In a graceful move, Lilja stood from her seat that the small vanity that had come with the room she and her brother were staying at, and spun on her heel quickly to turn to face him. Silvery eyes, not unlike the color of mirrors, studied him for a long moment. He looked tired, she thought, a wave of sympathy washing over her. Whatever her brat-like tendencies, her brother was the most important thing in the world to her.
"Tuyok," she said in a tone that suggested she was speaking after much careful consideration. "Do you like it here? In the Fire Naiton, I mean, not necessarily in this inn. I think the weather is agreeing with us, personally," Lilja said, waving a hand about dramatically. "What do you think?" She let none of her concern or worry show through, simply mild interest in what their next move in life might be.

Tuyok looked up from where he was sitting on the bed, head bowed as he rested as best as he could. He heard his sister move, but didn't look up yet, not wanting to bother him and not wanting to give up the quiet relaxation he was enjoying. But when she spoke his name, he lifted his head, blinking slowly and offering a tired smile. "It's nice here."
The performer sat up slowly, the tension and fatigue in his shoulders standing out in his slow movements. "I do like it here, yes, and the weather is nice... surprisingly. It's odd to find myself enjoying the warmth so much," he commented, before looking at Lilja curiously. "What are you getting at?"

Ah, just as she'd thought... Poor thing. He never did have the taste for travel that she did. "What I'm getting at," she said slowly, picking her words carefully, "is that it might be nice to get something of a permanent job, wouldn't it? These people here, they're all so serious! They only think about strength, and the military, and all those boring things." She made a face, wrinkling her nose and sticking out her tongue.
"They're practically begging for performers as talented as we are to stick around and help relieve the tedium of their empty lives!" She paused, and offered Tuyok a kind and sisterly smile. "What I'm getting at is that maybe we should think about settling down, at least for a little while. You're tired, brother."

Tuyok listened intently to what his sister had to say, blinking slowly and considering her words. To have her suggest settling down was more than surprising, and his eyebrows lifted while he gave her a startled look. "You actually want to settle in some place?" he asked in bemusement, before chuckling.
"I'm not all that tired, really... just worn down. If you... if you want to move on, I can. Don't feel like we need to settle some place just because of me." He shrugged a little, pushing himself to his feet and rolling his shoulders, before smiling softly at Lilja. "But I won't protest, either, should we decide to stay here."

Lilja scoffed at her brother's words. "You act as if that's the only reason I would want to find a home here. And the public assumes that I am somehow the conceited twin." She winked, and offered her brother a grin. That soft smile of his was all she needed to see, to know that her offer agreed with him. "Let us call it a trial, hmm? We'll find some place nice to stay, and we'll see if we can't find work to sustain us. If it ends up not working out, then we're free to travel again, aren't we? We'll make sure to send news to the tribe, of course. It would be horrible if they worried about us too much." She smoothed back a lock of dark hair, before continuing. "so now that it's all settled, we should head down to that lovely open-air market I saw. We're in need of new costumes, don't you agree?"

Tuyok chuckled at his sister's words, reaching out to draw her into a hug, kissing her cheek lightly. "Thank you," he murmured, giving her a look. He knew she worried for him, probably more than he worried for himself, and appreciated that. "We can go looking for a new place to live, too, while we're out in the market. What sort of costumes are you considering? Qiao can make them, you know."

Lilja waved off her brother's thanks, not wanting to make too much of a fuss or a scene. Emotions weren't something she dealt very well with, not when they were her own. "Oh, that's right! You have a very talented little friend there, don't you?" She gave him a sly look, slipping her shoes onto her small feet. "Wherever did you find her? She seems to be quite taken with you. Then again, you are almost as pretty as I am." She smirked, and opened the door that led into the hallways of the inn. "No costumes, then. Jewelry and trinkets on the other hand..."

"You just want more pretty things to show off," teased Tuyok lightly, following after his sister after making sure that his hair looked decent enough. He reached out to curl an arm around Lilja, smiling warmly and tapping his shoes on. "We'll find you some nice little bangles, maybe. And a nice necklace, maybe..."

"Bangles and a necklace, you say? Ha! I was thinking something a little more flashy. Maybe a tiara, or something." She grinned, glad to see that her brother was in better spirits. Maybe settling down wouldn't be so bad, if they could do things like this together. The constant stress of packing, unpacking, and moving to the next performance did get to her a little, though part of Lilja would always love the rush of being welcomed into a new city or town. Still, she would adjust. "Though perhaps I'll go a different route entirely, and look for a ring." She wiggled her bare fingers as they made their way outside. "I don't have any of those just yet. I wonder if Qiao would like something as well?"

Tuyok trailed after his sister, smiling warmly all the way. It felt so nice to go out of the house for nothing more than to go shopping - no rushing to grab last minute things, no scrambling to pack, no hurrying out to practice, or perform, just to rush back home and get as much sleep as possible. He sighed heavily and contently when they stepped outside, before hooking an arm around one of Lilja's. "Mm, a ring would look rather lovely on you," he said, before pausing and giving his sister a startled look. "Qiao? Oh... she probably would like something..."

Linking arms with her twin, they set off down the way, the sounds of the open-air market already loud and clear. Lilja loved the hustle and bustle of large cities- so many people to watch, things to buy, and stuff to do! "A ring it is, then," she said with a decisive nod. "And yes, I'm sure she would like a gift. I'll help you pick one out. Maybe I'll deliver it too..." she pondered aloud, a plan forming as she looked over the different wares and trinkets the vendors were offering. "It would be the perfect excuse to get to know her without you lurking about, fussing in that way of yours. What do you think she would like?"

Tuyok scowled a little at his sister, pulling her closer. "I do not fuss," he replied defensively, snorting and looking around the market as they walked, looking for something that his sister would like as well as something Qiao would like, too. "She might like a hair pick... whatever. Comb. A pretty comb," he replied, nodding firmly.

"You do too fuss," she said, poking lightly at his belly, before slipping away from him as she spotted a rather nice looking stand. "A hair comb, you say? Yes, that would be perfect... I could show her how to wear it, and she won't have to hide under that hat all the time, though it is a rather fashionable hat." She set to looking through the different combs, noting that some of them contained real jewels, which was exactly what she was looking for. "See any that you like, Tuyok? Or rather, any that she would like?"
