Description: Well, a lot of news, not a lot of time on my part. Here are the important highlights:
*We have begun to experiment with diplomacy and inter-guild communications. For now, we are working out agreements and alliances with the UGMF and the DRA. Check the threads marked with those names.
*Major Lum has created a high school RP, for those interested
*Most importantly, Sergeant Namine has brought up the brilliant idea to form a Barton government/state/nation/anarcho-syndicalist commune-esque thingy and I encourage all of you, officers and enlisted, to attend. It is in the thread entitled Barton United on the front page. This is an important progression for the nation-state-town-planetoid structure of Barton, so be sure to attend this Sunday, April 26, 2009, as we will be discussing very important topics of, er, discussion...

Description: Given that it's Spring Break for me and I currently have nothing to do, I thought that I might set up one of these.
There hasn't been much news, but the news that there is is pretty big. First, let's start at home. I recently check the mule this morning and found that the Army is now just 50k short of a million gold. Given this, I added a new option to the payroll system and once again moved it to the front page so I can get some work done. Go check it out. Now.
Outside the guild, key members of the Army (and some not so key) have joined a guild known as Battlefield, a guild of guilds as you will. We will hopefully gather new recruits from there and be able to find someone to wage war on. Remember, to the victors come the spoils, but since we ain't got jack crap in our armory anyways and have no money to have stolen, jokes on them!
mrgreen Ahem. That is all.

Description: I've been slacking ont his alert, mainly because it's a waste of time that I put one of these up here anyways and am considering scrapping the damn thing, but here it goes:
First of all, I made a new RP, don't feel like explaining, go take a look if you're interested. Second, I moved the Salary thread from the Suggestions Box to the main forum since I actually do want some feedback on it. As for anything else, if I missed it, someone else file this, I'm considering going on vacation anyways.

Description: Due to the lack of activity (and perhaps interest) in the Army Lottery, I am considering moving for it to be disbanded and instead a salary system to be put in place. Before you jump to conclusions, look in the Suggestions Box for more details on this.

Description: As few of you probably noticed, there is a new shop in the Army Surplus Section, run by myself. Head over and read the description, as some of you might find it useful if you're not into scrounging the market 24/7. I offer discounts on my prices for Barton members, as well as deal-finding services (Prices will be explained)

Description: Alright, news about the lotto: It's fixed now. The rules have been adjusted and both the pot and the number range have been doubled while the numbers you can select per ticket have been increased as well.
As usual, for details and what not, check the lotto thread.

Description: Today's announcement contains of two part, one brief, one long. The brief one is this: To all who celebrate it, Happy Chinese New Years! Gong Xi Fa Cai/Gung Hay Fat Choy!
The other, longer announcement is that the lotto results are now in, look inside for details, but the lottery has been frozen for an indefinite amount of time, but I have taken the liberty of proceeding with the drawing and doubling the jackpot due to the long delay. The contestants are myself, Ember, and Doc.
sweatdrop Surprisingly, with the vast range on numbers, no one won...

Description: Not much news, except for the fact that we now have a new sub-forum! Well, technically not new, but you know what I meant. Anyways, it's called West Point so go take a look. That's an order.

Description: Alright, long time, no alert, not that anyone ever reads this crap. Anyhow, aside from the US getting a new President of the United States, not much is new.
What is new, however, is that we have finally decided on an idea and a name for that new sub-forum. We've already decided it, if you haven't been checking these things to find out about it, too bad, but all in all, go over there, vote, blah blah blah.
Ahem, anyways aside from that, there's an issue with the lotto. As L has entered an... odd set of numbers, I've decided not to proceed with it until the issue has been resolved.

20,000 GOLD-------------------
Date: 4 January 2009
Posted By: Colonel Chang Wang
Description: Alright, first post of 2009 and not much to report on. All I have to say is that thanks to the efforts of myself, Doc, Ved, and Ember, we now have an idea for that empty sub-forum: a discussion/debate sub-forum.
However, due to the nature of some topics, we are putting a ban on all discussions relating to religion, abortion, religion, religion, abortion, abortion of religion, religious abortion, as well as other topics similar along with a few more that we will be posted in those forum rules.
This sub-forum is for
serious and
mature discussion only, i.e. politics, the enviroment, the effects of drug abuse and it causes, etc. Bitching, whining, complaining, and other such nonsense will not be tolerated. Do that elsewhere or if it pertains to your life or someone elses, put it in our Life Discussions forum.
All we have to do now is name the damn thing.
sweatdrop In other news, voting ends for Ember's avi contest today and by a one vote margin it appears as if Finn Malcolm is the winner of the grand prize of 20,000 gold! Congratulations, Finn! Our runner-up is Ember herself, cashing in for 10,000 gold. And who cares about the last contestant.
xd UPDATE: We have a new (and currently deemed by me as entirely competent) member in our ranks, Hinote Doragon. Welcome to the Army, Private.

