Today, was no different than any other day..Except the snowstorm had brushed past, and now he was left with ivory awesomeness. He loved snow.. Sure he didnt actually know what Summer felt like..But snow, was just amazingly beautiful.
He looked around him, little ebony butt plopped in the snow, his hooves in front of him, much like a dog would sit. His forest green eyes sparkled as he looked at the soft snow and how it formed to every curve of the lands.
The hills were covered, the trees as well, and just as he was about to look at more..
PLOP.
A pile of snow fell from the upper branch of the tree, and fell right on his head. Sputtering, he shook his head, standing up quickly.
"What the-" The snow was cold on his face, moreso than anywhere else, and he shook his head to remove it. Snow flung everywhere.
His eyes blinked again, making sure to stand away from the tree..Which would have been a smart idea to begin with.
Rafe smiled however, and started humming.

Everything was just so... white!
She scampered from one snow-covered bush to the next, nosing them curiously and giggling as a bit of snow slid from the leaves and fell onto her nose. Vienne shook her dark head, wondering why everything was suddenly covered in white. Maybe that strange storm blew it all over? She scrunched up her brow in thought. It was all probably from some far away place that needed to be cleaned, and the wind had cleaned it all up.
And brought it all here! The filly nodded her head firmly at her explanation, thrilled that she had found yet another answer to the many questions that were always popping up in her mind.
She trotted away from the bushes and had just stopped to inspect the small prints her hooves were making in the white ground when her ears picked up a faint sound. She tilted her head and swiveled her ears towards the source of the noise, the hoofprints forgotten.
What a strange noise... maybe it's some wierd creature the wind blew over, she thought, making her way slowly towards its direction.

Rafe loved the snow. Lovedlovedloved it. It was the only thing he knew, but he didnt care, it was too beautfiul not to love. He lifted his head in the air, closing his eyes, and pranced around almost like a circus pony. He was smiling, prancing, and carrying on, and he didnt even notice the filly who was heading his way.
He opened his mouth, singing while he stomped around, grinning from ear to ear.
"And say, ha What I wanna say Tell me I'm an angel, Take this to my grave.
Tell me I'm a bad man, Kick me like a stray. Tell me I'm an angel, Take this to my grave. "
He loved to be out here, and now, the colt was wondering about all sorts of new things. He wondered how the snow happened, and what the earth looked like without the white powder.
He didnt care to actually come up with a theory, but it would be fun to know.

She was close enough now to make out words coming from the distance. Someone was singing! The inquisitive foal stopped to listen for a moment. It wasn't a song that she knew... the lyrics were rather strange to her ears.
Swishing her tail curiously, Vienne moved even closer and peeked out from behind a snow-laden tree. Oh... it was just another foal! A singing and dancing one, at that. The colt's dark coat contrasted greatly with the white landscape around them, much like her own. Bemused, she stepped out from her hiding spot and ventured forth a few paces.
"H-hullo," she said quietly, then raised her voice slightly so it could be heard over the other's singing. "What's that you're singing?"

He stopped dead in his tracks when the voice was heard. His earsp erked, his eyes widened, and he stood stiif, before craning his neck to see who the voice came from.
When he saw the winged filly, he turned a bit, flicking his little tail, and cocking his head.
Oh dear god, how much had she heard?
"Hello." He said, voice a bit deep for a foal, but still a small childs voice.
"Nothin' just a song.." If she hadnt heard it before, he wasnt sure how to explain it. He had heard some of the loners around here humming it while they walked, and he had liked the tune.
"Whats yer name?" He asked, strutting closer to her.

Vienne tilted her head at the colt and instinctively hopped a few paces back. It was always her nature to be cautious with new Soquili. She usually opened up only after she was sure they were friendly. This one seemed a bit on the wild side, and the filly eyed his every move in case things turned out for the worse and she had to make a break for it.
"Umm... I'm Vienne," she replied, then added, "I liked your song, by the way." Perhaps it hadn't been a good idea to make herself known. The other foal seemed uncomfortable with the fact that she had seen him singing and dancing. Lowering her head a bit in embarrassment, she murmered, "So... what's your name?"

He smiled a bit, just beginnings of one, and flicked his tail. She was a pretty filly, with lovely wings that stood out from her body. She was what his mother had called a Flutter..
He wasnt dangerous, at least not to anything 'important'. He was a dominant soul, yes, but he would never hurt unless the situation required it. He was indeed a Wild thing, but not in the way Vienne would have guessed.
"Nice to meetcha." He said with a nod. "Name's Rafe." He almost stopped talking, but his ears perked and his mouth formed a tiny 'O'.
"Really?" He blushed only slightly. She had liked his song!

Thankfully he wasn't taking her intrusion the wrong way. Vienne let her guard down slightly and couldn't help smiling back at the colt.
"Oh... that's a lovely name," she said genuinely, eyeing the other with curiosity as she noticed his blush. Had she said something wrong? Her father had always told her to take care of what she said to others. Some things just weren't meant to be stated out loud... this wasn't one of them, was it?
"Um... y-yes," she stammered, a bit lost on what else to add. She thought for a moment and continued, "It's a nice tune... do you know a lot of songs?" It seemed like a normal question one would ask in a conversation. Hopefully she wasn't making things worse.

He smiled, nodding a bit and stamping in place with his head held high.
"Mhm! Er.." Then he lowered his head growing a bashful look. "I like to think I do..I could know very little, depending on how many someone else knows." He said with another nod.
Then he looked at her wings again and cocked his head, an awed look on his face.
"You're..You're a flutter. Ive never met one-a those before." He said, eyeing them, though happy he was a ground dweller as he imagined he'd be afraid of heights.
