So the Steam sticky got deleted at some point, and the TF2 blog now has a the Scout on the table for the next class to update. One specific thing that the developers mentioned is giving the Scout tools to better serve him on maps like Dustbowl and Gold Rush.
Post your thoughts, ideas, and wishes. If you don't care for the Scout, post for another class.

So the Scout needs to be better on Gold Rush and Dustbowl, eh? Well, I don't know if this will really help, but it would probably be a decent update for him overall. Take the bat, make it 50% weaker under normal conditions, but guarantee critical hits when holding the intelligence or sitting on a control point. This will not only allow the Scout to clear players blocking the capture, but would allow the Scout to defend points already taken by his team. In addition, it would help the Scout to escape tough spots while running the intelligence.
For the Scattergun, it would make the Scout a better attack class to give him some extra power under certain conditions. How about a power increase for aerial attacks?
EDIT: I suppose Tango is in a game...owell.
I realize--especially after looking at the TF2 forums--that there are a lot of ways the scout update could go.
Scattergun--regular update or new weapon: The Scattergun is the only shotgun to have two barrels, so why is there not a choice between firing one shot or two? If the power on a single shot needs to be cut down, so be it, but having the option of getting up close and firing three devastating shots could even take down a Heavy with ease. The downside is frequent reloads, and you can keep it so that the reload rate is the same, taking even longer for the Scout to get back into attack mode.
Pistol 1: the objective power boost (crits or extra power when holding intel or on a CP) is probably going to happen. The Scout is the best class for objectives, so it would work to his benefit of having a weapon that is piss-poor under normal conditions, but golden when the shots count most. The Scattergun is NOT an option for this idea, as it would rob the Scout of his basic assault ability while traveling TO the CPs and intel rooms, but a secondary weapon with this benefit would be a great addition to his arsenal.
Pistol 2: another idea I like is the dummy gun, or some way to distract other players and sentries. Shooting a dummy would take the sentries full attention for a period of time, allowing the Scout to do a lot of good. You could also make it so the dummy runs and jumps in one direction until he hits a wall or takes so much damage. This would distract REAL players as well, giving him a little more travel time.
Bat Replacement 2: The Trash Can Lid. This one is modified with my own ideas and possibilities. One of the obvious features is that it will give the Scout more defense, and a secondary fire could actually slow the Scout down and give him MORE defense. The drawback is power. The TCL could be all-around weaker, but you could also make it a charging weapon. The longer you hold down fire, the better it gets, and you could even make it a one-hit-kill weapons with a deadly forward thrust after a full charge. The biggest downside to this is that low charge strikes are too weak to do any real damage, and the longer you charge, the longer you have to spend recovering, leaving you open to attack.
Bat Replacement 3: The Knockaround (or some other witty title). This one gets no critical hits, and maybe is even a little weaker. You might make it faster, but the bat is pretty fast as it is. The real effect of this bat is unique and very useful. Every hit rotates the enemy somewhere between 30 and 180 degrees, and the direction is random. This means that melee strikes will disorient the enemy to a frustrating point, but makes the Scout an easy target for other enemies.
Bat Replacement 4: Another special effect weapon, this bat will have some drawback, but has the effect of making the enemy unable to attack--and maybe even from moving--for a very shot time (1 second or less). It's meant to have the same overall effect as the Knockaround.

Do you think I wouldn't be on Team Fortress Two? This new computer can run all stats at high as recommended, and load the game so amazingly fast.

LOL Well, being a HL2-run Source game, the requirements aren't that high by today's standards, but I can understand playing the game with fewer problems. Tis the major sadness of playing on a laptop emo
