Special Events and Milestones *Unsou is represented by #424453*T708 - Is declared Lucid and receives the Name of Wood. T708 - Becomes the Squire of the Knight Kahi, a Dragon Knight who usually patrols Rinkoku. T712 - Is made a Knight of Empress Rishi. Shortly afterwards she begins formally seeking and challenging the best warriors of the Empire to duels, all of which she wins -- partially due to her skill but also because she chooses weapon match-ups that will put her at an advantage. T713 - Puts down a serious rebellion in northern Kokoku. Anonymous officials criticize her for using excessive violence, but due to her efficiency she faces no real backlash. T716 - Upon defeating the Dragon Knight Setsushi at a contest of spears, she receives special praise from the Empress. Later that year, she is made a Dragon Knight. T720 - Unshoku dies and Rouyu retires from his job copying texts at the library, entering a temple to meditate until his death. Unsou finds herself a little bit depressed. T720 - Unsou is summoned to the Capital City; according to the messenger, the Empress wishes to address the three remaining Dragon Knights on the subject of Setsushi's recent disappearance.

Friends and Acquaintances Golden WorldUnshoku - While Unsou respected her mother and admired Unshoku's perfectionism concerning the scholarly arts, they often clashed over the morality of a military career. Though Unsou was often frustrated with her, she finds herself terribly missing her mother now that she is dead. Rouyu - While Unsou probably got another dose of perfectionism from her father's genes, she found him to be annoyingly submissive and unambitious. Seeing his suffering at the death of his wife, though, has made Unsou feel bad for him. Kahi - At first, admired her, but over time began to suspect that her easy-going personality and "excessive" interest in her husband were preventing her from becoming an even greater Knight. Now that Kahi is an old woman, peacefully retired, Unsou does not speak with her much any more. Tenkyuu - Admires her. Tenkyuu is clearly a superior archer, and though she is calm and laconic like Unsou, she is well-liked by many people. Unsou would like to learn how Tenkyuu is socially successful, as Unsou thinks it makes Tenkyuu a better commander. Chourou - Unsou deeply respects Chourou, whom she acknowledges to be a superior strategist and diplomat, even if Unsou is better at combat. Unsou imagines that she would be a good person to befriend in her new self-improvement project, as Chourou is highly successful and may be able to teach Unsou useful information. Setsushi - Admires his intelligence and ability; he is quite capable, for a male. Still, Unsou considers him too soft-hearted, and she does not believe associating with him will gain her anything useful. Souken - Souken has tried to lure Unsou into her faction through gifts, favors, offers of luxurious positions and pretty husbands, but these efforts just disgust Unsou; she is too virtuous to take bribes or involve herself with politics. Tenryuu - Unsure how Tenryuu could ever be related to Tenkyuu, Unsou is largely disgusted with this young woman's personality. However, Tenryuu does have some interesting battle tactics...

Unsou's Personality Given Name: Unsou 雲槍 Elemental Name: Wood Lucidity: High Lucid Birthdate: 4-24 T695 Birthplace: West Feather, Rinkoku Age: 25 Height: 4'9" Weight: Light stare Character: Unyielding Talent: Spears Occupation: Dragon Knight Zodiac PersonalitySun Sign - the Spearman (the month of Ascent) Bold, excitable, aggressive, stubborn, dedicated to self-improvement. Moon Sign - the Scribe (the month of Submission) Meticulous, proprietous, nervous, preferring to serve others. Mother: Unshoku, Lucid Water, Master of the Library of West Feather, now deceased Father: Rouyu, Dreaming Water, a copier-scribe at the Library, now retired Spouse: No thank you stare Past InfluencesOf the four Dragon Knights, perhaps the most feared is not the giant swordsman Setsushi, but the "Flying Spear," one of the most cold, inscrutable, disciplined warriors in memory. Upon first meeting her, most people are intimidated by Unsou, who, though quiet and reserved, seems to inwardly seethe with power, a roiling dragon ready to burst furth at any moment.
A small, slender young woman, the daughter of two scholars who was not born especially strong, Unsou has managed to become an almost unparalleled warrior through her extreme self-discipline and deep drive to improve herself. Unsou must achieve perfection in everything she does; she cannot tolerate mediocrity in herself. In order to achieve such a high level of skill, she wastes no time on hobbies, relationships, or other distractions; from her youth she has exclusively trained in the martial arts and the skills required for military command. She realized that, due to her smaller size, she would never be the strongest in terms of brute force, and so has refined her skill, agility, and knowledge of maneuvers, feints, and tactics to the utmost degree. Her abilities are unparalleled in the kingdom; none has ever defeated her in a duel of spears, and she is highly capable with halberd, staff, sword, and bow as well.
But now, a Dragon Knight, almost undefeated, feared by bandits and revered by the common folk in every corner of the land, has Unsou already achieved the perfection she sought? Her mother, Unshoku, told her so, telling her that it was time to set down the spear for a while and develop an interest in the life-enriching arts, perhaps find a likable man to provide her with offspring. Unsou largely scoffed at her suggestions, but as the years passed, she gradually began to become less interested in being the best, in surpassing other people, and became more interested in surpassing herself, pushing herself past mere mastery of the arts of war and into a higher physical, mental, and spiritual perfection.
But when Unshoku died earlier this year, Unsou found herself feeling a profound sense of loss for the first time. She began to wonder if perhaps it would be good to rest for just a little while, to develop her personality into something more interesting than an obsession with improvement, and to form bonds with the people around her before they disappear forever.
Of course, considering her stubborn perfectionism, maybe she will try to be the "best dilettante" or "perfect friend"... And she will most likely face many hitches and false starts, having so little knowledge of how to make friends and how to enjoy herself.Likes:- Improving herself - Efficiency - Simplicity - Nature - People who master their fields - Martial arts - Tactics - StrategyDislikes:- Annoying things - Idleness - Sentimentality Health issues: Highly lactose intolerant, but otherwise robust Romantic inclinations: Unsou finds males to be overemotional, foolish, and weak overall, and so does not like associating with them. One of the reasons she became a Knight rather than an officer of the army was that she did not want to deal with a bunch of stupid male underlings. ... However, if she does follow her mother's last wishes, she supposes she will have to find one that she can tolerate...
