"Come now Jumanjii', we don't want to waste too much daylight." The mare canted her head back to her little one, soft brows lifting as she noted him. So much like herself, save for the few but strong details that came from his father. Mane and tail the color of the sun setting day, and tribal swirls dancing across his pelt. Her own little son. Goodness! Who'd have thought she'd have such a lovely family once again. And how proud she was, giggling softly as the young colt stumbled on his own legs. "Manjii, be careful dear..."
Small ears pinned nervously as he once again tripped over his hooves, quick to catch his balance each time. "Yikes, it sure is hard to walk this way..." Light eyes looked around at the meadow, soft and sparse grass growing on pebbles and loose dirt. No soft or moist dirt here. "Hmm, ma...are there any apples out here too?" Manjii trotted up beside his mother and gave a soft tug on her long hair. It was time to eat, his tummy told him so. But there was no sign of the delicious red fruits...

Misaki lie on the ground, her legs curled up beneath her in case she needed to rise quickly. She watched with a pleased smile on her face as one of children, Ren, practiced walking on her still wobbly legs. Ren had arrived only days ago, she was still a bit shakey when it came to traveling. "There you go, Ren. Keep at it!" she called out as the little filly teetered to one side, then back to the other.Ren stood there, her hooves much to spread apart, but for the moment, she had balanced and she was proud of that. She nickered and laughed at her mother, "I'm getting it, Mom!" she chittered happily.
As she stood there, a movement in the distance caught her eye, her ears tried to focuse in for any sounds. Again, she saw movement. As quickly as her legs would allow, she made for her mother's side. "Mom...someone's there." she whispered.

"I'm afraid not, dear Manjii'. We have to walk some more to reach those." The mare shook her head and freed her hair from his little grasp before continuing on her stride. And while the little one huffed and sighed obviously, Setsumi ignored the sounds to perk her ears and lift her neck. There were more sounds out there...off in the distance. It wasn't hard to spot the pink against the grass, and the slither of red helped her focus on another mare sitting nearby.
No food....no yummy red food? But he was hungryyy, and the grass only tasted good for so long. But if he must, he'd just nibble some grass until they did reach the tastier food. Raising a brow as he noticed his mother ignoring him, Manjii set his gaze to match hers. "Ooooh! Look there mamma! What are they?" Curiousity made him edge further towards the sight, but still slow and sticking close to his parent.

Turning her head, it took her a moment to focus in on the objects that Ren had seen. There was a mare and a foal coming towards them. They had been slightly hard to spot from this angle, as their colors almost blended with the sky. Slowly, Misaki rose to her feet. Not wanting to startled the other mother and child. As they drew closer, Misaki smiled. They were not kalona nor skinwalker, they had no reason to be afraid. "It's okay, Ren. They look friendly." she nudged her little one. "Stay close thought." she directed.
"Who are they?" Ren questioned, thinking her mother should know everyone. "Are they friends of your's mom?" she asked, her eyes not leaving the strangers. Her ears were sticking straight up and her neck straightened a bit, trying to get a better look at the two. Ren was curious as well, but she wouldn't move from her mother's side unless she said she could.

Upon seeing the other pair stand, Jumanjii's eyes lit up. They were more them! Err, more Soquili! And look, there was even one just his size. Finally! Filled with excitement, Manjii darted over toward the duo with a happy tail flicking behind him. His mother hadn't darted ahead of him yet....so he was quick and blind to assume that it was safe. Typical, daring Manjii. "Wow!" He began to skid to a stop, realizing he was getting to close too fast and would risk slamming into the strangers. Kicking up some pebbles as he slowed, Manjii looked between the adult and the child. "'Ello!"
Keeping a calm pace, Setsumi followed her youngling toward the others. But with her longer legs, it didn't take too long after for her to reach the group. "Jumanjii', you know better." And she flicked her tail to his flank as a slight reprimand. Then she gazed back to the other mother. "I'm terribly sorry for his rash behavior. He gets it from his father." Bowing her head and letting long mane drape, Setsumi set the introductions. "My name is Setsumi, and this is my son, Jumanjii'.

Seeing the young colt blazing a path towards them, Ren quickly made her way to the other side of her mother for protection. Her eyes widened as the colt came to an almost skidding stop. Her eyes lit up as he spoke, they were friendly!
Misaki braced herself in case the little one didn't stop soon enough. It wouldn't have been the first time she had been hit by an exhuberant foal, and it wouldn't be the last. She smiled and looked down at him, "Hello, Little One." she greeted him with a smile before looking up to his mother. "It's no trouble, truely." She shook her head trying to fix a few stray strands of mane. "Pleasure, Setsumi," she then turned her focuse to the small one, "And, Jumanjii."
She looked over to Ren and nudged her forward a bit with her nose. "I'm Misaki, and this is Mi Ren Ko...Or Ren."

