Lucretia floated along pushing a shopping cart, though she was only there to buy eggs and milk. She was just going up and down all the aisles one at a time, just to be sure there was nothing else that they needed at home that she could think of.
Xiao Huo had joined his Chaos to help with shopping, and sat in the cart along with the eggs and milk as Lucretia wheeled him around. The grocery store had been quite an interesting adventure so far, but the young Porcelain was now not entirely sure how he was going to get out of the cart basket when they had to leave. Lucretia had given him a hand when he had climbed in, but her skin was extremely cold and he was not sure he would be able to stand having her touch him again.
He stood up as the cart rounded the corner into an aisle full of brightly colored packages. This, he knew by instinct, was candy. He projected excited thoughts to his Chaos, telling her to stop for a moment so he examine the selection. What wonders of sweets did Gaia hold?
Lucretia laughed a little and stopped the cart. "Daddy gave me enough money that I guess we can get one thing of candy, but you have to share with your brothers and stuff."

Mengde trotted up and down the grocery store's unnaturally clean aisles, the young Porcelain nearly skipping with joy. Tall Mister Vickon had given him some coins not an hour past, with instructions to go out and use it. Judging from the annoyed manner in which he had been acting earlier, Mengde half-suspected that maybe "helping" him wasn't the best course of actions.. but it had been so much fun! Maybe tall Mister Vickon was rewarding him for being such a big help! He didn't spill too much of that funny glowing liquid, after all...
Regardless, he had coins. Coins, he had learned, got him things most times. Like candy! Oh, and he was going to buy candy today. Maybe he had enough for a whole BIG bag! Dare he even imagine... two big bags?
Now, if he could only find where the store kept the candy...
It didn't take him long. After all, it took up the better part of an aisle, and when one scoured the aisles, they got to it sooner or later. Mengde's face lit up in delight as he recognized the colorful bags. Yesssssss!
Oh, but there was people here already. One was a little boy that looked sorta-kinda like him, but Mengde paid him little attention. Instead he focused on the blue half-person. She was very confusing-looking. Where were her legs? Why was she part-ribbon? What was that glowy thing at the top of the ribbon? Could he touch it? The candy temporarily forgotten, Mengde stared curiously at the strange lady, with absolutely no regard to any sort of manners. She was weird.

Lucretia was used to being stared at, but the little emotional projections that went along with Porcelain staring were still new and somewhat confusing to her. Xiao Huo was clearly not paying attention to her at the moment, so there must be another one of the strangely quiet beings somewhere nearby....
The Raevan turned and glanced around, and then noticed the other boy standing a little ways down the aisle. Lucretia studied him for a moment, then smiled and waved to him a little.
"Hello there?"
The other Porcelain also noticed the newcomer, and walked over to the other end of the cart - carefully avoiding the eggs - to lean around Lucretia a little and see who was there.
He pointed emphatically at the young stranger. He had an awesome hat! =O

Mengde approached the funny ribbon person, seemingly intrigued by her greeting. Maybe. He'd have probably approached anyways. Why did ribbon-lady look funny? He must know!
Oh, and hi miss ribbon-lady. Mengde waved distractedly at Lucretia, pondering her ribbon-ness with all the intensity a child his age could muster.
Xiao Huo's little outburst, however, managed to tear Mengde's attentions away. What? Hat? Oh! His hat. Of course. Why didn't little-person have a hat too? Or did he never get one? And why was he in the cage-basket like that? Had he been bad?
Mengde was certainly full of questions today. Perhaps he'd been kept indoors for too long.

"I don't think I look funny," Lucretia told the other young Porcelain. "Maybe you look funny. With your feet and all." She laughed a little, then moved aside so Xiao Huo could see the other boy better.
Xiao Huo lacked a hat because no one had ever given him one. He gives off a brief feeling of jealousy, but gets over it. He is an adventurer so he probably would need a different kind of hat anyway.
And he had not been bad. He just wanted to ride in the cart. Nice view from up inside, like being a tall person!
