the arcanine shot off across the landscape, Llyri shouted "SAFEGUARD!" reminding her to put up a precautionary sheild. It hadn't really been necessary last time, but he'd done a little research on this opponent. This one was much more likely to want to fight, especially on the long track where a water pokemon would have the speed advantage.

As soon as Albireo saw the other pokemon make a muscle twitch movement to leap off, he dived into the cool water as well. The sight of the Carolina Coast underwater was nice and clear, perfect visual for him. With great excitement, he pulled the sled forward.
Luna on the other hand was mroe focused on their safeguard attack. Well, that was fine with her team. "Hey 'Bireo, icy wind!"
Albireo managed to hear Luna's command, just barely, from underwater. As soon as he resurfaced for a quick breath, he faced towards the other team and exhaled a torrent of cold wind at the opposing team.

As the arcanine dashed forwards, she her path was suddenly cut by a gust of cold wind. Llyri was nearly blasted off her back. He ducked his head into the thick fur of her neck and held on tight. The arcanine slowed for a few steps, but quickly sped up again with an Agility. HP: 1000/1000

Luna looked at the agility attack. She was prepared for this and had just the move she wanted to use. Of course, Albireo may have been just a bit rusty on it, but it was still useful. "Hehe~Perfect! Albireo, mimic!"
Albireo's eyes temporarily glowed while observing the agility attack before he dove under water, trying to remember the movements. It would take him a little time, but he /knew/ he would be able to memorize it and call it his own.

"Agility again!" Llyri prompted. It couldn't be helped that the dewgong had copied the move and might be able to now match their speed, nor could they reduce it by any. Now, all they could do was run. HP: 1000/1000

Albireo resurfaced, barking to indicate that the move had been memorized! Luna understood his signal clearly.
"Good boy 'Bireo! Now let's try this out~Agility!"
Albireo barked excitedly as his whole body began to glow with the new move. "Deeeew!"
He dived into the water again, starting to feel faster already. It was going to be a lot more fun now when the water would blur past him and the sled would start making a nice gliding sound through the water. It would be a lot of fun~And he would be complimented for being a good boy again!

"Arrr!" the arcanine growled. The other team was ahead! She sped up with another Agility snarling fiercly. She hadn't come this far just to lose! Llyri clung tightly to her fur. The arcanine was now going as fast as she could with the extra ice still dragging her down. HP: 1000/1000

Albireo felt the speed kick in. Suddenly his body was lighter - as light as the water. He felt more free. He felt faster. He felt as if he could soar through the water like the sky, almost as well as his feathery teammates could in the air.
"'Kay 'Bireo, we're at a good pace~! Let's keep speeding it up!"
Albireo took one smooth glide to the surface of the water, spurting some water out to let Luna know that he understood before diving back in and speeding off like a bullet.
Luna grinned, hanging onto her hat tightly with one hand and the reigns with the other. The wind rushed past her hair and she decided that racing certainly was at least as thrilling as battling.

((Really? I thought Safeguard was turn based.)) The arcanine shook her head hard in frustration when she saw the water sled suddenly speed up. Run run. That was all she could do. Or not. "Thunderfang?" Llyri suggested, wondering if she even knew the attack. It so happened that once upon a time in her youth as a growlithe, she'd been exposed to a TM. Suddenly, she reared into the air, sending a blast of electricity into the water ahead of them. (paralyzing) HP: 1000/1000