Setsumi gave a soft nod. "I'm glad then. I didn't want to startle either of you so suddenly." The mother blinked as she turned her attention back to Manjii'. It was a first for him to meet other foals beside his siblings. She could only wonder how he'd react, or poor Ren for that matter. "Please, if he does misbehave, don't hesitate to correct him." Her son's responding frown to her announcement was only met with a sweet smile.
"Huph, so bossy." Manjii' shrugged off his ma's comments to continue exploring. He wanted to meet this other tiny soqu! But...wait, where was she going? Manjii blinked his shadowed eyes and tilted his head, stepping after her carefully. "Wait, I'm not over there. Why are you going away?" His ears flicked and he remembered about their names. "I'm Jum...er, Manjii. And you'rrrrre," and he pounced forward playfully, "Mirenkooo! Yes?"

"Go on," she coaxed little Ren from her hiding. "He wants to be friends." She smiled as Ren took a few cautious steps forward.
Her attention shifted to Sumi. "She's not met another yet either. I'm afraid she's still a little shy."
She looked up to her mother, then over to Manjii as she spoke. "Friends?" She looked hopeful. "I....I'd like that," she stuttered out softly. "You can ca....call me Ren?" she said almost questioningly.
"Poor thing, I don't know how to help her over that," she whispered to Sumi.

The purple mare cast a glance to the other mother curiously. "Help her? Whatever is wrong...not the stutter, is it?" She couldn't see anything else of concern on the pink child. So was it some behavior problem the other was referring to?
Manjii' nodded boldly, stepping forward once more. "Well yeah friends, what else could there be." Then he stopped and chuckled to himself. "Though me sis does call me a wimpy bully, but she can never make up her mind." He stretched forward abit to nose curiously at her shoulder. "Alright then, you can be Ren. And I'll just be Manjii'; it sounds alot easier to say."

"Oh no, not the stutter. I'm sure that will work it's way out in time," she looked down to the two foals trying to akwardly get aquainted. "She's so shy...I want her to make many friends, but it's hard when they hide at your side all the time." she smiled and turned to Sumi. "You don't seem to have to worry with that with Jumanjii." She chuckled.
"Manjii..." her voice was soft, but she repeated his name, dedicating it to memory. "Do y...you play?" she tilted her head curiously. She and her siblings played games like tag or hide and seek. Not that they were very good with their still wobbly legs.

She couldn't help it, but a small whisper of a giggle escaped her as Setsumi lightly shook her head. "I must admit...I was, if not still am, a shy individual. Struck stiff by it, actually. But I'd like to think I came over it, with the help of some friends of course." The mare shrugged and peered back to the young ones. "When she's ready to open up, she'll know and take that step. Haha, but yes, Manjii does seem to be abit too nosy."
A nod was swift to answer the question. "Uh-huh. I love to play!" And he pawed the ground to the very idea, feeling his nerves jolt for such actions. But then he froze and frowned while turning his head away. "But sis says it's not right to scare girls. So I guess I can't play if it scares ye." Ugh, but why?! Just because he liked to test his strength against others, did that mean it was always scary? Or was his sis just saying things to tease him?

"Scare me?" she questioned Manjii. Her head tilted just a bit, not understanding how playing could be scary. "How do y...you scare them?" she asked, taking a few cautious steps away from her mother's side.
"I'm sure it's just a stage, but she can't be stuck at my side forever," she smiled and looked down at the little filly who was attempting to makes friends with Sumi's boy. "You two be careful," she directed before looking back to Sumi. "She hasnt' quite gotten her legs under her yet." laughing softly at the thought of Ren trying to run from Manjii while playing.

Manjii' smirked to himself, as if he had something oh-so important to say. Bobbing his head up and down, the boy explained. "Well, I guess I like to be playin rougher than normal. So....I guess that's what my sis means by scary. Though I don't think so! What fun is there if it be no challenge?" He stomped a hoof though to kep his energy under control. "But if ye prefer just....chatting or wandering, I could try that too." It couldn't be that boring, could it?...
"Hm, as much as I'd like to resist, I have to agree with you." Of course it was a motherly instinct to want their baby near. But the other was right, they did grow eventually. And when that time comes, they could only hope they did enough for them to stand to live on their own. The very thought was enough to make Sumi almost teary eyed. "Haha, neither has little Manjii'. He may act all tough and bouncing, but he trips just as often as the next foal."

Misaki laughed as she and the other mother talked. "She's learning, but just not quite there. We were out here practicing, she wants to impress her father." she bobbed her head slightly.
Looking to Ren she smiled and motioned for her to go play with her new friend. "Go on, play." she encouraged.
With her mother's encouragement, Ren took a few steps forward and looked to Manjii. "I...I play tag with my brother and sister." she offered with a hopeful look. Tag was really the only game that she knew how to play. "Or yo...you could tea..teach me?" her head tilted, wanting to make her new friend happy she'd be willing to try something new.

"Ah, I see." Setsumi flicked her own ears to her son. It was a mystery if he even cared to impress. He just...took action. No real hesitation or worries about the what and hows. Maybe though, he did care for impressing others and just didn't hint it. The mother would just have to watch and learn.
"Tag? Tag is good! Helps strengthen your legs and make you trot faster!" He stretched his own scrawny legs before wiggling his tail with a smile. "Haha, honestly tha be the only game I know too. Unless we find a pine cone to kick around." It may be simple entertainment, but it helped pass time.
