The weather might have been a bit nippy, but a red-headed girl acted like there was nothing to the weather. She wore hardly anything on her upper body, yet the weather didn't seem to affect her as she strolled along with her Growlithe. She tossed a ball up and down in her hand and glanced towards her Pokemon. Dakota was watching her trainer, or rather, what was in her trainer's hand, as she pranced along at her side. That ball looked like LOTS of fun to chase after. The little nub on her rear waggled around excitedly at the thought. Phoebe had been working hard lately to get her new place renovated and ready for customers. She was a good worker, but everyone needed a break from cleaning and construction. Fortunately, the park was close enough for her to walk to for a short break. The breeder noted that the grass was still quite green, despite the time of year. Once she and her Pokemon had arrived to the middle of the park, she tossed up the ball in her hand and called out "Ya ready t'get the ball girl?" The Growlithe jumped from side to side, her little nub still wriggling around, as if she was saying "Yes, hurry, hurry up!" "Alright, go get the ball, Dakota!" The ball flew in the air across the field, with a Growlithe chasing right behind it. Hopefully the ball didn't collide with any other trainers...

Renekai was strolling around with a pokeball in her hand. She had gone to the park to play with Anima, her most fun-loving pokemon as of yet, but was wondering if she should reconsider. There were lots of other pokemon there, and Anima might get carried away when talking to them... Should she take out a different pokemon?
Dreydonna would probably blow up the park in one of her tricks or something... Bell would just sit around and glare. Chaos probably had never played a game in his life, and would probably sit around or start a fight. No, Anima would have to be her choice, or not take out any pokemon at all. Perhaps she should just go back...
"Ouch!" At that moment, a ball hit Renekai in the back of the head, making her drop the pokeball.
Anima popped out and ran in circles, tail wagging. When she spotted the ball, she immediately grabbed it in her teeth before resuming her run. "Fur! Furretfur!" she squeaked past the rubber object. She never seemed to run out of energy.

So fixated on the ball, the Growlithe ran and ran and ran until she followed the same path of the ball: she collided with the new trainer at full force. The fire-type yelped out at the collision. The puppy shook her head a bit, then looked up.
OH IT WAS A NEW PERSON PERSON!!
Recovering rather quickly, the puppy Pokemon jumped up slightly so she was standing on her hind legs with her forelegs pressed up against the trainer's legs. Her nub was wriggling behind her, and she curled her lips a bit to show her teeth. It looked like the Growlithe was growling, but no angry noises came out. It was Dakota's way of showing she was happy, but usually it got misread by people who didn't know the Pokemon very well.
Phoebe, who had watched the whole thing, chuckled out loud before she began to jog over in the direction of the action. She called out in a friendly manner "Sorry about that, didn't think the ball was going to go that far!" She wasn't about to call her Pokemon down yet, since such cries would go ignored if Phoebe was so far away.

"Whoa!" Renekai said, startled as she was hit by a pokemon. Oh, look! A growlithe! But it's tail was gone. "Well, hello there!" Renekai said, grinning. She had researched all sorts of pokemon, so she understood that Dakota was being friendly. She patted the multi-colored growlithe on the head, then looked up as she heard the trainer coming.
"Oh, it's no problem. I think that Anima here has your ball..." As she said this, she glanced at Anima, who had stopped running around to watch Dakota.
"Fur!" Anima barked, dropping the ball. She crouched in a playful puppy stance, with her head down and butt in the air. Her long tail waved through the air and her teeth were bared into a smile. Although Anima was rather large to be a puppy, she still had the heart of one.

Slowing a bit so she didn't have the same problem as her Pokemon, Phoebe apologized once more. "Sorry, she gets excited really easy! Dakota, you sit your butt down." As she gave the command, she lifted up her hand so the back of her hand was facing the puppy while her fingers were pinched together.
The Growlithe, who hadn't said anything yet, did as requested quite obediently, though her whole rear end was now wiggling in place as she sat. Her teeth disappeared as her lips came down to relax, but then she'd smile again for a bit.
"Oh, look at that silly smile!" the breeder chuckled as she patted her Pokemon on the head. Giving a large grin of her own, she held out her hand for a firm handshake: "Name's Phoebe! It's nice to meetcha and yer Anima!"
The redhead glanced back at the Growlithe, then raised her hands and said an enthusiastic "OK!" The puppy Pokemon immediately got up and edged curiously closer to the Furret, her nose sniffing in the normal-type's direction. Despite being so excitable, she was rather quiet.

