What will they say about us? I laugh thinking at it.

If we were to lose (as in, the cause is sublimated over time), what will history say about us?

I'm reading a piece as we speak about female "degeneracy" in the 1900s and Victorian Era. basically, you could not make this sound neutral even if you wanted. It is talking about how people thought of women as "Feeble-minded" and how laws were enacted in 31 states in 1931 that allowed people to sterilize women if they were found to be a threat to society.

What could they say about Pro-life?

"A group of people opposed to abortion believing fetal life to be its unique, own person. Pro-life advocates that sanctity of life. Some advocated abortion as an innately anti-feminist action. Others advocated better preventative methods to insure that no accidental pregnancies occur to prevent abortion, entirely. "

It couldn't be bad. No, it couldn't be. I'd be quite angry at someone who even tried.

Thoughts?

It would turn into "A group of people who hated women and wanted to restrict their rights for no reason but distrust and hatred of females. They also beat puppies for a living."

Well, aside from the beating of puppies part, that seems likely, going by the past. But then again, history is a lot more definite, and remembered these days. I mean, a hundred years ago, they had history, but it wasn't as easily available to the masses, and it wasn't as easy to check on the history.

I mean, ten years down the road, it'll still be possible to look up magazine articles from this year. I like to think it'll be the same a hundred years from now. I don't think the Pro-Life movement will ever die; Probably not the Pro-Choice side either. But assuming one did, I don't think that it would happen like that. I think people would know the truth about it, for the most part; The Pro-Life side would probably be stereotyped even further as being a well meaning but wrong religious movement. I don't think it would be stereotyped as evil.

Or we'll be remembered as a naive movement that doesn't apply to modern and fair society, or something like that.

We need to consider the possible changes that might occur during our lifetimes. Hopefully, in a few short decades, pro-choice won't be a bad thing, because artificial wombs may exist. The two groups as they now exist may change or fade away. There are already some choicers against the ideal of artificial wombs, but they probably won't be considered pro choice anymore.

That's true, with the invention of artificial wombs the argument could be mostly history.

It would be a win by technicality. The fetus would be viable, as viable is roughly defined as "able to survive outside of the mother", and it would be able to survive in an artificial womb. Viability makes it illegal to abort a fetus. Legal loophole for the win. King me.

"In the twentieth and twenty-first century, a group of Anti-Abortionists rose up, demanding the restriction of women's rights and calling for the overturning of constitutional ruling Roe v. Wade."

This, I believe, is how it would look in a history textbook written by a radical pro-abortion liberal. (I would not be surprised at all, by the way, if they DID say that we kick puppies for fun... and sniff Sharpie markers in our free time... and eat our children.)

Sadly I wouldn't be surprised either if someone did say that. Some already said we are pro-punishment and hate women (trying to make us look bad).

The ironic thing here is a lot of us here are women (so does that mean I hate myself? Because I never understood that).

Don't you absolutely love the irony that women rebelling against being put into a mold and expected to be a certain way...put other women into a mold and expect them to be a certain way?

I just find it strange and the arguments even stranger if not weak at times. I don't think people get why people get upset about abortions and often seems like it's more about themselves (forget the guy and the unborn, they have no say-it's only about the woman even though the the the man and the fetus [it's life] is involved as well).

Tjix-what did you say to them? I would love to hear a great comeback or argument for when they call us anti-woman (especially when said to a woman).
