The young adolescent was content with how events had played out for her. She had left home and felt freedom she had never experienced before. Then she had found the one person she was sure she'd spent half her life time searching for. Melhor. She had been interested from the start because of his appearance but when he had started talking. Telling her bits and pieces about himself she had fallen.

It was something she had always dreamed of but never thought she would find so early on and she was completely elated. Now all she wanted to do was learn more about her prince. Simply thinking about him and how he accepted her title made her smile.

"Melhor..."

--

Melhor was settled, watching the area for others and gazelle, mind processing. Even if he didn't find food, he found someone to take back-- and the male was grateful. His tail flicked occasionally, and when she suddenly spoke, he faced her, smiling.

"Hmm?"

--

She couldn't, and didn't try to, hide the smile that graced her lips as she watched him. The time spent around him hadn't been long but it was still perfect for her. "Ah...well..I actually just wanted to say your name." She admitted sheepishly feeling her cheeks start to burn with embarrassment. "And...I just want to know what you want to tell me about yourself." She added softly resting her head on one paw keeping her gaze completely upon him. She wanted to know everything about him that he was willing to share and then some.

--

Melhor looked thoughtful, looking up, then to her.

"What would you want to know? I'm not sure I'm that interesting..." He said, sheepishly.

--

"Everything." She replied almost automatically, unaware of the words slipping from her maw until they were already out in the open. "Do you have any family? Do they live with you? Do you miss them when you're away?" She started asked before realizing that she hadn't given him the chance to answer any of them. "Oh! I'm sorry. I guess I got a little excited." She mumbled dropping her gaze from his before sheepishly glancing back at him. "Of course you only have to say what you want to say." She added quickly.

--

"Family? I have a lot of family." Melhor smiled, looking sheepish. "I have my Mama.... Grandma... Uncles, some aunts.... Out there somewhere I also have a father. I miss them, of course... But we come together eventually." He smiled some. "I think my uncle Vaskezu's my best friend, actually. He's gruff, but kind."

--

"You've never met your father?" She asked lifting her head at this bit of information she picked up. Instantly she regretted pointing it out in case it was a sore spot for him. "Ah...I'm sorry." She mumbled awkwardly before he mentioned his best friend. "You're uncle is your best friend?" She asked thinking the idea was a bit silly before she realized who her own best friend had been. "My grandmother was my best friend back home. Growing up I wanted to be just like her. To have a loving mate and a happy ending." She told him laughing lightly as she thought about the brown lioness she had left behind. She was the first one she told when she decided she was leaving.

"I miss her I do but I promised I'd go and visit. Would you come with me when I do?"

--

"Sure." Melhor smiled.

He stretched.

"I met my father when I was little, but now... Never. He stayed behind." He sighed. He looked down, licking a paw, quiet. "It's not horrible. I just don't think about it."

--

"Good." She replied nodding her head as she settled back down comfortably. When the topic went back to his father she frowned. "Oh. Alright. I won't press it. If you ever feel like telling me I'm all ears." She told him trying to sound cheery and upbeat to hopefully lighten the darker mood that had settled around them. "What's your mother like?" She asked deciding it was time to change subjects. Not to mention she wanted to know all about those that were important to Melhor. She also wondered if his mother would like her.

--

Melhor froze a moment, then looked down.

"Well..... She was very warm and loving... Very supportive... Very affectionate... But ever since..." He didn't continue, shutting his eyes. "She's... Very shy. Timid, now."

--

When he froze in regards to her question she sat up obviously worried that she had upset him in some way. "Melhor...is everything alright?" She asked lightly nudging him with her nose. Her curiousty poked at her to ask him what had happened but she refused to. The pauses between his words bothered her and she could only assume that something terrible had happened to his mother. "Do...do you want to talk about it?" She asked slowly unsure of what else to say. She hoped that he would talk to her about the things that bothered him but if not...well it was still very early in their relationship.

