((Only ELF, KrysRicci, and Songjewel may post in this thread.))
Song led Kyrs down the hall to an office with an open door and beckoned her in. Following, she closed the door and sat down behind her desk. Two chairs sat on the visitor side of the room.
"Please, Krys, have a seat. My name is Songjewel, in case you didn't hear before. I'm very pleased to meet you. This interview will be pretty quick." She flashed a smile before fishing under her desk for a file and slapping it down on top of the desk.
"Now then, why don't you tell me a little bit about why you like plants? Many people would prefer a pet that interacts with them."

Krys eyed the room. She couldn't help but smile at the two 'visitor chairs', in which case she picked one and sat down. The woman was still arranging herself when Songjewel spoke.
Looking up, Krys grinned, "Well, first of all, I like plants. Unfortunately, they tend to die on me...at least the inside plants. When it comes to outside ones, especially trees... I just... like them, I guess. I grew up near some woods and there were a few trees I just loved. It was devasting when one was taken out by a storm, though..."
There was a pause as she reflected a little bit. When she continued, Krys licked her lips cautiously and rubber beneath her patch a little bit. To those that knew that, that was the sign for slight nervousness.
"As for a plant as a pet, I think it is a great idea. The plant won't talk back to you or nag. You'll still see signs that would require attention, but..." Krys shrugged.
Looking at her hands and then back up to Songjewel, Krys fingered a bell on her collar. This was what she did when she was really nervous, "Would there be a chance, if I am accepted, that I would be able to adopt a fairly hearty plant? I don't want it to just die on me like some of my other more needy ones..."
((Haha! This post reminded me to water my "Dragon Tree"... I am so bad with that thing.... I think it requires a lot more water than the tag lets on sweatdrop ))

Nodding as Krys told her about her tendency to kill plants, she gave her an amused smile.
"One of the perks of having a plant that lives outside is that it tends to do pretty well on its own. So we'll give you one of those, instead of one living in a greenhouse, hmm? That way it'll be less likely to die on you. It'll get watered when it rains, too...you'll just need to make sure the soil doesn't get too dried out for too long. And of course, if anything is interfering with your plant, you can take care of that. Just don't do anything huge, like cutting down other trees, without asking first."
She gave a funny wink, scrunching her face up in a most comical way. It was one of her quirks that she would do when she was very excited and trying to hold back.
"I have a candidate for you that I think you'll like. Take a look," Song commented, handing Elf the folder from her desk. A photo of a small tree with only a few leaves was paper-clipped to the inside front. Also inside the folder was an information sheet titled 'Black Walnut (Juglans nigra)'. "This plant is notoriously hardy; it puts out a chemical that kills most other kinds of plants, so it's really good at competing for resources. What do you think?"

Krys noted the wink... but didn't really understand anyways, so she just continued.
The small woman couldn't help but laugh when she heard the discription of the Black Walnut, "How perfect! I'll take it!"

"Excellent!" Song exclaimed, a little louder than she meant to. Taking a moment to recompose herself, she turned to the bookshelf behind her desk and searched it. Very shortly she found what she was looking for and pulled it out.
"This is something I'd like you to keep while you're taking care of your plant. It's not required or anything, but it's just in case you have anything you want to write down." Song handed the book to Krys; it was small, pocket-sized, and leather-bound. The pages inside were lined, but otherwise empty.
"It's a journal, and it's yours for as long as you are with us. It goes with your copy of the file. Oh yes, that's your copy...I've got one in my own files. Feel free to add anything you like to it, especially if you take any nice pictures.
"Well then, if you're happy with Black Walnut, then I suppose I'll let you read the file while I talk to the next applicant. Unless you have anymore questions?" Songjewel stood and smoothed her coat, waiting for an answer before leading the way back to the waiting room.

Krys shook her head, taken hold of the new journal and file, "Nah... and if I do, I can always ask at a later date."
She toyed with one of the bells for a minute, looking at the picture on the file. She then took the journal and put it in her bag for safe keeping. She would definately be using it.
With that done, the woman stood up and grabbed the file carefully and then waited until Songjewel lead the way out. Krys couldn't remember the way she had gotten here....

"Okay then, we'll head out in a bit. By the way, that's a cute collar. Where'd you get it?" Song asked, heading back to the waiting room, where she opened the door and let Krys out.
