You know how you try out different instruments at the end of grade 5 for the start of grade 6 band? I tried everything out, and the only one I couldn't play at all was the trumpet (my lips weren't designed for such a small mouth piece I guess). I could sort of play the flute... but the room sort of spun, so I thought I'd better not.
My teacher (and my dad, sort of) wanted me to play percussion, but my mom said that since we already had a clarinet (and since she didn't want to get stuck renting an instrument), I'd play her first (and I think only) instrument.
When I was trying out the instruments, I fell in love w/ the clarinet, but I was more in love w/ the trombone.
There.... my confession. Fortunatly though, the clarinet comes naturally to me, so I don't feel bad about the decision I made in my instrument.

It changed a few times...
It started as trumpet, then it became clarinet, then it became bassoon, and for a short time before I got my bassoon it was oboe.
Bassoon was definitely the one I wanted the most out of all of them, and fortunately it turned out to be just as great as I had hoped.

The weird thing is I never wanted to play clarinet.
But now I love it<3
But I would like to try flute and oboe. I kind of tried oboe, but only the reed, and they are awsome. Flutes, the people tend to be snooty in whatever band I join, weird but I don't know why(I don't want to say they are all snooty, because they aren't. Just some of them) But my directors have never let me try. I might get to play oboe this concert season though, which would be awesome, but he is still deciding whether he needs my "strength" on clarinet.
Apparently, i m better at the clarinet then I thought, because he still hasn't decided...

I always wanted to play trumpet. I mean it always amazed me at how cool they were when I saw them. and I loved the sound. My mom told me when we went to the races at church hill downs I'd always make them shut up so I could hear the bugler. XDD lol. I got my trumpet... played it for 6 years. Switched to tuba just this summer for marching band per my band directors request. And now I'm back on my trumpet. ^^ and pretty happy even though it makes my director mad.

And then a didgeridoo You're female right? Or does your avatar deceive me? Digeridoos are only allowed to be played by men (which I think is so unfair) according to Aboriginal culture. They cursed Nicole Kidman for playing one. xp

When I was younger I don't know why but I always wanted to play clarinet. Then I grew out of it. I started to play this video game and they had really shiny cool looking trumpets in it and then I really wanted to play trumpet. That Christmas my parents bought me my first trumpet and I have been playing trumpet since. I absolutely love it smile But now I aboslutley love the baritone sax heart I bought myself an alto sax so that I could learn how to play then once I save enough money I plan to sell my alto sax and buy the bari sax biggrin I just love the sound. Don't get me wrong though I still love my trumpet but the bari sax is just so awesome! biggrin

A confession?
When I first started, I wanted to play saxophone. I had no idea which one (by now I've figured out I wanted to play tenor). But I ended up on flute.
Now? I want to play french horn. Badly. But I won't admit it, because I love playing tuba soooo much. And I think my band director would kill me if I told him I wanted to switch.
I really love tuba. But I never knew how pretty french horns sounded until I already switched, because I sit behind them now. Ah well...maybe in college I'll pick up another one...
