I agree with the computers point, and the liberal arts point.

About the Hillary Clinton thing, I can see some ups and downs:
Up. If Hillary doesn't want to be finished in Washington she has a great incentive to make sure that Obama's presidency runs smoothly.
Down. This could definitely backfire on us very easily.

However I do not believe in conspiracy theories, end of story. Look Obama selected Clinton for SecState it does not necessarily mean he was blackmailed.

He has a great point on the terrorism issue.

I like the civil union point. The gvt should not have anything to do with marriage for anyone, but rather keep track of partnerships and economic interdependence with a secular system.

It is not hypocritical to support working class values and protest the hunting of wolves

Ugh!!! I'm extremely fed up with all the Clinton hating! I have always been a prodigious Hillary Clinton supporter, and I remember being told to "stop bitching and support Obama" quite well. Now it's everyone else's turn to "stop bitching and support Obama." He chose Hillary Clinton to be his Secretary of State because he knows she'll do very well. Just be happy you got the president you wanted and shut up, because some of us weren't as fortunate.

I stopped reading the article after the fifth paragraph, so that's all I have to say.

If you recall I refuse to support obama until he takes the office of the presidency, at that point i will pay lip service to him and give him the benefit of the doubt. At this point he does not represent this nation so I openely declare my lack of faith in his ability to lead.

Well his lack of a clearly defined plan initially began to degrade my support, then when he chose biden all support evaporated as I realized he was probably just your average joe democrat (pardon the pun)

Also one thing I did not notice the first time I ran through this thread...
I remind all members of the guild to please watch your language, as swearing is not permitted in this forum.

its true...democrats aren't immune to political BS. Speaking of which, I just re-listened to Malcolm X's "Ballot or the Bullet" speech where he warned of this very thing. Playing by the rules is falling for the trap. People think that things will be different, get all excited to vote, turn out in record numbers, and nothing changes. Just like the black politicians of the 60's that he claimed were puppets to the same system that oppressed them and indicated a willingness of black politicians to play that game rather than indicating any true social change. I'll admit, Biden is an old guard, game savvy, rich white guy. I am still hopeful though, that some good will be done.

Perhaps our status as the only industrial nation without national health care will soon be changed? Not under a republican, I'm sure.
