The Forest and Hills is northeast from the Gathering Hall. The Forest and Hills is about a large area with three sections to it. In the east side of it is a river. The north side contains wide open fields and cliffs. The west side is a swamp/forest. The south side of it contains the hunter camp. A dome tent is made of giant bones and yellow leather. In front of it is a chest containing preset supplies for your hunt or gather. Inside is a poorly padded non-elevated cot.

The Forest and Hills contain monsters such as: velociprey, vespoid, bullfango, mosswine, aptonoth, melynx, felyne, rathalos, rathian, yian kut-ku, yian garuga, and velocidrome.

Ryuumei caught up to Alex from the think brush, and went ahead and opened the box, reached inside, and took out the remaining 8 First aids, no Paintballs, 4 Mini Whestones, and no Flash Bombs. He then started running towards to the thick forest part of the Forest and Hills.

Ryuumei kept running through the thick brush in his way, and moved everything out of his way with his shield. His path suddenly cleared out and right before him were three velociprey feeding on the corpse of a dead kelbi. Two were eating and the third was keeping a look out. The trees above were blocking out most of the light so only a few rays were shining down. Because of that it was very hard to see which way the third velocprey was looking. His thought was The best first move to pull would have to be throwing a flash bomb. He decided to do so and took his left hand reached in his left thigh bag and pulled out a flash bomb. He started to kneel down and at the same time keep an eye on the direction of the velociprey. Once he got down he felt around with his knuckles for a rock. He found one and placed his middle finger on the wick, sandwiching the wick in between the finger and the rock. Still staring in the direction of his prey he quickly scraped the wick against the rock, which lit the wick, threw the bomb right above them, placed the shield in front of him to block the flash, and pulled out his his gunlance and whipped it to full length. Right as soon as he had his shield half way in front of his face the bomb went off and lit up the whole forest in one micro second of a flash. Even though he closed his eyes he still got a little effect of the flash causing him to become a little dizzy. When his gunlance was to full length and ready, he charged forth right in the direction of one of the velociprey that was feeding on the corpse.

As Ryuumei was running toward a velociprey he shot off two bullets at the it. One missed but the other hit it on the left leg. The beast, still unable to see, lashed around. Ryuumei ran up blocked a few swings with his shield and bashed it with his shield as well causing it to fall to the ground. He shoved his his gunlance blade into the velociprey's chest, and shot 4 bullets into it. He pulled the blade out and of the obliterated chest and locked on to the velociprey next to him. Ryuumei knelt down again, put up his shield, pulled the lever to overload the gunpowder, and pulled the trigger to unleash the devastating "Dragon Fire" on the very unlucky creature. Sparks flew for a moment then a burst of flames both impacted and burnt the velociprey which sent it flying into a ledge. Ryuumei ran over to the body and thrust down on the lance and chopped off its head. Ryuumei pulled another lever to let the gunlance fold in half. From this position Ryuumei reloaded his gunlance. He reached into his right thigh bag with his right hand and pulled out the shells. He emptied the barrel and shoved the shells into place. Flipped the gunlance to full length again and turned around to face the last velociprey. To his suprise it was right in front of him, staring at him. It was obvious the flash had worn off on it. The creature jumped right on top of him knocking him down to the ground. There was a loud thud then silence except for the velociprey breathing heavily in his face. Its razor sharp claws were piercing through his thick khezu leather armor. He could feel the claws in his flesh of his stomach now. The velociprey was about to take a bite out of his face, but he bashed it with his shield. The velociprey was on the ground struggling to get back up. As it was, Ryuumei slowly worked his way back up. When he was on his feet, the velociprey lunged up and landed on his feet as well. Its first reaction was taking a bite out Ryuumei's left ankle. He raised up his right foot and stomped down on its neck making it loose its grip on his ankle. He kept stomping down on its neck, and right before he snapped its neck as a last resort, the velociprey kicked upward with its left leg and gouged the left side of his face. Once Ryuumei snapped its neck all tense aura in that section of the forest was lost. He could finally relax for the time being, and collect the heads for proof.

Ryuumei began taking the heads of the velociprey corpses. It was a messy job, but it had to be done. Once he had collected the heads he started walking in the direction of the open fields, and drank a few first aids (Yes they're drinkable to those who didn't know).

Ryuumei was in the midst of walking to the open fields when he heard the scream of a velociprey. He knew it had to be Alexander so he started running to that clearing. He pushed his way through thorn and bushes, and he zigzagged in between the trees. Ryuumei finally made it to the clearing that his brother was in and noticed he was surrounded by 7 velociprey. His first thought was I'd better get their attention. He grabbed his gunlance handle and whipped it into place, readying to aim and fire at one of the velociprey.

Ryuumei watched the fight, but then decided that he getting distracted. He aimed at a velociprey near a tree and shot two time. Neither hit it, but it got its attention. Not only that one but two others as well. The one he shot at charged at him. Ryuumei noticed that gunlance had cooled down from its last dragon fire blast. He pulled the lever to overload the gunpowder, pulled the trigger, and was sent flying in the air. He landed about a yard behind Alexander. Ryuumei said to him, "Greetings brother."

"Fine," Ryuumei replied. He put up his shield and gunlance and charged at one of the velociprey. It jumped out of the way, and another velociprey bit him from behind. He turned around and smacked it across the face with his shield, knocking it to the ground. He turned back around and thrusted his blade into a velociprey and maneuvered the lance to smash it against a nearby tree.