--

"It might... Be best not to."

Melhor was quiet, trying to put the thought out of his mind.

"Especially for my sister. She doesn't know different."

He looked over.

"How about you? What's your family like?"

--

Jipima nodded to show that she understood. If he didn't want to talk about it she wouldn't press it. No it was unneccesary in her opinion. He would open up to her when he felt the time was right. "My father was cursed by a goddess before he met my mother. He had committed many a foul deeds but when he met my mother..." She paused to think about things more so. "He changed. They were happy and still are. As for my siblings, well they're all rough around the edges. To be honest I didn't spend much time around them. I probably should have." She admitted with a light sigh.

"My grandmother is the sweetest creature you will ever meet. She doted upon me, spoiled me even. I never had to fight for anything with her."

--

"Cursed?" Melhor looked over, blinking. "May I ask by which...? I've never heard of a god doing that..."

He looked surprised-- he'd seem maybe one god, Leadership, who left when he was still small. and the talk intrigued him greatly.

"What is your Grandmother like?"

He was intrigued by the lioness' family, looking to her with both eyebrows up, but with intrigue, not anger.

--

Jipima shrugged. It was information she didn't know. "Honestly, I don't know. I do know that if he can do one hundred good deeds the curse is lifted. But they never told me any more than that." She shook her head with a soft smile. "Actually they never really told me that, I overheard them talking about it a few times but when I questioned them they brushed it away." She admitted not the least bit bothered about her eavesdropping.

"Grandma Mpenzi is very loving, sweet and tries to spread her love to all of her family, direct or indirect." She started grinning fondly at the thought of the older female who was still very young by many accounts. "Her love for my grandfather is so strong I can see it so clearly simply by the way she looks at him." She paused to take a deep breath. "It's always a look of complete adoration."

Melhor smiled, looking up.

"My Grandma is interesting. She's very protective." He chuckled. "And there's scars. I think she fights."

--

"I wonder how our grandmother's would act if they met each other." Jipima commented. Surely they had to be rather different from each other. Not once had she ever seen her grandmother pick a fight. Sure she had hunted but besides that there was nothing. "I bet she'd like you." She stated scooting just a little closer to him. "I've never been in a fight." She said furrowing her brow at the thought. She didn't think she'd be a good fighter.

"What kind of position do you think I'd be good for back at your pridelands?"

--

Melhor seemed to think.

"We choose the path we want... Some hunt... Some mind the young... Others guard the lands. Me, I'm a warrior." He looked distant, quiet.

"It's never forced. You choose."

--

She wrinkled her nose letting her thoughts dance over a few of the titles he had given her. She wouldn't be a good guard, she could barely defend herself, she wasn't sure if she could protect anyone else! "Does being a warrior make you sad?" She asked with a tilt of her head. He looked so...not there. "Well I know that I can hunt...I do like children..." She murmured more to herself than to him. The thought of children made her inwardly sigh. It'd be nice to raise a family with the one she loved. Hopefully it'd be something she would be good at, like her mother and her grandmother. "I don't have to chose right away do I?"

--

"Of course not." Then he smiled.

"I don't mind being a warrior. It makes me proud to know my paw will protect those who cannot help themselves... The hungry... The tired... I want to help them."

He looked thoughtful, then smiled at her, winking.

"You know, my sister Nullpunkt IS a cub..."

--

"Oh good." She replied smiled back at him in return. "That's very...sweet of you." She told him as she listened to his thoughts about being a warrior. Surely it was a good position but it was also a dangerous one. A person could get hurt quite badly. "But when you protect those that can't protect themselves don't get too hurt okay?" She told him before her thoughts drifted to his sister. "Is she now? I'd really like to meet her. Do you think she'd like me?"

--

"Maybe." Melhor smiled. "She's good about behaving once she settles."

He chuckled, recalling the semi-aggressive, protective cub. Yes, Nullpunkt was an odd one, but still good. The male smiled, thinking of home.

