Ana Cruz was in heaven - the central sacred temple of the materialistic North American culture, otherwise known as the common shopping mall. But this was Ana's favorite mall, it had only the finest stores by the world's leading designers, which she was dressed in from head to do. Wearing a designer's dress and classic black heeled shoes, Ana walked through the mall with a wide grin plastered onto her face as she carried over half a dozen bags from a variety of shops. When Ana went shopping, she never paid much attention to how much she was spending, all that mattered was that it was hers, she rarely ever had to worry about money, she inherited enough to cover her lifestyle for a while. And only three days ago she had finished a fantastic photo shoot for Chic magazine, which will be on the stands by January, so she knew that she would be having more money come in soon enough.
She walked confidently through the mall, her deep brown hair bouncing with every step. But when a strand of hair fell in front of Ana's face, her beautifully confident aura took a turn. She pushed the strand out of her view, accidentally dropping some of the bags in the process. She had a bit of a delayed reaction of surprise, which led to her other bags falling to the floor as well, all of her designer clothes on the disgusting floor of the mall. Ana fell to her knees in a hurry, quickly trying to throw her belongings back into their bags before someone could see her in this embarrassingly off moment.

Shopping malls were most certainly not on the list of Evan Gold's usual haunts, but purchases needed to be made on occasion, and he was at least going to avoid the hole-in-the-wall downtown shops while browsing. This particular location was known for catering to the rich and beautiful; he'd been pleased with the ambiance as soon as he'd set foot inside and had taken his time so far, pausing to sketch the girls in form-fitting dresses and detouring for an expensive coffee. Though he was clothed in attire that might have been a little too warm for today's temperature - a gold accented jacket with dark slacks to match, topped with a mustard-coloured cashmere scarf that hung luxuriously over his green shirt - he fit right in with the crowd of busy shoppers in the mall.
He checked his watch and tucked his sketchbook under his arm, rising from the small table set up in front of the coffee shop to head towards a boutique at the other end of the mall. Distracted, he almost didn't notice when a girl in front of him dropped all of her shopping bags, and would have stepped on her expensive purchases if not for the sound of soft laughter that caused him to look up. He couldn't stifle a snicker himself, but extended a hand to take the bags she had already stuffed full.
"Did you wake up with two left feet, or are you really that unconcerned about your reputation?" he asked, voice low. A fine introduction.

Ana laughed a bit in her shuffling embarrassment as the man helped her pick up her bags. "Thank you," she said as she finished stuffing her bags with her clothes she got off the ground and smiled at him. "Do I look like someone who is unconcerned with their reputation?" she teased. After all, she was decked out head to toe in the finest garments of clothing. Ana may be overly concerned with her own appearance, but at least she was honest and straight forward about it. That has to count for something, doesn't it? Besides, she was a model, looking good was her job.
With her moment of shame for the day over with, she finally got a chance to get a good luck at the boy. He was cute, not quite her type, but still attractive. He dressed well and fashionably with a unique style, which was a major plus in Ana's book. "Thank you again. I'm Ana, by the way," she said with a small smile as she tried to reach out her hand for a handshake without dropping all of her bags on the ground again. For a second, she almost repeated the whole scene, but fortunately caught herself with a tiny laugh.
