To anyone who loves Elizabethan dress and history check out Philippa Gregory. She brings history to life.
Have you seen "The Other Boleyn Girl"? Totally her book turned movie. The book is way better and the imagery sets off the court intrigue in a way that no other writer today can come close to.

I love historical fiction and Gregory is such a good writer.
I haven't seen or read "The Other Boleyn Girl" but I loved "The Boleyn Inheritance." She describes her characters so powerfully I started to hate Kitty!

Oh, how I love Philippa Gregory and the Tudor era in general! I've read all of the books in that series, aside from her latest one... I can't recall the name offhand. My favourite of her books was probably The Queen's Fool, but also the Boleyn Inheritance, because I'm so intrigued by Anne of Cleves.
As for the movie... I was quite disappointed. The world was recreated well enough, but that, shall we say, incident between Anne and Henry was just the last straw really. Many of the costumes seemed uninspired as well. So, I don't know... my hopes were dashed on that front.
