Be careful, I know a lot of companies are cracking down on that. My roomie has had his internet turned off two times already by his internet company because movie and game companies will add trackers to all files and report who is downloading them to the internet companies. It's funny to hear the excuses he gives them for why someone is downloading things on his internet connection. rofl
Anyway, I'm for torrenting certain things, mainly because I honestly don't have the money for a lot of it. Programs are priced too high by people wanting to make profit, and I'm really not going to support them having one over on the public. Same for numerous other things. : )

It depends. For me, it would be a matter of "Does the company need my money?" The anime industry is dying, being killed by fan subbers. It makes me sick when people who help to kill the industry call themselves fans. If you can't afford it, don't watch it. I speak with great sympathy. As poor as I am, the only anime I see is on TV or DVDs I get as gifts. Nothing less would be acceptable for any who appreciate it as art or entertainment.

Agreed, Though i do have to say it's hard to be "Disgusted" with it when almost everyone at your school does it. I only use pirating for programs i need, Programs for coding, Or gaming programs. I don't pirate music or anime. As josh said, those two companies are being killed because of the convenients of pirating.

I don't know the first thing about coding, and some software is so disgustingly over-priced that I would pirate it myself (were it not for student loans) and the music industry is in no trouble, so I used to download it, too. I stopped some time ago because there isn't all that much music that I actually want. Anime downloading, however, I do not tolerate. I suppose I can look past it if the anime is over 20 years old and there are absolutely no plans to bring it to the US or dub it. After all, if there is no product for you then you can't very well steal it, can you? That s pretty much the only exception I can think of.

The series dragged on without making any real progress in a timely manner. I don't think piracy was an issue, there.

Don't ******** with it. Please get your facts straight, Josh. Geneon has -nothing- to do with EVA. The animation studio was Gainax, and in the US it was released by ADV. Granted, ADV has currently been having some financial troubles, which is why FUNimation is releasing some of their newer titles, but if all goes right, it won't go the way of Geneon USA. (Geneon Japan is relatively fine).
