The clock has striked midnight on New Years at last. You try to open the heavy wooden door to the workshop but to no avail. You then notice that nailed to the door is a scrap of polka dotted fabric with semi-ledgible chicken scratch written all over with a red fabric marker. Upon closer inspection it reads: "Happy holidays to everyone and good luck in the SS Raffle. We will be open next year since the workshop was so popular. A big thanks to all my happy elves for bringing holiday cheer to their loved ones. All my luff, SiSi Santa heart
Welcome to my workshop where you can be one of my elves to help bring cheer to someone you love this holiday season. heart
I've provided templates so you can color your own plushies and give them as gifts to your friends. You can color up to five plushies that you can post in the PLUSHIE SS THREAD that become a ticket for an amazing Christmas raffle. This is a free event but you can only color 5 max!!
There is even a contest for the best plushie colored and a prize given so work hard on them!
Use this thread to show off plushies you colored and for questions. All plushies being entered in the raffle as tickets need to be posted in the PLUSHIE SS THREAD. The form for posting plushies and the tags are located in that thread.
HAVE FUN AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!
ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE POST IN THIS THREAD!!
exclaim The workshop closes when the clock strikes midnight CST on New Years Eve.
Thanks to Paperghost and Lizzymoo for letting us use their Elderspark SS Color Your Own Plush idea.

RULES and GUIDELINES 1. You may only color 5 maximum for yourself or friends 2. No mules! (Under 1k posts or been a member for 1 month = automatic mule suspect) 3. Color these plushies yourself. I've provided ways for everyone to color them. MS PAINT anyone? Do not ask anyone to color for you. 4. You may not sell or buy these plushies. 5. Please fill out a form for each plushie you color and post each plushie in a separate post in the PLUSHIE SS THREAD 6. Each plushie post will be a ticket in a special Christmas raffle. The more plushie tickets there are, the more prizes. Prizes will be Soquili shop pets, gold, items or letters. codeword: jingle 7. Do not steal someone else's plushie design. As a rule of thumb, those who posted before you have dibs on the plushie. 8. NO COSPLAYED PLUSHIES ALLOWED. They all must be original designs. That goes for plushies cosplayed off existing soquilis. ORIGINAL PPL!! 9, All plushie designs must be PG13. 10. Don't just make five rushed plushies. Take your time on them! 11. You can edit these plushies as much as you want. 12. All plushies must be 100% colored by you. You can use brushes but don't go overboard. 13. You must deliver the plushies you made yourself.

DIRECTIONS exclaim For programs that can open .psd files: click for the plushie .psd TO USE: The layers are in groups like the real soquili template. A unicorn horn and tail as well as wings are provided. The layers are locked for easy coloring. Color on the "color" layer. You can color on the shading layer too.
A plushie in the template is already precolored so you can see how the coloring layers work. Do not simply post this already made plushie because it belongs to someone already.
I've provided a tag for you to tag the pet when finished. Just make sure the pet's background layer is turned off so the pet has no background.
When finished, remove the background by clicking the eye on that layer. Save the file as a .png image. Upload to your own server like photobucket.com and post them in the PLUSHIE SS THREAD ---------------------------------------------------------------------- exclaim If you hate too many layers: click for the plushie shaded png TO USE: Open in the paint program of your choice. There is no background because it is a .png. You can use this in a layers program like photoshop if you are clueless about layers.
Set the pet's layer to "Multiply" by selecting that option in the Layer's drop down features. It should say "Normal" with a v that is in a box next to it. Scroll down until you reach "Multiply". Create a new layer below the pet's layer. Then select the layer that you made underneath the pet to begin coloring. Try to stay inside the lines!
You can write the TO: and FROM: above the pet in text OR use the tag I've made for you if you can stand another layer. The pet needs to be a backgroundless image for the tag.
To make a pet backgroundless, use the magic wand tool. It looks like a black stick with a sparkle on it. Click the white space once all layers are merged together. Then hit the delete button. Make sure that the layer is not locked or it won't work.
When finished, save the pet as a .jpg and upload to your own server like photobucket. Post it in the PLUSHIE SS THREAD ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- exclaim For MS Paint or to print out and color your plushie then use this: click for the shadeless .jpg plushie TO USE: Open up in MS Paint and color how you want. Try not to color on the lines so they show through. Maybe use the paint bucket tool. After you have colored the pet then use the TEXT to write TO: and FROM:.
You can't use the tag I made because MS PAINT doesn't support layers sadly. Save the plushie to a server like photobucket.com and Post the plushies in the PLUSHIE SS THREAD

