The soft blue shadows of the jungle fully covered Aey's form as she moved deftly along a large and sloped branch, heavy tail dragging along with the tip flicking every now and then. Near to the end of the branch sat a quaint bird's nest, the twigs formed in a high basket. She could see a mother nested there- or was it a male bird? No matter... it was rare for these types of birds to nest so low in the canopy but it was not completely unheard of.
She wasn't really after the bird, and if she'd thought more carefully should realized she could have scared it away from the eggs permanently.. if there were even eggs... but she was just terribly bored! She'd left her brothers and father almost two moons ago and had been doing quite fine by herself but she'd also grown slightly lonely, having no one but her prey for companionship. She froze on the branch as the bird's eyes suddenly snapped open and it's head jerked up as if it heard something from above. Just as Aeylah could hear the crashing of branches above her, which surely meant something heavy had fallen from some place higher in the canopy, the bird sprung to life and was fleeing from it's nest... an empty nest! "s**t!" She cursed under her breath, body tense as her eyes darted for a place to leap to, to avoid being crushed!
She could feel twigs tumbling onto her head and her body crouched low on it's own accord as she heard the branch above her snap, it was too late!
