Sasurei began the day as he normally would by unlocking his front door and turning the closed board around to read open. The library wasn't neccessarily advertised, its existance was either discovered, or told about by word of mouth.

Sasurei returned to a desk in clear view of the door and began reading a few new books he purchased before he would place them on the shelves. They were mostly fiction books, and more in the adventure romace category. The language was rather simple, so he was reading it rather quickly. It would pass the time till he closed up for the night.

Khafra glided through the air, enjoying the wind in his feathers and the feeling of the sun on him, when he spotted a curious thing; a distinguished little building at the top of the cliff.

"That's interesting..." he mumbled to himself, angling his wings to the left so as to land near it.

He crept around the outside of it, cautious to go in, but then his curiosity got the better of him and he pushed aside the door to see who or what was inside.

Sasurei looked up from his book; "Hello there, welcome to skylight library, feel free to browse about, or if you have anything specfic in mind I can help you locate it." Sasurei marked his page and set the book down so as not to appear rude and unfocused to the new patron.

Iris crept around the building keeping low to the ground so as to not be seen. She looked back at a bush that was just a ways down the path and saw two heads pop out. "Jack! I'm going to kill you for this!!!" She thought as she began shaking and continued creeping along.

Eventually she found an area where no one could see her, and flew up to the top of the building. Iris quickly found her way in, "Skylights..." she whispered as she slowly crept over to one and peeked in. the section she was in was empty, so she poked her head in to take a look around.

The place was lit up by oil lanterns, and there were miles of shelves, but they were all empty... she dropped down inside and began the exploration of this creepy place.

Jack laughed hysterically as he thought of how scared Iris must be right now, "Ha! She must be terrified! Do you think she'll actually get a book?"

Echo frowned and mumbled, "Probably, she's pretty determined to be in our group, so i think she'll go through with it." He continued to look out the side of the bush for the first sign of her.

Jack snuck up behind him and chuckled, "Y'know... the only reason she want's to join is because she has a crush on you..."

Echo pushed him away and continued watching. He overheard Jack mutter something about him feeling the same for her, and he flicked Jack with his tail.

Jack jumped out from the shelter of the bush and yelped, but quickly shut his mouth and scurried to the safety of the bush. he looked at Echo and hissed, "What the hell Echo... Trying to get me in trouble?"

Iris looked up at the mural of two dragons and noticed two lone books on the shelf right below the mural. she picked one up and began flipping through the pages. "A diary?" she whispered as she set the book back down, "I can't take that one... It would be too personal..." she looked around and saw no other books around. the only way to get another book would be to confront the owner, whom happened to be the one dragon she feared most, thanks to all the stories Frost told her.

Since she had nothing better to do, but wait she sat down by the shelf and grabbed one of the diaries flipping to page one, and began reading.

Khafra looked around briefly, noting the many shelves of books.
"No, I was just curious as to what this building was doing here. It's kind of a strange sight in Hal'ia...especially one like this."

He ventured further into the library, "So, what do you do other than sit in here? Oh, where are my manners; I'm Khafra, and you are?"

Sasurei moved till at least the front half of him curved to stand in front of his desk. " I'm Sasurei Sasou, and I'm pleased to meet you Khafra. The building is kind of strangely placed. It was never this big before, always much smaller, but it was here when I came here. I was not very old, but I grew to like it. I normally unlock the doors in the morning after breakfast and sit and read my inbox of books. I read all the new books i purchase before they are placed on the shelves."

Sasurei moved the rest of the way out from behind his desk and moved towards the side of the library with empty shelves. "This side is the newest addition, I'm responsible for the finished look, it is mine to fill over my lifetime. As you can see, I have quite a chore, but the pile on my desk will be the first 12 to grace these shevles."

Sasurei looked at the floor a minute; "I apologize for speaking so much, i don't get very many patrons interested in the building, and I instantly want to tell them everything in a few minutes what took two lifetimes to build."

Sasurei was not looking down the aisle of the new section, but if he were to turn his head now he could see part of Iris. Just not what she was doing, and she could certainly see him easily as his length blocked the end of the aisle directly across from where she was sitting.