FAQ
How many plushies can I color? -5 max
Can I ask someone to color a plushie for me? -NO. You must color all plushies yourself. These are gifts made by you.
I don't have MS Paint or any paint program! What do I do? I still want to make plushies. -You can PRINT OUT the .jpg version plushie (3rd plushie link given) and then color it with pens, paints, etc. Scan or take a digital photo of the picture. Make sure to save it as a small sig friendly size under 500 x 500. You can do this in photobucket using the edit image features once you create a free account.
I don't have MS Paint, any paint program, a scanner or a digi cam! What do I do? -In this case you can write up to 5 Christmas poems or carols for a friend and post them in the SS PLUSHIE thread in the place of plushies. You must deliver the poems or carols to your friends. You can write the five poems or carols for yourself too if you must.
I don't have MS Paint, any paint program, a scanner, digi cam, can't write poems or carols too!! - xp Anyone can write carols or poems! C'mon!!!!
I have less than 1k posts and/or joined less than a month ago! I AM NOT A MULE!! *arms flail* -You can only participate if you can find someone to vouch for you that is a bit more established in the forum. Have them post in this thread about you. If you end up being a mule of that person then there will be blacklisting if we catch you.
AHHH OMG! The magic wand tool won't work!! Whatever will I do?! Christmas is RUINED!! -No need to fear! Use the magic eraser tool then. Click on the eraser and there is a little black arrow at the top right hand corner of the box. That leads into a drop down box where the magic eraser tool can be found.
I can't cert in MS PAINT!! -Don't bother trying to cert in paint. It looks bad no matter what. I can't even get it to work right. Just write "TO: your friend FROM: RULER" in text off to the side of the pet. Maybe use festive font or red/greens.
When does this end? -It ends January 1st, when the shop xmas event ends. Sorry! I should put that down. :3
CAN HAS PLUSHIE OF EXISTING SOQUILI?! PLZ -No a winning plushie might be colored into a real soquili if the colorist wishes. We don't want two soquilis that look exactly alike if that happens.
CAN HAS PLUSHIE OF PET FROM OTHER SHOP?! PLZ -You can color a pet design from another shop as long as that design is 100% yours
And does the no cosplay rule apply for just copyrighted characters, or OC's as well?
@Shadow~OCs are ok because they are original designs by you!
When I try to color the color to the back wing, it doesn't keep in the neat, established lines like it does for the mane/tail, front wing, body etc. Is anyone else having this trouble/what can I do about this? Sorry if I sound stupid, but how do you lock the transparency?
@Sil~Unlock or lock the layer's transparency by clicking the grey and white checkered box. It might be a coloring mistake in the template but it can be easily corrected. Just erase parts outside the lines with a paint brush so unlock the transparency. When all paint is cleaned up then click the grey and white checkered box again to lock.
Sirenz, is it possible for you to post a mane-less, tail-less (and accessory-less) version of the Unshaded Plushie? I don't have any art programs, and...I really wouldn't want to see me try MS Paint, so I figure I'll print them out and try my luck with drawing and colouring by hand. Naturally, this means That attempting to draw over the existing lineart would be harder... x-x
Unless you recommend I simply trace my own from the lines and work it like that?
@Arashi~
Do I need people to vouch for me if I do this?
Or is it if you don't have many posts and a recent join date? @Kyuketsuki~Only if your account is a suspect mule which means you have less than 1k posts or joined less than 1 month ago.
I just want to say thank you so much for running this event. It has been great fun coloring plushies for my friends. I know you borrowed the idea from someone else, but I really enjoy partisipating in CYO events. I hope we can do it again next year. @Foalen~Aww thanks hon!! I thought we should try something new this year so glad (most?) people like it!!
One question on this:
Prizes will be Soquili shop pets, gold, items or letters. codeword: jingle
Does this mean horses or familiars 'pets'...? @Presca~BOTH!!
I'm having a blast editing and coloring these. I've got a couple done so far. But the problem is I only know one person who is into Soquili. I was wondering if I could gift all 5 to her or is it limit 1 per person? @MooCowing~Yes that's ok! Everyone can color 5 to give as gifts or keep all to themselves

If we are unable to separate groups in Photoshop, are we allowed to draw a mane and tail on the plushie? Nevermind! I'm blind!