Description: Well, after nearly singing off my own damn eyebrows and once again coming close to giving myself a near-vasectomy at the hands of a runaway artillery shell, I have returned in one piece to give the last report of 2008.
Voting for General Ember Anderson's Winter Avi Contest begins tomorrow, meaning entrance ends tomorrow. Once again, I am obligated to remind everyone to stop by and check the Suggestions Box for any new updates on the front page design.
Also, Brandon, don't get shitfaced again like last year. Just thought I should say it now before you come back to HQ and start whining, "Why the Hell didn't anyone remind me to lay off on the liquor? I drank [insert number between 3-10] cases of beer last night! Now if you'll excuse me, I'ma go pass out..." We all remember last year quite vividly, my friend.
With that said, I hereby conclude one of the most... interesting years ever. A year of T-Bod, a year of cross-gender... things..., a year for change, both in real life and in these hallowed halls of Barton, and among all else, a year for growth. This speech will be continued in the main forums, for those who even bother to read these things.

Description: Ahem, yes, after the long break, no real post (mainly because I was lazy) but anyways, here's your news for the day:
At the lottery, once again, no one wins. Mainly because me and Ved are the only ones playing. Meanwhile, the Seven Seas is running pretty smoothly, so anyone who got invited, I encourage you to accept before it's too late. Doc has also put up several new medals and we are always accepting ideas, so swing by the Media Corps when you get a chance.
That said, we also need to plan on revising the front page, so swing by the Suggestions Box
ASAP. That is all and have a great New Years, don't get too hammered, and don't blow yourself to hell and back 15 times over.

Description: I would like for ALL members to now head over to the Medals Development Thread in the Media Corps Sub-forum. There in a post I have made (It should be the last one) is the suggestion for adding Bar to medals, as well as a new medal concept. I would like everyone's input. Please realize that if you do not help me with your opinions and input, such medals and opportunities will not be created, thus meaning, you will be less likely a candidate for a medal when the awarding begins.
For a description of what exactly Bar is, please go there. Now. And vote on the poll only AFTER you have read and done your utmost to comprehend the knowledge that is there.

Description: Doc's RP is looking up and running so if you're gonna join, do it now. Also, Ember's setting up the Seven Seas of Gaia again, so she would like to encourage all the literate members that are interested to swing by.
Also, as a reminder, we
NEED to begin work on redoing the front page, editing the mission statement, adding images so it doesn't look like crap, and whatnot, so remember to swing by the Suggestion Box and look at the Front Page Revision thread and put in your input.

Description: General Ember Anderson's got a new contest started up and while she's setting that up and putting the finishing touches on it, I'll go ahead and post the alert here. In short, the Barton Army is having a Winter Season avi contest. Seem boring? How's a 20k award for the grand prize winner and a 10k award for the runner-up? Hurry up and head on down to sign up. The contest needs at least 3 or more people to really be legit so hurry and sign up.
Contest starts this Sunday and ends New Years Day. As a reminder for the navigationally/apparently mentally impaired, this contest and its details can be found in the Mess Hall (Contests) sub-forum.

Description: In the near future, an RP will be set up. It will be based upon the Second World War, and will be a semi-exclusive RP, wherein all members who refuse to follow historical accuracy and high levels of literacy
will be barred from the RP, as it is no good if other members cannot understand you.
For those interested, please visit the post in the Private RPs thread. If you are still interested afterwards, PM me, and I'll alert you all as to when the RP is actually created. Improvements are currently being made to the Weaponry thread to help those who are less than experts.

Description: Alright, since this is the first post of its kind, let me sum up everything that needs to be looked at. Members, please visit the Suggestion Box and provide your input in the Front Page Revision thread. Also, take a look at the Medals Concepts and Developments thread in the Media Corps subforum.
Also, attention RPers! Rules and a guide to equipment and vehicles used in many war/military/action/adventure RPs are currently being created by Doc for future use and reference. By entering an RP, you are held accountable for having read these rules and any infraction committed violating these rules will be dealt with accordingly.
