The girl woke up, scared and afraid. She had no idea of were she was and couldn't remember anything other than a slight memory of intence pain. She picked herself up looking around her and realized she was in a park. It was dark out and no one was around everything looked strangly familiar to her. "AAAAAAAH!" She cried in pain as a viollent stream of memory flooded through her head.

The girl saw herself walking through the park, she was happy and on her way to meet... her sister, Shay. She was taking a short cut through the park, she someone was suddenly infront of her... her boyfriend, David. She smiled come closer to him, but it wasn't him the man changed his appearance with a laugh and she ran but then he was right infront of her. He grabbed her roughly by the hair telling her she was a pretty one and that he would enjoy her blood very much. As she kicked and screamed he brought his mouth to her neck and bit down hard, bringing an even louder scream from her, and began to suck the blood from her veins. She was loosing so much blood and growing faint... so much pain... and then she heard an angry vioce telling the man to release her, that she wasn't to be touched. Then she was on the ground with man standing over her, it was David. He looked down at her with an expresion of pain on his face, and then she realized that he was covered in blood and there was a body behind him, the body of the man that had attacked her. Slowly David came closer, looking bewitched, and he brought his lips to her neck at the spot where her blood was pouring out onto the ground and began to drink. She thrashed the physical pain now only a pin p***k compaired to the pain of being killed slowly and steadily by the man she loved. One word escaped her lips... why... and David drew away from her. He looked down at her with her horror in his eyes and he fled leaving her there on the ground surrounded by unimaginable pain, both mentallly and physically. The memory shifted pulling her back further into her past... Triss... she heard the name over and over... it was hers. Triss saw flashes of past rocketing around pulling her down driving her insane coming faster and faster, there was so much... too much... she couldn't register it all... she didn't want to remember... it was too hard, too painful "NO!!!!!!!" Triss screamed and finally was released from her mind. Gasping on the ground Triss cried, remember only her name and that one horrible memory from the violent flash of her life.

After what felt like hours of crieing Triss had no more tears left to shed and finally picked herself off the ground. The memory circling around in her head had become too much to handle and Triss fled from the park, the source of the familiarity which was haunting her. The world flew around Triss and for days she didn't stop running letting her fear and lonelyness take hold of her until she felt she couldn't stop running if she wanted to. The weight of the horrible memory consumed her finally making even running too much for her to handle and she fell to the ground infront of a sign welcoming her to Milford Pennsylvania.

The town was one of those small towns you see on tv, the kind were it is so small that everyine knows what is going on with everyone else. It was early in the morning and only one person was up, a woman looking to be in her seventies, so only she saw the young teenage girl crieing infront of the town that morning. Seeing how distraught the girl looked the kind woman went out to see what was wrong. "Excuse me dear, are you ok?" Triss heard some one call and looked up to see the kind woman coming toward her. "Um... I... I... I really don't know." Triss said, tears still streaming down her face. "Where are your parents, they must be really worried about you." The woman said looking around to see if the parents of this sad young girl were anywere around and not seeing anyone. "I don't know were they are, and I don't need to. Please leave me alone." Triss replied. "No I can't leave a, what sixteen, year old girl alone in the world, come with me. Oh, and by the way my name is Rose." and with that Rose helped Triss to her feet and walked brought her to her home.

"Now dear, what is your name?" Rose said with a smile. They were in the woman's home and as she looked around Triss saw that it was small and full of light. "I'm Triss" she replied. Glancing around the room seeing the light yellow walls, the sliding glass door leading out to the deck, the beige sofa with its forest green acrent pillows, the flat screen tv mounted on the wall across from with the unit beneath it full of dvds, and the wooden coffee table in the center of the room. All around the room were family pictures and there were two small glass cabinets on either side of the sofa with ceramic figurines inside of it. "Well Triss, if you don't mind me asking, what brings you here all by yourself?" Rose inquired looking at Triss with concern. "I'd rather not talk about it, if that's ok. I don't want to bother you, so I'll be going now." Triss replied getting up from the couch but was pulled back down by Rose "No, you're not going anywere. I don't mind if you won't tell me what happened to you, but I'm not going to let you wander around in the world all by yourself. If you have no family to stay with, then you can stay here with me. From what I see you won't be going with your family, so lets start getting you settled in." Rose said with a tone that said that there would be no argueing with her. "Ok, but I don't have anything but what I'm waring." Triss said gesturing to the worn jeans, red top, and jean hat that she was waring. "Don't worry about that we'll get you somemore clothing, but for now why don't you get cleaned up and I'll get you something to eat." Rose pointed toward the bathroom then turned around toward the kitchen. Deciding not to cross this starnge woman Triss went to the bathroom and looked at herself in the mirror. "Wow, I look horrible." Triss said, seeing her bloodshot eyes, tangled hair, and tear stained cheeks. She immediatly got to work washing off her face, doing the best she could do with just soap and water to fix days of running and crying. When she felt that she couldn't do anymore Triss left the bathroom and headed out to the kitchen, were she smelled the most delicouse fragrence that she had ever smelled. "What is that?" Triss asked rushing over to the kitchen suddenly feeling starved. "So my hunch was right." Rose said turning around, holding a glass containing a dark red liquid. "You are a vampire. I thought so, you were too beautiful and my instict to come near as well as my fear of going anywere near you hinted me that you were one of them." she continued handing the glass to The eagerly awaiting Triss, who snatched the cup and drank the liquid down greedily. "Is there more?" Triss asked feeling alive for the first time since she woke up. "You are very hungery, good thing I still keep blood packs around." Rose turned and walked to a hided cabinet in the floor which held a small fridge filled with packets of blood.

Triss looked at Rose then, confusion making her able to fight her hunger enough to ask the questions which where swirling in her mind. "So, that's what I am...a vampire? You just gave me a glass of blood, of human blood from a secret refridgerator in your kitchen and..." Triss paused eyeing the blood packets. "And you have no problems with this?" Triss finished, going with the easiest of her questions to answer.
"Well yes." Rose said grabbing two packets Triss. "See I happen to be on, weel you could say a waiting list to be what you are, but I have a feeling that I just moved to the top of the list."
"I don't follow what it is exactly that you're saying." Triss had already gulped down the first packet and was starting on the second.
"You wouldn't, obviosly you have just been changed, you are still very unaware of what you are from I can tell." Rose gave Triss a long look and then continued in a condescending tone. "Since you are so young I'll try to go slowly for you. I am an old woman, I have lived a nice long life and have hated very minute of it. My life has been boring and completely insignificant, and now I want to stop being plain and old and vulnerable. Would you like to hear the story?" Rose asked abruptly snapping out of the rude tone and goign back to the sweet caring voice she had used earlier.
Triss looked at her quizzicaly, shocked by the sudden change Rose had made, not sure weither she could trust this odd woman, then nodded her head and sat back to listen.

Triss was greatly shocked by Rose's story of love with a man who one day was found to be a vampire. Upon learning this Rose had begged him to turn her too so they could be together forever and he agreed, but later he started to think that Rose only wanted to live forever and not to be with him. After years of getting ready to be with her love forever Rose had been left by him and now she had loads of blood and no reason to use it.
Finishing her story Rose turned to Triss and said in a cold voice, "The thing is he was right, I didn't want him as much as I wanted to live forever. I hadn't really loved him that much, I had always been rather greedy but what can I say, I loved to make myself happy? Too bad he left though it may be your good fortune. I am willing to let you live here with me. I have a feeling you are more tame than most new vampires since you have been able to controll yourself for so long. it is truely amazing..."
