 The Short TrackA natu owned by the pokemon committee of Zatao that sponsers the race teleports your team to the Pilkiras Plains. There's no real dangers here, it's just a race to the finish! This track is 30 spaces long.

Ahh... comfy cloud... drifting through the heavens... ahhh....
With a loud blaring noise screaming, "TWO MINUTES UNTIL RACE STARTS," Sunnie awoke with a jolt. Wait what... was I just... whaaaa?! Not quite knowing that she had completely slept through the previous race yesterday, she sat herself up and talked herself into getting ready while looking around the empty plains.
"Alright, alright, it's our first race, Sunnie... We can do this... We can DO this..." Turning around, she saw Kris glaring at her with a questioning look. "Huhwha? What are you looking at me for like that? Don't worry, I'll win us this thing, then we can move on to the second round..."
Kris decided not to tell Sunnie that this was the second round - it was funnier that way.

Kris smirked at Sunnie. "Yes, Sunnie. This is our first race." Kris couldn't tell whether or not the other trainer caught her sarcasm(she wasn't using her sarcasm face). Either way, she knew Sunnie could take it. She was a trooper, just like Paix.
Paix made himself known then, letting out a small coo(though with Paix, it didn't sound much like a coo) and nudging Kris to the side. She laughed and patted the legendary softly, whispering encouragements in his ear.
They were ready!

Glancing around in a confused manner after sitting idly, Sunnie decided that she was confused. She put her hands on her hips and stared out into the open. "My first race..." she began to say, "and the opponent doesn't show up. Sorry for disappointing you, Kris - I know you wanted to race just as bad as I did!"

"aklsjer ALBIREO!" Luna cried out, clinging to her rampaging dewgong for dear life. The seel pokemon seemed excited, most likely because of the berries he ate. The tell-tale berry stain around his mouth was a very apparent indication of what the dewgong had been up to.
With one final excited leap, Albireo landed right next to where Sunnie and Paix were at the start line.

The usually cheerful trainer was in a more disheveled and paniced state than usual. "OHMYGODI'MSORRYYOUTWO!" She apologized, smacking Albireo on the head lightly. "The natu transported us on a berry bush...and Albireo's crazy about berries, so we got delayed."
Albireo let out a whining pout, sticking out his tongue and tilting his head curiously. What did he do wrong?
Eventually, after a quick word with the judge, the race was allowed to resume but at a late schedu-
"HOLY CRAP ALBIREO WAIT!"
Apparently, the dewgong had taken off the moment the start had been given, spotting a single pecha berry on the other side of the finishline. And Albireo liked his food.
"Fine fine 'bireo" Luna said, giving up on trying to control the dewgong and settling for just clinging tightly to him. She noticed the grass slowed the dewgong down considerably and from this developed a great idea.
"Icy wind!"
"Dew!"
Albireo inhaled deeply and then exhaled quickly to let out turbulant winter winds that froze the grass, the other sled, and Luna.
"A-aaaaa-achoooo..."

"Heheh... understandable... You know, my Glace likes berri-HEY!" While Sunnie was replying, Albireo had sped off into the distance. "Ahhh! Come on Paix, gooo!"
With her desperate cry, Paix spread his mighty wings and soared up into the air. The two trainers clung onto his feathers for dear life as he rose up into the air.
"Woah woah woah, what's that?!" Sunnie called out at seeing frozen chunks of grass and ground blowing in her direction. It hit the three with tremendous force, causing the trio to cry out from the shock of the freezing weather.
"Agghghhhh!! Come on, Paix-dude... let's fly right through this!" Sunnie commanded.

Luna mentally cheered as she noticed the effects of the icy wind creep into their opponents. Of course, she did feel slightly bad for delaying the race. Just slightly. But Luna was someone who believed a battle - or a race - should be fought to its fullest. There was no holding back.
"Albireo! Full speed ahead."

Kris gritted her teeth as she took the reins from Sunnie, who seemed to be freezing up. "Paix, you know what to do, right? Use Ancient power to boost your speed, buddy!"
Paix let out a crow, trying to summon up that power deep inside him. It came up with a burst, and Paix felt his velocity increase, along with the rocks rising around him.
He gripped onto one, shooting forward.

Luna noticed the shadows of rocks looming ahead of him and guessed the use of an ancient power effect. Of course, she couldn't exactly calculate because she was too busy clinging to the bouncing dewgong. "Looks like their gaining on us Albireo! Hey, face up and use ice beam!"
Albireo took one more big leap before turning his head up at the Ho-Oh with an excited bark. A white light formed into his mouth, turning into a full fledged beam that reached towards Paix with it's icy fingers after a few minutes of forming.

"Alright, Paix!" Sunnie shouted with glee. "Let's just keep on goi... huhh?"
Completely caught off-guard, Sunnie noticed the streaming beam of ice heading for her when it was too late. It collided with Paix, who cried out with pain as he pummelled to the ground.
"AAAAAAAAHHHH!!"
CRASH!
"..unnh... Kris, are you okay? ...Kris?" Turning to her back, she saw her friend encased in a block of ice. "...AHHHH, KRIS!! KRIIIIS!!" Sunnie tried desperately to get up, however her legs were frozen on Paix, causing her to become immobile.
"Wow... both of you are frozen solid, huh..." she said to no one. Helpless, she watched Luna and Albireo speed off into the distance. "Damn... what a bummer."

Albireo thumped his tail against the frozen grass a few times before bouncing off fullspeed again. Needless to say, the dewgong was very excited about his move working. That means he could get to the delicious berry before the large bird ate it!
"Sorry again!" Luna called out to the other team, clinging harder to keep up with Albireo's renewed vigor.