"It helps to give her a nice fish, actually." He chuckled.

--

"A fish? I think I can do that." She replied with a nod. The idea of going to catch a fish for his little sister made her smile. It was amusing to her, how much he could make her smile even though much hadn't been said or done. "It wouldn't be helpful if she didn't like me would it?" She asked with a soft chuckle of her own. She knew how siblings got, how they acted when someone they didn't like was around their big brother or sister. It wasn't a pretty thing most of the time.

--

"Probably not. She might trick you into meeting our cousin. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. The little girl's kind of... Mad."

Melhor shivered.

"But you should be OK."

--

"What's wrong with your cousin?" She asked ears flattening wondering if it was something she really needed to be worried about. It didn't help that he had shivered after speaking about her. "Would something terrible happen to me if I met her?" She asked her voice dropping to a whisper as she glanced at him, worry obvious upon her features.

--

"No. She's just a little insane." Melhor frowned.

"She keeps telling people horrible things will happen to them."

Melhor rolled his eyes, remembering the time she told him, outright, he was going to fail hunting.

Honestly now.

--

Jipima knitted her brows together when he explained to her what exactly was odd about the little girl. "Do you think she's a seer then?" She asked not once thinking about whether he knew what that meant or not. Her thoughts instantly flickered to her aunt from her grandmother's first litter. How she was declared to be a child of prophecy, a seer child. One possessing a second sight. The thought about the other girl made her shiver. "I would have to have the power to see into the future."

--

"I don't know. If she is, she sees horrid things all the time. She walked up to someone once and actually told them she saw bad things in their future. She's... Odd."

Melhor shrugged.

--

"Poor child." She said a sad smile upon her features as she shook her head. If she could see into the future and could only see the bad thing the well...It simply must be difficult to be her. "Perhaps she's just confused?" She asked before shrugging. "In any case she's different for sure." She told him before smiling. "I know we've only been together for a very short while but what do you think of me. Be honest now. It won't do me any good to lie."

Melhor looked thoughtful, and looked over.

"I enjoy your company. It's certainly some of the nicest I've had in some time." He smiled warmly, and nuzzled her neck. "And it's nice having someone I can relate to."

--

The feel of him against her made her so happy. She leaned into him returning his nuzzle. "I agree." She replied pulling back to look him in the eyes. "I really enjoy your company too." She told him smiling at him before giving him another nuzzle, inhaling his scent as she did so. "Thanks."

--

Melhor rumbled, nuzzling his nose back into her neck, smiling. He didn't need one word, a paw shifting to tuck itself on her own paw, and the rumble continued, only increasing.

--

A purr rumbled through her body out of her maw as he pressed his nose back into her neck again. When his paw was placed over hers she leaned in even more. Slowly she closed her eyes inhaling deeply again. "Melhor..." She mumbled in a daze as she stepped the slightest bit closer to him.

--

Melhor smiled, snuggling close as he licked her ear gently. He wasn't focus around. He focused on her.

That was all he cared about, at that moment.

And nothing else.

--

A shudder ran through her body as his tongue raked over her ear and her purring increased. It felt so nice to have someone by her side, especially when that someone was him.

Her attention was completely upon him. He was the only thing that mattered to her at this moment.

"Don't stop...."

--

Melhor smiled, nuzzling in and licking again, beginning to groom, gently as her rumbled, settling for the lnight to spending time with her.

He didn't care if he didn't find prey now...

--

Jipima settled down close to him, eyes closed enjoying the feel of his tongue against her skin. Everything in the moment was perfect. She felt content to lay by his side for an eternity if time would allow it.

"I'm glad you're my prince Malhor. I wouldn't want it any other way." She whispered to him resting her head upon his shoulder.

--

Melhor smiled, calming and shutting his eyes as he began to sleep, head resting on her shoulders. He yawned, and was soon sleeping, the rumble in his chest remaining.
