I just got it at Wal-Mart, and it looks pretty interesting though I haven't had the chance to read it yet. I'm especially excited about Dumbledore's commentary.

So if you've already read Beedle the Bard what did you think of it?

I thought it gave a very interesting line between muggles and "wizards" I mean to date back so far is amazing, it even partially answered one of the questions I've been pondering over for a good long while.

I've always wondered what came first wizards and or muggles, is such a nifty line that is drawn between the two.

I thought it was interesting as well, but much too short. I was honestly expecting something a little thicker. When I first saw it I had just planned to read it while I was at the store and not actually buy it, but I was guilted into paying for it when I read about the Chrildren's High Level Group confused

I have read some of it and I like the stories. I also like Dumbledore's commentary. I thought that the commentary might have been a little too long, but it was still interesting. I also would have liked it to be a little bit longer but I am still happy that I got it!!

I just got it for Christmas so now I can read this thread and post. Yay! (Didn't want to spoil myself)

The stories were cute, and the commentary had me thinking.

I loved the insight that the reader is able to get into the earlier years, both from Dumbledore and Beedle. My favorite part probably had to be the Fountain of Fair Fortune's commentary. I really enjoyed reading about the stories the Wizarding children knew and grew up with. And the additional information about some characters that were only mentioned once in the main canon was quite satisfying.

It was short in my opinion, but then again, I'm a fan. I'll always be clamoring for more information, more stories, more tales.

I love Babbity Rabbity and her Cacking Stump! The title makes me giggle and the story is cool. I also love The Tale of The Three Brothers.

I haven't read it yet, but I really want to! I have enough money for it, but we haven't gone to Barnes and Noble in a while. Everyone's saying it's too short. How many stories are in it?

Kitty_Chan, there are five tales from Beedle the Bard, and all have sections of commentary from Dumbledore after them. So, basically it's like a ten-chapter book. And after coming from DH's thirty-six/seven chapters, it's quite short. But I'd still consider it well worth the effort.

AhhhSupp, did you realize all you posted was the quote? Did you mean to put something after that?

I just got it yesterday and finished it last night! I loved the commentary, and Babbity Rabbity and Her Cackling Stump is my favorite story. I don't think that the book Hermione got from Dumbledore is the same book though. Hermione was reading that book through their entire Journey.
But in the Seventh Harry Potter book it says:

Chapter Seven, The Will of Albus Dumbledore
Scrimgeour now pulled out of the bag a small book that looked as ancient as the copy of Secrets of the Darkest Arts upstairs.

Though, it was in runes so she had to translate it, so I guess it makes sense.

I got the book for Christmas, and like you, haven't had the time to read it yet. However, I'm looking forward to starting it as soon as I finish Inkheart. It shouldn't take too long, because as we all know, it is a very small book.

My favorite story is The Fountain of Fair Fortune. It was so sweet. It was quite similar to muggle fairy tales. And I would like to know how in the world Jo came up with The Warlock's Hairy Heart? That was just weird and gory and it didn't seem like Jo's style of writing. What do you guys think of that story?

I must say that I am a bit disappointed... although it says in Deathly Hallows that it is a small book, I would have been glad if it had been a bin thicker and if there had been some more pictures in it.
I mean, imagine the fairytale books we have, there are always lots of coloured pictures in it... and I thought that the whole thing was a bit short as wel..
still, the stories were good and Dumbledore's comments were interesting

The Fountain of Fair Fortune was my favourite story and commentary. Both parts had me smiling a lot. Actually, the commentary about the teenage drama that resulted from trying to perform the play had me laughing really hard! lol
