Ok, I was touching a cat for a few hours and suddenly I got this red rash or bump on my arm. Does this mean I'm allergic to cats?

Usually allergic reactions with cats comes from the fur and involves respiratory problems foremost. Were you sneezing?

Woah, thats strange, I have been getting the exact same thing from my neighbours ginger cat, whenever I stroke him, I get this dry red rash on the back of my hand. Maybe its only certain cats who have different furr? I dont know lolz. xd

Certain cats and dogs cause me a skin reaction too. It is likely from the "prickliness' of the coat. I usually just wash and it goes away, but if that does not help, try a cortisone cream. It is not really an allergy though. Good thing too, with my job. biggrin

kami_panda i suggest u to go to the doctor xD cause I dunno why Kami makes a good point! Any rash that persists more than a day should be checked by a doctor. Cats can be carriers of ringworm (a fungus that infects the skin), but this does not sound like that. Also, if you do have a serious reaction it should be checked.
