I'd have to say, as a lover of Japanese food I find Saizo in Sunnyvale, CA to be a perfect blend of food and atmosphere.

Its an izikaya (small plates, often skewered and grilled, which is called yakatori), and that makes it a great place to go with friends or that special someone. Although its located in a stripmall-type of place, don't let the look on the outside fool you. It can get a bit smoky from the grilled items, so be warned you will need to wash your clothes before wearing again smile

The food, although in small quantities, allows you to try various dishes, and when you find one you like, you'll prolly want to double up on quantity. We love the fried chicken skin (yes, fried chicken skin) and they give a great ponzu-type dipping sauce. You can't go wrong with the plain chicken yakitori, and my husband likes the butabara (think bacon on steroids). The rice balls (onigiri) are grilled, as well. Hard to do that just right at home smile

Overall, wide variety cooked deliciously.

I love this place because its cozy, offers a variety of great tasting Japanese food, and makes me feel like I'm back in Japan.

Reservations recommended, this place gets busy.

we tried Village California last weekend. It was fantastic! We tried the lamb skewers and it was just very well prepared.

definitely recommend it.

Well, I'm a celiac, so I have difficulties eating out...but it is easiest so far has been very authentic Mexican restaurants!
I replace the American standard of the flour tortilla with the corn tortilla, et voila, something safe and even more authentic meal.

Chunga's, Provo, UT
Mexican, specializing in tacos al pastor del D.F.
I love this pastorero because it puts a unique twist on a classic Mexico City street food.

My favorite resturant of all time, is sadly to say, closed.
It was called the Blue Bonnet Cafe.
It was located in Temple Texas.
They had the best food ever. Everything was home made from scratch, nothing frozen. It was so good. And it was family owned for 15 years.