Renekai readily shook Pheobe's hand. "I'm Renekai. We're quite glad to meet you, too! That's quite a beautiful Growlithe you have. Dakota is her name, right?" Renekai smiled.
Anima barked again and sniffed towards Dakota. The ball that she dropped was accidentally hit as she extended a paw, so it rolled towards Dakota. Spotting the ball, Anima's tail started wagging again and she was almost jumping with excitement. She cocked her head to one side as if asking Dakota if she wanted to play.
"Dakota isn't the only one who is easily excited..." Renekai said, watching Anima. "My furret has an endless supply of energy; I don't know where she gets it."

Dakota actually had missed the cue the Furret gave her. In fact, only one thing really caught her attention. The ball bounced in front of her and settled in a pile of grass, and that was all she needed. The puppy pounced onto the ball and nibbled on it with her sharp teeth. It was only after a little bit of chewing did she notice the Furret looking at her.
Letting go of the ball and panting a little bit, she stood up and ran off a little bit ahead. She paused and hopped back and forth, as if to encourage the other Pokemon to come along with her. Playing with a ball was only good if a human was throwing the toy so you could catch it. Running around was good at all times, no matter how many Pokemon were doing it.
Phoebe beamed for a little bit at the compliment towards her Pokemon. "Thanks, though I can't take any credit in that. Ma and Pa were th'ones who bred her to look so nice. They had a Canine Farm back in Hoenn." A slight pause, then a cheerful "It's always nice t'have a Pokemon that is so full of energy. Keeps ya on yer toes that way!" A lot of Puppy Pokemon tended to be very energetic, so she was well adjusted to it.
For a moment, the breeder glanced to the pond. Venus would probably be wanting to go for a swim. Returning her gaze to Renekai, she then made a friendly suggestion: "Hey... wanna walk with me fer a bit? I've got another Pokemon that I need t'get out fer some exercise."

"Sure," said Renekai, following Pheobe. The thought that the trainer was letting two pokemon have exercise made her feel a little guilty at only taking one out, but probably four pokemon at once would be chaotic. Besides, they were out of their pokeballs all day when they were at Renekai's house.
Anima barked, then chased Dakota. Running was fun! Long tail streaming, Anima weaved her way across the grass. The way she ran was low to the ground, good for squeezing into tight places. Indeed, a Furret building a nest makes it so no other pokemon can get in (besides perhaps a caterpie) because it is so narrow. Anima crouched in the grass for a moment, then sprung at Dakota, nipping playfully.

Plucking up her other Pokeball from her pocket, she tossed it up in the air and caught it. As she walked towards the pond, she continued to toss the Pokeball up and catch it in her hand. Attempting to strike up some friendly conversation, she asked "So how long ya been out 'ere? I only got out 'ere about a week ago from Hoenn." The pond itself wasn't too far off, only about 20 feet away, so when they were got close enough, Phoebe tossed the Pokeball out rather than up.
"Venus, come on out for a swim!"
After a burst of energy, the water in the pond splashed and rippled a bit as a new Pokemon was added to it. In the water, a relatively drab fish Pokemon had appeared and looked up at the trainer. Though the Feebas was rather plain to look at, the coloration was rather unique.
"Feebas?" the Pokemon asked as she looked up to the other new trainer.
Dakota yipped out a slight "Growl!" as she was nipped a bit, but then attempted to pounce onto the Furret with a playful n** to Anima's tail. However, she paused and looked up in a rather alert manner. Her ears were perked up and her brown eyes looked towards the pond. There was a FISHY out now!!!

"I've been catching pokemon for about a year now," Renekai said, trying to hide her pride. She didn't mean to brag, but she liked to think of herself as an accomplished trainer. She still had quite a ways to go, but she was getting there! "Wow, a fish pokemon!" Renekai said, examining the Feebas. "Shiny recessive, right? That's really unique!" Renekai said, noting the purple splotches. "I'm surprised that she hasn't evolved into a Milotic yet," she continued, not knowing that Venus had decided not to evolve.
Anima had been ready to rough house, but she stopped when Dakota got distracted. She raised her head, ears turned forward, and then spotted what had caught Dakota's attention: a fish. Anima wasn't too interested, since you couldn't chase a fish without getting yelled at, so she attempted to engage Dakota once more by pushing her hard in the side.

