Anyone else have J-Rock CDs from this publisher? I didn't realize they were a bootlegger until tonight... So, both my MARS disk and Gackt & MM singles disk are fakes. ><;;;

Is EVERYTHING from Ever Anime a bootleg? I bought several anime soundtracks from them at the mall (not ordered online!) and never thought anything about it. Luckily my J-rock CDs are from Tofu Records, what few I've got. Then again, I think my Maaya Sakamoto CD might be EA... *panic panic* sweatdrop How can I tell if they're real or not?
Also, don't buy anything from Hong Kong. There are no copyright laws there. I think the same goes for Taiwan. You mostly have to watch out for that one on ebay.

I'm not sure on that one... I'm positive they do some bootlegging though, as they were listed as the publisher for a Gackt CD and for the Advent Children Soundtrack on AnimeCastle. Info on bootlegging companies is hard to come by, at least it is for me. But I'll keep looking for more info on them. EDIT: Here, you guys might wanna check this out: http://www.digital.anime.org.uk/piratefaq.html

Does anyone have any info. on Tofu Records? I have the Laruku and TM Revolution CDs from them. I've got The Pillows and Angela from Genoma (or something like that)

I've got The Pillows and Angela from Genoma (or something like that) :] Tofu records releases are legit, if you look on the back of the Laruku cd it does say Ki/oon at the top, which is the label they are signed to. Plus, they are made here in America, not Taiwan. ^^ I'm not 100% sure of the other ones your talking about, but if you bought them from Suncoast or something they should be fine too. :3 I remember hearing that a company was going to make a domestic release of the Pillows. I hope I'm answering your question. ^^; ~I knowticed that you asked a question earlier about how to keep away from the bootlegs. XD It would probably be wise to look up which band is under which label and such, so when you see the cd's you could check that for authenticity. Also, if you are buying a Gackt cd, look at the packaging. From my expirence, they are usually not in a standard jewel case, unless they are singles. They are usually in a fancy thick paper sorta thing. X3

Yeah, like Claret said, Tofu is official.
As for the other two... if you mean "Geneon", then yes, they should be official as well. ^-^

Vampi's officially revolting against JPopHouse.
Not only do they seem to be the cause for a couple bands cancelling their US tours, but they also seem to be selling bootlegged CDs. Not to mention really shitty jewelry... I bought a replica Gackt Cross Necklace from them once, and it must have been made of pewter or something, 'cause it ******** fell apart because it kept bending.
But anyways. I decided to check up on them since I was so pissed at them. And yeah. They're selling bootlegs. Not all of them, but the legit ones are usually ULTRA-expensive. If you ever buy from them (which I hope you don't), make sure and check the publisher. If it says something about Taiwan, my suggestion is to stay away from it.
For example- LArc-en-Ciel-Ectomorphed Works 10 Tracks - Release Date: 6.28.00 - Ki/oon Sony Records $35.00
BUT...
LArc-en-Ciel-Real 10 Tracks - Release Date: 8.30.00 - Sony Records, Taiwan $23.00
Oh yeah. Something's wrong there. 3
But wait, there's more. Some just say "Ki/oon Records". Some say "Ki/oon Records Taiwan". Even some that say Ki/oon still have the code for the Taiwanese company instead of Ki/oon.
JPopHouse.com lists it as: LArc-en-Ciel-Real SMD8357
BUT
LArcom.net lists it as: REAL L'Arc~en~Ciel KSC2-333
You get the idea. Don't order jewelry from Jpophouse.com. They're ******** who fail at life. 3
EDIT: Apparently Sony Music Taiwan is legit, but still. Taiwan is infamous for bootlegging, so just be careful, okay?

How're they responsible for the canceling of the US tours? I didn't know about that. I'm sorry that you ended up with crappy jewlery from there. The only things I have gotten from there are two magazines. An Arena 37 one and a Cure one. That was like back in July I believe.

I guess magazines would be okay to get from there, but I don't want to support them. 3

Mabye I interperated your post wrong Vampy..but:
"LArc-en-Ciel-Real 10 Tracks - Release Date: 8.30.00 - Sony Records, Taiwan $23.00"
Sony Music Taiwan I wouldn't jump to that conclusion so suddenly. SONY is obvisouly a huge company, and they make CD's for so many different counties. (Mabye they own ki/oon too..I don't know X3) So, to my knowledge, the Taiwan CD's on Jpophouse.com aren't necessarily bootlegs. A lot of artists also release Taiwan editions. (They're cheaper, but not bootlegs or anything.) It's like how Tofu records releases certain CD's to the U.S. I don't mean to totally stick up for Jpophouse..I didn't like how they handled the Psycho le Cemu concert last year..but they do sell legit CD's. :] (They also sell the new Isabelle and Dacco cd's..well did, until Dacco was sold out XD Brownie points for them! Plus, they're usually the only place at anime con's that sell jrock CD's, at least for me>_<) I understand where you are coming from about the crappy jewlery though. And their prices are a bit expensive, but they are a somewhat small operation, they certainly aren't any YesAsia. (Or mabye they are just greedy and want to make more money) So I guess that has to be taken into concideration.
