After more than 30 years of constant use, I finally had a somewhat big problem with my Ithaca. Long story short, I was considering putting in a modified choke instead of just the plain full barrel ($200-250) and now it would be another $100+ to get it fixed. Figured it would be better to just get a brand new main gun. I'll probably get it repaired one day just because I still love that old gun. Anyways, it's a Benelli Nova. Has a 3 1/2" chamber with a 28" barrel, but it can take 3" and 2 3/4" just fine. Damn those 3 1/2" shells look big...

Um.... is there a pump on it? Because if there is I'm not seeing it.
Also, what exactly happened with the Ithaca?

Yes; it is a pump. I believe the pump's all the way back, hence why you can see the black ammo tube.
Anyways... Nice catch. biggrin
Edit: Does it have the "14 oz. recoil reducer", located in the butt stock?

Which Ithaca?
Model 37?
If so, which version? I like the RG versions. If it is one, might you consider selling it?
It's by far the best shotgun I've used so far. I like the M37RG (12 gauge, though I only have 20 gauge ammo at the moment) that I had the priviledge to fire on multiple occasions.

No, but the recoil isn't that bad anyways. @uryu: yes it's a 37 no, I will never sell it. the threads that hold the wood piece on for the pump stripped out. Don't know why, I always checked it over and it showed no signs of doing anything, even earlier that day.

Inquisitor Brock 1. It's a Benelli Super Nova if it takes the 3 1/2 2. Ew, shoulda got a Rem super mag. 3. How did you piss off a liberal? :/ 1. Nope, it's a Nova. You definately aren't the first person to say that either. (really you are 4th or 5th) Actually, I can't see a huge difference between the two, except the bigger trigger guard and the fancy stock on the Supernova. Just to clear up any confusion, it has 3 1/2 chamber stamped on it and I already went through almost half a box of 3 1/2" Remmington BBs. 2. It's still a nice gun. 3. I got that from some bumper sticker or something. "Piss off a liberal; Buy a gun,"

If you say so.
Unless you're 100% sure, don't fire the mags in it.

Looks like you'll also piss off people who spent 3 times as much for your shotgun!
That tears it. Since I already have a nice Winchester Model 12 in prime condition, I think I'll get a Benelli Nova deer slug model. Short, sweet and to the point! And I can live without the camo finish.
Always wanted a dedicated deer slug shotgun.

Always wanted a dedicated deer slug shotgun. Yeah, it was $479 with a 15% off sale on firearms. I don't really deer hunt enough (any) to worry about a rifled barrel though. The box of slugs I do have says to not use in twist barrels, so IDK. All I know is that I'm not shooting slugs out of a barrel with a screw in choke.

Fresnel Man of the Demoneye I got that from some bumper sticker or something. "Piss off a liberal; Buy a gun," I guess what I meant is that I'm sick and tired of anti-liberal groupthink when I'm just wanting to talk about guns. Quote: Haven't seen you around for a while though. Trying to change that.

I do agree with you on that point though. We should stick to discussing guns more.
