Majivu let a yawn roll of his lips as he settled beneath a tree resting his head on his paws. He had been traveling for quite a while and was enjoying the small breaks in between. It was nice not having to worry about pridal things. They could all wait until he came home.

Home.

He wondered how his family was faring without him. Surely no different he hadn’t been putting forth a ton of effort back there. Things would be different. He was sure of it.
Then he saw her. Squinting he caught sight of her dark pelt marked with a pretty cyan color.

“Hello!”

Jipima was startled to hear the voice of another so soon into her travels. Not that she really minded, she was growing rather lonely.

“Hello!”

She replied quicken her pace when she saw him shift and stand to meet her half-way. “You look tired.” She stated when she came upon him. Perhaps he was doing just what she was. Fresh out into the real world looking for something. “Have you been traveling long sir?”

Majivu chuckled he was used to the title, well sorta, and to find an outside call him that was simply amusing. “I suppose so.” He replied smiling rather brightly at the girl. “Call me Majivu, no need to be formal.”

“Majivu.” She repeated purring his name rather happily. It was a good name. A princely name. “I am Jipima.” She replied batting her eyelashes prettily. Maybe he’d be her prince! It’d be a miracle to find him so soon in her journey. The first one she met!

“That’s a very pretty name Jipima.” He replied sinking to sit. “What brings you out here?”

“Why thank you!” She replied a small blush flickering across her dark features. “I’m doing a bit of traveling.” She told him smiling the pretty smile of hers. “I’m looking for my prince.” She declared before clamping her paws over her maw. Why had she just said that? She just ruined everything!

Majivu wasn’t bothered by her sudden outburst. Instead it simply made him chuckle. “Prince eh? Were you considering me for the role?”

“Actually…” She trailed off casting her gaze to the ground embarrassed. “Yes.”

He reached a paw over and lightly patted her shoulder. “So what do you think so far?”

“Well you’re definitely good natured, nice, friendly…and you have a good sense of humor.” She told him unsure of why she was spilling her soul to him. Perhaps it was because she knew, as soon as she told him, that he wasn’t the one. Still she did like him. He was rather nice. If she didn’t find her prince maybe he could be the substitute.

“Thanks.” He replied still grinning before he frowned, just the slightest bit.

“But you can’t be him can you?” She asked before he even had the chance to say anything to her.

Slowly he shook his head and she frowned. “I’m sorry.” He replied looking to the ground himself. He would have liked to, if she had wanted him to but he couldn’t. It was that simple. He was already spoken for. His mother had chosen one mate and his heart another.

“Why not?” She inquired not the least bit angry, instead she was simply curious. Had he already found his princess? His one and only? If that was the case she couldn’t be angry that wouldn’t be right. Not the least bit.

“I’m spoken for. In more ways than one.” He admitted.

“What’d you mean?” She asked curiosity getting the better of her.

“My mother chose my mate. And my heart chose the girl that I really love.” He told her blushing as he too spilled his heart and soul to a stranger.

“I hope things go well for you Majivu.” She told him lightly nudging him with her nose. “I’m glad I got to talk with you. But I should probably be on my way. Can I call you my friend?”

“Of course, if I may do the same.”

“Of course.

“Good.”

With those words the pair parted both going separate directions looking for different things.