It would seem the words the secondary trainer offered offended the Feebas, for with a sharp "Feebas BASS!", the Pokemon swam in another direction.
Phoebe chuckled a bit. "Why would she do that if she's content with being a Feebas? She's gorgeous the way she is!" It almost seemed like the breeder's water blue eyes were sparkling as she said the words. She was proud of her beautiful Pokemon. "When I caught her back home, her markings weren't so accentuated though. Then again, the weeds in that stream weren't exactly all that filled with nutrients. It took a couple years, but after keeping her on a good diet, her markings and coloration became more noticeable." Glancing over to her Growlithe, she knew what was coming.
"And now, time for some entertainment!"
Rather predictably, after Dakota has been shoved a little bit to one side, the puppy Pokemon ran towards the pond at full speed. Stopping at the edge of the water, she barked out "Growl! Growl growl!" Her nub was wiggling and she frantically ran from side to side. She barked a few more times, which caused the Feebas to swim in the other direction to avoid the annoying puppy. And so the game of herding the Fishy had begun!

"Oh, I'm sorry, Venus," Renekai said after hearing the story. She then looked curiously at Phoebe, wondering what she meant by entertainment. And then she knew.
"Is Dakota... herding Venus?" Renekai asked uncertainly. She had heard of growlithe herding mareep, but never a fish pokemon.
Anima's eyes grew wide. Chasing fish is okay? CHASE FISH! Anima sprinted towards the water, splashing it everywhere and trying to n** Venus.
"No, Anima!" Renekai yelled, getting soaking wet from the water. "You can't play that way with a Feebas! Be gentle!"

The red head nodded at the other girl. "Yup! Ma and Pa were plannin' on keepin' Dakota, so they docked her tail and were raising her to be a herdin' puppy. Pa probably would 'ave evolved her eventually, since Arcanines are his favorite! Either way, when I was headin' out 'ere, my parents decided that Dakota should come as well, since a Feebas might not be the best protection." Her eyes then resumed watching the three Pokemon.
Dakota stared at the other Pokemon for a moment. Being a fire-type, the Growlithe wouldn't have thought of going into the water. Plus, what fun would that have been? Either way, Anima was providing a decent amount of entertainment. With her little nub wagging, the Pokemon watched the excitement for a bit.
Phoebe chuckled at Dakota, then noted what the Furret thought of the activity. Figuring the Pokemon was the type who liked to play games, she shouted out as if she were telling the truth: "Thar are rules to this game, Anima. Breakin' the rules means y'sit on the side fer 5 minutes. One of the rules is y'can't go into the water." If worse came to worse, the breeder knew that the Feebas could handle herself fine.
Venus did not seem pleased that she now had an annoying Furret to deal with as well. And it was in the water, which was something she wasn't used to. However, being a swift swimmer, she managed to avoid having any of her gorgeous fins being nipped. She retorted rather simply to this idea of it all being a game: "Bass Fee!! Feebas!"

Anima sat up in the water, head tilted to one side. Rules? Rules were no fun! But she didn't want to have to sit out... Anima crawled out of the water and shook off, spraying her already-wet trainer. She stood on all fours and waved her tail hopefully. Could she still play?
Renekai smiled and patted Anima on the head. "Good girl!" she said. Turning to Pheobe, she said, "I'm sorry about that; Anima has a way of chasing things... Sometimes I wonder if she's more of a dog than a Furret! No offense to Dakota, of course." Renekai smiled at the Growlithe. "Dakota is very well behaved. Anima, you could learn a thing or two from her."
Anima was watching her trainer inently, but then looked at Dakota. Learn? Learning was boring. She wanted to chase the fish! Immediately, Anima turned to watch the water intently. How could she chase the fish without breaking the rules? Anima's head whipped around to stare at Pheobe. Would she explain the rules?

Approaching the Furret, Phoebe leaned over so her hands were on her thighs. In a kind voice, she explained "Since ya didn't know about the rules, I won't make ya sit out fer those 5 minutes!" Despite what the normal type wanted, the red-head didn't explain a single rule beyond that. Technically there were no rules, but if he wasn't allowed in the water, that should have fixed all of the problems, right?
Dakota's nub stopped wagging as she noticed things got boring again. Then out of the corner of her eye she spotted some faint amount of movement. With such a drastically long attention span, she refocused on the Feebas in the water.
IT WAS A FISHY! "Growl growl!" Resuming her job of herding, the black Growlithe ran around the edge of the pond to the side closest to where Venus was at.
Of course, the koi-Feebas did not appreciate this and swam to another spot closer to the middle.
Dakota barked out another "Growl!" and attempted to find a way to get the fishy to go the way she wanted. She ran along the one edge, hoping the movement would cause the fish Pokemon to move, but when the came across as fruitless, she started going in the opposite direction.
"Where's the Fishy, Dakota?" Phoebe asked with a smile before turning to Renekai. It was a simple game to watch, but it usually amused others.