Iris heard their conversation and froze. Her heart began pounding as she slowly closed the book and set it back on the shelf without a sound. As slow as she could she moved out of his line of sight and hid a few aisles down where it was darker.

Sasurei turned his head thinking he caught something in his corner vision. "Excuse me a minute Khafra." Sasurei moved down the aisle, and standing just at the end of it he blinked a bit seeing only the books, and he was just about to leave when he noticed his mothers was leaning differently. "Hmmm..." He moved over and righted the book the correct way. "There you go mother."

Iris tried her best not to start whimpering, but her vision was being blurred by tears. The only thing she could think about was the fact that she had been trespassing on someone property, and it was all Jacks fault.

She pulled her wings close to her body to hide her brighter colors as she pressed her body to the floor and tried to slowly move more to the middle of the aisle. When she got there she closed her eyes and tried to imagine a happy place; somewhere with Echo... like going on an adventure in the Scrub forest. yeah, the forest was a happy place; fresh air, beautiful clear cool water, that's where she wanted to be.

Frost laid down on the ground and sighed, "Good grief, what's taking that girl so long... You suppose she got caught?" Jack looked over to see that he wasn't talking to anyone; Echo was already half way up the path to the library. He hissed in a low manor, trying not to be heard by anyone but Echo, "Echo! He's going to suck out your soul, and use your lifeless corpse as fish bait!"

Echo chuckled to himself thinking of the idea. If he were "the crazy zombie librarian on the hill" he would go after the flesh, or brains... not the soul. His brother was foolish if he thought his silly stories had any affect on him.

Echo finally made it up to the odd building and swung the door open, "Hello?" he called trying to his voice low; it was a library after all.

sasurei was thrilled to hear a newcomer and he went the opposite way and back up another aisle, but paused seeing a skylight glass propped open. "Hmmm...I must have left this one open." using the shelves to pick himself up he used his nose to knock the prop loose. The skylight slammed closed. He let himself down and headed back out to the main walkway. "Hello, welcome to skylight Library, my name is Sasurei, feel free to browse about, or if your looking for something in particular don't hesitate to ask me."

Sasurei returned to Khafra; 'I apologize, seems i left a skylight open when i was cleaning yesterday. I must have caught the shadow on the back wall."

Echo walked up and down the aisles of books and when he passed through them all he walked to the back area and saw the mural. He smirked and walked a few aisles down and saw Iris curled up in a ball shivering and crying. he nuzzled her side with his snout, "Hey you, let's get going."

She jumped and screamed, but was quickly silenced by Echo's claws clamping her mouth shut. her eyes opened wide and she threw herself into his arms, "You came for me! I was so scared... how did you get in?"

Echo gave her a funny look and slowly freed himself from her grasp, "I came in through the front door... how else?"

She gasped and backed away, "But... he didn't chop you into pieces and use you for fish bait?"

Echo laughed, "You can't believe everything my silly brother says."

Iris blushed and growled, "Damn Frost..."

Echo walked back into the main area where all the books were and selected one off the shelf, "May i borrow this one, it looks interesting. I'll bring it back tomorrow."

Iris slowly followed Echo with her tail curled around her back left leg, her head down so as to not be seen by Sasurei.

Sasurei mused; "Well as long as you bring it back have for as long as you wish. However, before you go, you need to sign for it, the sign out register is on my desk, and be sure to put the title of the book down along with your name." Sasurei kept his eyes on him, he never had a book stolen, and he wasn't about to have someone run out with one right under his nose.

Echo gave Sasurei a confused look and walked over to the desk. he dipped his first talon into the ink and scribbled the title and his name down. before he left he bowed his head slightly and said, "Thank you for the book."

Iris slowly crept along the side of Sasurei's desk keeping as low as possible. one of her claws clicked on the wood floor and she leaped a good four feet into the air and ran to hide behind Echo.

He laughed at her and smiled, "Come on you... you got your book."

Iris nodded and continued to crawl away shaking with her tail coiled around her back left leg.

Sasurei smiled; "Your very welcome, come again, i have plenty more. Sasurei watched Echo's friend. "Excuse me sir, but who is your friend there? They seem rather frightened, i don't seem to understand how this place is can be intimidating, but I assure you its rather safe."
