So yesterday my s/o and i were walking around the mall doing some xmas shopping. And there are always people in the walking area trying to sell you stuff, usually i say no.

But yesterday this French man was asking people to try things, and at first i said no, but he grabbed my hand and said 'you keep your nails natural?'

And THAT is what reeled me in.

He showed me this nail kit, a 3 step buffing brush, and cuticle oil.
He tried it on one nail, and WOW, it has this beautiful natural shine heart

He said it will last for 2 weeks, and it takes 3 minutes.
The cuticle oil and hand lotion is made from sea salt, and feels LOVELY.

So for you all that keep natural nails, i STRONGLY recommend you get one of these kits. Or try to find one off ebay/amazon. They are so great i swallowed the bullet and got one <3

I'll post a photo of how it makes my nails looks if anyone wants XD

* Has anyone here ever got their hands on one of these kits?

* What did you think?

* Do you think you'll invest in a nail kit?

Some comparison photos would be nice

I'm balking at the $50 price though. I use a 3-step buffing brush and you can pick those up for a couple of dollars are any drug store. The oils could be easily sourced for cheaper as well.

Other than recommending a 15 minute soak in warm olive oil I couldn't find any specific for nails and oils.

Pics or it didn't happen. xd

I'd be interested in it. I can't have nail polish - it makes my nails feel like they're suffocating. (Srsly.) I also tend to get quite a few hang nails and dry skin at the sides which is pretty ickies. I just take regular clippers and the file attached to the clippers for my nails. Funny, I love my nails dearly, but I don't have good tools for them and don't take care of them as I should.

I like that oil soak idea. I might give it a try tomorrow.

I never took care of my nails either, i used to bite them terribly.
But in the past 2 years ive grown my nails out, and take good care of them.
But i tend to stay away from nail salons, the smell makes me pass out.

Ahh okay, and thats for the top of the nail itself right, not the ends?

I only ever find things for the tips of the nails, to shape them.
I will have to go in the nail section of our cheap shops and take a look xd

Yeah it's a 3-step buffing thing for your nails, not really a file to shape the ends.

i'm soooorrrrrryyyyyyyy for bumping an old topic, but my friend works at the seacret booth at the mall so i got a bunch of free swag today! including the nail thingy(three of them actually, one in ocean scent for me, one for my mom, & one for my sister), a facial peeling gel(literally takes off all the dead skin without rubbing your face raw, i love it!), a mud mask(cleans the skin very nicely, leaves it soffffftttt), peeling "milk"(to follow up the peeling gel & actually rinse away the dead skin), mouisturizer(which did NOT leave my face greasy, surprisingly, most moisturizers do that), & body butter. quite frankly, i wouldn't have bought anything but the peeling gel, but all the free stuff is nice biggrin & it leaves you smelling really good(ocean scent anyways, there's also a cucumber scent but i'd rather smell like the beach).

so, the facial peeling gel is great, even if it is expensive, you don't need a lot, geeeeeeeet iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit~

My husband fell for that one year and got me the nail kit for Christmas. I hate how they stand at the cart and solicit to people walking by. The products are nice but they are overpriced. You can easily find the same things cheaper and better elsewhere. Getting the stuff for free is cool though! smile

i'd agree with most of that, except i've never seen anything like the peeling gel.

It sounds cool, and I'm a sucker for ocean scented things too.

Ahh. Back when I lived in Connecticut the same thing happened. A young foreigner grabbed me and started giving me a manicure.

It's a market ploy. A good one at that. Alas I bought the nail buffer and cuticle oils, and they worked wonders until I used them up.
