Forgive me if some of this is innaccurate, I haven't been able to watch RAW in several weeks.
Ever since the WWE signed Goldust, I have been adamant about seeing him and Cody Rhodes team up. With his alliance to Priceless/Legacy, this is going to be hard for Cody, but hopefully the two join up soon. Here's a few of the reasons I think they should.
1) Probably the most obvious reason is the fact that they're brothers. I find it insane how Dustin and Cody are rarely talked about in the same conversations, or how the two haven't even talked to each other on live tv. I think its a slap in the face to smarks who know the two are brothers, and it seems like WWE creative doesn't want anyone oblivious to the fact knowing.
Imagine if Jeff never teamed up with Matt when he returned to the WWE. Do you know how akward that would've been? Same thing applies here.
2) Experience. Goldust has been with the WWE for as long as I can remember. Cody had a good thing goin' when he was teaming with a veteran like Hardcore Holly. Teaming with his brother would elevate his potential like no other. He could learn the ropes from Dustin, understand persona without a doubt, and so many other perks.
3) Character. I gotta admit, Cody is probably one of the blandest superstars today. If I didn't know he was a second generation son to an all time great, I could swear he was an average jobber. Imagine someone as boring as Cody teaming up with one of the raunchiest, perverse, and entertaining characters in wwe history, Goldust. Not only would he define his character, but the extreme differences between the two would make for awesome tag team chemistry. Can anyone picture Goldust Jr.?
4) I loved the team Bookdust. This is probably the closest I'm going to get to seeing that team again, so I have my fingers crossed.
Anyway, that's my main reasons. I could go on about how Goldust would have career safety teaming with Cody, or how Cody does better as a face, and how a face turn would leave legacy or priceless with enough members to still be a dominant force. I would like to hear what others think about the two teaming up.
